funerals are- a way to cope, to put our grief in sensible frame, to help process what is impossible to process together with other people and to put an end to a chapter, in a way. to be able to start to love the rest of your life after a loss. it's a ritual.

none of us will be able to go to Techno's funeral, and that's a good thing - hell, no cementary would fit over 10 milion people - but it's okay if you need a ritual of your own to honor him, to help yourself, to help each other through this.

in few days, if you need to spend a day watching his videos, or talking to a friend about Techno, laugh, cry, reminiscence, build a shrine on your minecraft world - that's okay. that's not parasocial, that's human. you are allowed to grieve even if you've never met a person - he changed the lives of so many people for the better, we didn't know him but we did know the part of him that he wanted to share. we were allowed to love him.

and at the end of the day he loved us enough to not let us mourn him without knowing his name.
