Tiny trick I use when I draw “growly” expressions is starting the lines at the tear duct It doesnt always start there but when simplifying art that’s the method I do!
A tip to improve the colors in your digital art (especially if you’re going for a painterly style)
Hey there, art advice anon again! Your tips have been very helpful, especially the idea that you just have to keep trying until you find the right combination of lines. Thank you!
Do you have any advice on drawing facial expressions?? I’m autistic and I have a really hard time with them.
Howdy again, and sorry for the delay! Not sure how well some of this advice would translate into different styles, this is just what works for me.
Expressions are hard! There's a lot of nuisance and subtle differences between them, and a lot of different expressions share similar features. Ya just have to play around with them.
There are a lot more things that can all help convey emotion, that aren't just limited to the face, like posing and angling, but I focused solely on expressions, here.
Anyway, I hope this helps at least a little :0!
Cleaning up my files and forgot that I had all these wing studies from circa. 2015 so thought, y’know what, I don’t need to hold onto these, so have this as a little gift from me to whomst ever needs some quick wings for their OC’s, AU’s, and Art.

This Art Tip is a little one for beginning inkers, or people who are struggling to get their lines looking steady and confident: look ahead of the line you’re drawing, not at the tip of your utensil where it meets the canvas!
All Art Tips I’ve done are here.
Today’s Art Tip is: there’s a flexible slab of skin between your thumb and pointer finger called “The Web of The Thumb,” and it can be used to make your hands look more solid and dimensional.
(There are also smaller “webs” between each of your fingers but they’re more subtle.)
I couldn’t make individual gifs of this whole this so MADE A VIDJEW FOR YEW GOIS ! I didn’t know what else to make of my animation, so I decided to make it into a little quick tutorial. Hope it helps!
Hell yeah' more shitpost drawing studies'
I mostly to these scribbles/notes for myself, but sharing is caring and my brain simple won't acknowledge and comprehend how light works.
It's actually so simple doing shadows ( in theory ), still' i wanna rip and tear at my hair whenever i actaully have draw dynamic ones.
In ain’t one to draw a perspective grid and then place figures in it; it’s never worked for me. So here’s my method!
That ol’ chart of mine makes the rounds online periodically and it drives me crazy because it’s frankly not very good. So, I finally got around to remaking it.
I doubt this will get anywhere near as popular, but I wanted to make it.
Good reference for animation, comics, and for visualizing phonetics!
SPEAKING OF TUTORIALS, i never uploaded this thing to tumblr! a trick i use when drawing elf ears cause they can be finicky sometimes
