Someone on here made a great post about how Cassandra Brand is a clear reference to Greek mythologys Cassandra, a priestess who was doomed to only tell true prophecies but never be believed. Cassandra obviously warns Miles and her friends about what his new miracle fuel will do and is entirely disregarded.
I read this post and was like "oh that's so smart, you're so right." And then like, went on with whatever I was doing.
And then that night I'm laying in bed and my eyes snap open and my brain is like "her sister was HELEN."
Cassandra forsaw the fall of Troy and was not believed.
Helen caused the fall of Troy.
Glass Onion did many, many things well. But a few of my favorites are:
Gave Helen the LITERAL POWER of the dumb white man's idea of a good idea to BLOW HIS SHIT UP.
Gave Whiskey a moment to deepen her character beyond "dumb men's right bimbo." Do I agree with the way she's doing things? No. Do I respect that she gets the chance to show she is aware of what she's doing? Yes.
Gave Benoit a live-in partner who straight people don't clock at all. Bitch. The butler is not calling Mister Blanc's famous friends to express worry over his bath time. That's the job of a husband (colloquial).
Benoit solving Gillian Flynn's mystery because it's CLEVER but needing help with the ACTUAL mystery because IT'S DUMB. And not because he's TOO SMART but because he's bad at DUMB PUZZLES.
Everyone only willing to throw Miles under the bus after Helen literally blew up any chance he had of saving their asses. Did they learn anything? Fuck no. It's a very clear lesson on understanding who to trust. As Helen puts it: "You'll lie for a lie, but you won't lie for the truth?" They're not lying for the truth at the end. They're lying for the lie that they're not very much like Miles.
I have seen some people noting the Mona Lisa burned like canvas, and I've seen some people noting the Mona Lisa burned like wood, and what's important to remember is that everything you need to know about Miles is that he's got the fucking audacity of the insulated fuckboy to think he's being clever having someone build an un-failesafe button so the Mona Lisa could be safe.

Pt.1 / ?: Guns
You wanna write a story with a militaristic setting, like CoD or R6S? And you wanna have action, but you've got no clue about guns and gunfights and don't know where to start?
Well, lucky for you or not I know what that feels like and I've also got the combat / real life experience to help ya out!
Feel free to hop in my askbox or dm's and ask questions. I'll gladly elaborate and do my best to answer in full and plenty.

So, first of all: Guns are heavy. As in multiple kilogramms heavy. A loaded rifle can easily weigh anywhere between 3 - 5kg. Handguns can be between 900gr - 2kg. The exact weight depends on the gun itself and wether it's loaded or not. A gun w a full magazine is obvs gonna weigh more than a gun without.
Second of all: Despite what you see in video games, you do not just pull the trigger and blast your whole magazine at the enemy. It takes seconds to empty a rifle but gunfights can last for hours - hence why soldiers are trained to count their shots and only shoot in salves.
Third of all: If a soldier ever gets to the point where they gotta pick up rifles found on the ground cause they're either outta ammo or lost theirs... They're probably fucked.
Fourth of all: Soldiers know their weapons. They know the exact type, the name, how to dis- and reassemble it in under a minute, gloves on and eyes closed. We know everything we could possibly know about our gun, down to the exact number of how much it weighs. And yes, we gotta take our gun apart and thoroughly clean it after every. Single. Use.
Fifth of all: Do not - and I repeat - do not shoot towards the sky. That bullet you just shot will come down somewhere (gravity n all) and no one can predict where and what damage it'll possibly do upon impact.

i’m still learning anatomy myself so i wouldn’t use this as more than just a general tip but…. I am fascinated by speculative monster anatomy and this is something i discovered years ago and thought i would impart amongst my fellow monster enthusiasts :)
mind you, the second set of pectorals can look kind of funky so i understand aesthetically why people would prefer not to draw them but! if you are someone interested in anatomy, i think this is a thing people dont really think about when giving their OCs wings/extra limbs and i think it’s kind of neat!

people portraying ghost as an abusive, cold-hearted and emotionless person is actually so sad... did we even play the same game? he obviously cares about soap and his other teammates
at this point just say y'all don't understand traumatized people. having trauma doesn't always make a person act horrible towards others, ghost is just very blunt and probably has issues with trusting people
but still, he's actually really nice to soap, throughout the campaign he's making lots of jokes and calling him "johnny". only he calls him that. also he literally put his military career on hold to help his brother quit drugs, even though he was bullied by him when they were kids
do you really think that same man would let himself treat others like shit when he spent his whole childhood being abused? he would hate himself if he did that, because then he would be just as horrible as his father
so for the love of god stop acting like he's some monster that hates everyone around him 💀 yeah, it might take him a while to warm up to people but that's expected considering what he went through
all the (presumably) underage fans from tiktok acting inappropriately in the live chat during the dan allen gaming interview w neil ellice and samuel roukin honestly has me so disgusted 🫠 i watched about half the interview and stopped because i found myself a bit disturbed by some of the stuff i was seeing
there is a fine line between finding a character/actor attractive and going out of your way to borderline sexually harass someone in a comment section/live chat. the fact the chat had to be TURNED OFF at one point speaks enough.
the thing is too i know the people that are behaving this way are most likely from tiktok because there has been a trend for a while now where whenever the quirky side of tiktok finds their new little character to obsess over/sexualize, they have to take it to a whole new level and make it not only about the character, but the actor as well. it’s so strange to me the way these young fans act online towards grown ass fucking men. there’s nothing wrong with pointing out someone is attractive, but blatantly making inappropriate remarks and asking stuff that’s not appropriate? not okay. this pretty much happened with paul dano back in the spring and joseph quinn during the summer, and now there’s this craziness.
and i will also say this (and i know this probably won’t be taken well by some people), but if roles were reversed and these were two women and a bunch of young men were saying stuff along the same lines of what’s being said to ellice and roukin, these men would be called out for being “predators” “sexual harassers” blah blah blah.
if you want to sexualize and ogle over a character so be it! they are not a real person. but if you’re going to go out of your way to be weird to real people you need to seriously reevaluate some of your life choices.
this isn’t a matter of “gate keeping” either, it’s straight up inappropriate and gross behavior :/
