Solar Eclipse

How would each skeleton react to a Solar Eclipse? Especially if the other skeletons and you were around? Well, let's see. To note, this does not include the Fellswap!G brothers but it does include tale, fell, swap, horror, and both swapfells. There is even a surprise for one more at the end ;)

Vanilla: He would be one of the few to know about what a solar eclipse is in the first place. He wanted to show the others a rare sight, and he even provided glasses for the others. He would find it neat, and as he sipped on a glass of lemonade, he noticed Cyperus holding your hand. He finds it cute and winks at you playfully, raising his glass. He doesn't mind that you're occupied, especially since he can occupy his time teasing Red. He enjoys seeing how everyone is reacting, even if some of them were dragged to participate

Cyperus: He panicked when he was told that the sun was going to disappear. At first, he grabbed Pitch and shook him, shouting about the end of all light. Of course, it was you who had to grab him and reassure him. He would turn to look at Vanilla for confirmation, but he'd end up relaxing. He gets a little nervous, and he would ask if you'd let him hold your hand when it happens. He would find your presence comforting, especially since his anxiety would make him unsure. He would be thankful, though. The moment he finds himself in awe, he shakes you with excitement before pointing at it and shouting about how cool it is

Powder: He would have learned about it because Stretch was rambling about it when they were underground. Stretch has a love for planets, and it would make him happy to know that his brother gets to finally see one. He would provide drinks for everyone, organizing everything. He'd take you aside for a moment and ask if you'd help make sure the others aren't losing their shit. He mentions that Saint will most likely be the most nervous about it. He admits that he plans to make sure the others have a good time, even if he has to drag some of the others out. He finds the solar eclipse to be... beautiful, even if he was a little flustered seeing how pretty you looked when you gazed upon the sky. He gets teased a bit, especially by Razz, but he responds by elbowing his ribcage, muttering for him to shut up. The two end up getting a bit argumentative, but it's less intense since Carmine smacks Razz's skull and Powder tries to prevent further fighting

Stretch: He's the MOST excited out of everyone. Instead of stars being his special interest like Vanilla, it would be planets. He would be rambling to you about it and even get Cash and Rus to be excited. He's a little embarrassed when he catches himself, but seeing that you don't mind would make him all sappy. He's the first to be up on the roof, sitting next to Rus and you. He would press his arm against you, nudging you a bit as he asks if you're ready. He would be mumbling to himself about the sight, in awe. You can't help but find it...endearing. It's funny though when he and Rus start fangirling, the two getting distracted as they catch Cash getting excited

Red: Like Vanilla, he heard about it before. He's a little unsure of how to feel, but he tries to act indifferent. He sort of gets flustered though when Vanilla messes with him about how the tough guy seems to feel unsure. Seeing you all excited would make him a little soft, especially since he rarely gets to see you look this way. He'd sort of wrap an arm around you before the event, pulling you close as he teases you a bit. "well, even if this doesn't mean too much to me, I'm glad to see you enjoying yourself sweetheart," During the solar eclipse, he'll steal a few glances your way, even if he tells Vanilla to shut up when hes caught. He's not that affected, no. He also looks at Pitch throughout, and he kinda chuckles to himself to see his brother actually in awe about something so openly. Vanilla gets him to admit that he's also excited, earning him a playful elbowing as the two are more focused on how the others are reacting

Pitch: He didn't want to admit it, but he also was kind of panicked about the solar eclipse. He didn't know what everyone meant, and he sort of starts to check on everyone's safety. He goes to you at some point and points a phalange your way. "YOU. YOU'RE....OKAY WITH THIS?? THE SUN IS GOING MISSING, IS THIS JUST FINE WITH YOU????" He's confused if anything, even if his voice is as rough as it is. You laugh a bit before moving his gloved hand away. He tries to hide how the action makes him pause, and he listens to what you're saying when you explain it to him. He takes a moment, and then he pulls his hand away with a "HMPH. I SEE. .....WELL! THANK YOU." and he nods his head at you with his frown, but it's less intense. You don't miss the way his shoulders loosen, but you don't comment on it. He sort of stands awkwardly, and speaks up finally. ".... DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS, OKAY..?" It clicks at that moment that he was too shy to ask the others about it. You nod, and in turn he straightens up and awkwardly bows slightly before he struts away. He scolds Rus and Cash when they're all on the roof, especially since they didn't put on their glasses at first. However, his focus is on Lunar. He asked you about the eclipse for his own sake, and secretly Lunar's as well. He doesn't let anyone see Lunar's hand clinging onto his sleeve, not even commenting on it. He wants to act collected, but he's just as nervous. When it happens though, it's.... actually fascinating. He doesn't even notice how his jaw is agape, his eyelight smaller. This was new, but...he is less nervous about it now.

Saint: Oh fuck, he's not having a good time at first. After everything underground before he was pulled to Vanilla's world?? He's having an awful time, even if it's explained to him. It's not from a lack of knowledge, but rather the fear of what could happen and the fear of that darkness. He was just getting used to the Sun. In front of the others though, he's silent and acts like he's not internally freaking out. He can't help that his hand starts scratching at his eye socket, or how his eyes are pinned on the sky as he's up on the roof before the others. He's fidgeting, and he doesn't even realize it. When you're free from Cyperus since he's excitedly talking to the others, you see him. Scooting over to him, he flinches when he feels your hand gently grabbing his own. You pry his clawed phalanges away from his eye socket, holding it as you quietly look at him. Your hands are soft and warm as you smile before muttering, "Hey, it's okay." He just kind of stares, silent as his eyelight slowly starts to dilate. Before you realize it, he pulls you to sit directly between his legs. You can hear the slight shift of his skull as he rests his jaw against your shoulder, and only then does he feel content. He grumbles a bit as you go, but only a bit as he hesitates. He suspects where you're going, and decides to focus on the berries as he bashes Carmine and Razz's skull. He threatens them with a grin to behave or go inside, especially since Powder was so nice as to get everyone comfortable. The rest of the time they're up there, he's talking to Powder and being all friendly

Lunar: He doesn't intend to be so nervous about something like this, but he didn't realize how much the solar eclipse was going to make him nervous. He was a lot more reserved, his hands fidgeting with his scarf. It was Pitch who noticed, and it was him who asked what was wrong after dinnertime. He's cleaning the dishes as Lunar dries them and puts them away on the rack, the two not looking at one another as he admits the truth. Pitch doesn't judge him, even going so far as to offer his company during the event. Lunar is grateful, which has him asking Pitch if he can hug him. Pitch mumbles with reluctance, before dramatically agreeing. He opens his arms and says "FINE. BUT JUST THIS O-" He's stopped when he feels the gentleness of Lunar's hug. He hesitates before slowly wrapping his arms around him in return, the two sharing a private moment as Lunar thanks him. At the eclipse, he's subtly messing with Pitch's sleeve, a little nervous. He's happy to see that you and Saint are getting along, he knows that his brother was also nervous. Pitch ends up distracting him until the two start talking. Lunar admits that the eclipse is...less uncomfortable in the company of a friend

Carmine: He was the only other one to help Powder organize the event on the roof. He knows that Rus secretly admired space and overall planets, so he wanted things to be set up nicely. He kind of just watches during the eclipse until he intervenes with Razz and Powder. When he and Razz started arguing, he only knocked it off when Saint came on over. Begrudgingly, he and Razz sit aside and are snippy towards one another. He asks Razz if he's happy for Cash when he realizes I'm their silence that he's watching him. Razz asks defensively why, but Carmine decides to take the step and answer. "BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I AM HAPPY FOR MY BROTHER, AND THAT MUST MEAN THE SAME FOR YOU." .....Razz doesn't answer for a bit. However, the two seem to reach a quiet and temporary peace as the two finish their conversation about their brothers. At least it's something they can agree on.

Rus: He wanted to deny that he was excited about the eclipse, or at least refrain himself. After all, he doesn't want to look like a dork. When Stretch is so open about it though, Rus ends up getting excited as well. He was a bit more open to it before, but now he and Stretch are actively rambling about how cool it is. It took him and Stretch by surprise when they asked him what he thought and Cash accidentally sounded excited with his eyelight flickering to something akin to an orange tint. They catch him and they gang up on him, getting him to join as he tries to play it off and act cool. He has fun, and he even was able to ask you before you went to Saint if you're doing okay. He seems to be occupied though, and he notices you have a plan in mind when you gesture subtly to Saint

Razz: He found it to secretly be something he'd enjoy, but he originally acted like it was something he went to out of obligation. He started teasing Powder, ended up getting in an argument with Carmine involved, and then was threatened by Saint. He isn't having too much fun until everything actually goes out. His eyelights find Cash, and as he's called out for staring, it's only then that he and Carmine can sit in silence. He's more happy about Cash enjoying this, even if he thinks that the solar eclipse is so fascinating.

Cash: He can't admit that this is something he actually is super excited for. He can't do it, he will look like a dumbass! A soft one at that!!! He acted like he only went because everyone else was, but he planned to go even if everyone didn't. He got caught though, and he didn't intend for it. When this happened, he couldn't be left alone. Augh!! He saw that you noticed and got even more nervous, especially when he begged for you to save him from the other two. You teased him before feeding him to the wolves. How cruel you are!!! He even tried to slip away out of secret embarrassment, but Rus and Stretch won him over. .....He ended up geeking out with the other two

You left the rooftop, your glasses in hand as you asked Vanilla for a spare before leaving. You didn't forget about him, even if he declined the other's offer to go. It took you a minute to find him, but he was in the backyard having a smoke. He either didn't see you or he did see you but didn't acknowledge you when you approached. "Dust?" You called, only knowing that he heard you when he tilted his head in your direction. You couldn't see his face properly, but you knew he was listening as he pulled his cigarette away from where his teeth would be. "I brought you some glasses for the solar eclipse. I didn't think you wanted to join because everyone was going to be up there, so I came down here!" You explained, handing him a pair as he took it from your hand. He observed it for a moment, before he tilted his head back up at you without a word. You hated how you couldn't tell what he was thinking, or at least how he felt when you couldn't see his expression. You felt your feet shifting against the dirt beneath you, slowly swaying your weight from one side to the other. He somehow ended up being the one to make you the most nervous, other than Saint. You took a step back, your eyes suddenly finding the area surrounding the two of you to be more interesting to look at. "Uhm, yeah! So...so I'm suspecting maybe I was wrong? I get it if.....get it if you don't want to see it, I just thought of you and didn't want you to feel....feel excluded." You repeated yourself as you stumbled over your words a few times, silently cursing yourself since you only did this when you were anxious. Fuck your stupid insecurities. You flinched suddenly when you felt smoke hit your face, your eyes widening a fraction as you were startled. He had leaned forward and now was only an inch away from your face, his phalanges hooking around his cigarette before he extinguished it against the stone statue beside the two of you. He still said nothing, but you figured as much that he was more attentive than before. You swallowed back a yelp, of course, you weren't some child. Up this close, you could see them. His eyelights, a soft purple and blue bleeding together with a dash of red. They were...pretty, at least when you didn't think about what each color meant. You could slightly see the outline of his teeth, and how they offered a smile that you weren't used to seeing as his eyelights caused a faint glow. "...Thank you. You really are an...angel." He muttered, his voice smooth and yet slightly raspy, like black charcoal mixed with honey. You couldn't help but feel your breath feel irregular as you involuntarily smiled, taking an extra step back as you straightened up. He tilted his head to the side, but did not say anything else. You heard the sincerity in his voice, that faint softness that he only seemed to have occasionally. You cleared your throat before speaking again. "Of course-! Hah...uhm, thanks. I'm- I'm going back inside now. I hope you enjoy the uh- eclipse!" You didn't even allow yourself to face the embarrassment of how your cheeks flushed against your will at his proximity or how his voice sounded so pleasant to the ears. You didn't see his response, or his smile as he thought to himself... Cute.

He was cruel, or at least was supposed to be.

You felt his hand pressing against the small of your back as he pressed his cheek against your shoulder. You said nothing, your eyes dragging away to meet his sockets. You could see the faint white outline of what was his eyelight flickering, faltering.

You didn't have time to say anything as you were pulled off your feet, resting limp in his arms as he pulled you onto his lap. His phalanges traced around your tummy, rubbing them sweetly as he tilted his head with a wavering smile. You could tell that he was nervous.

What was in your hands was a stuffed animal, small and soft. A gift, he said, that reminded him of you. You felt your eyes water slightly as your fingers pressed into the cats cheeks, your lips parting. When was the last time you have been given a gift?

“Woah, hey, are you crying?” Killer's voice dragged your attention back to him as you looked at him. You could see the smears of black on his cheekbones seem faded as he must've wiped it away to keep the cat plush clean for you. He pulled out some tissues, something he always kept, and he handed it to you.

“I didn't think you'd cry! Did I do something wrong, doll?” “No,” your voice was shaky as you accepted the tissue, only barely using it before you promptly pressed your face against his chest. You could feel the way his bones stuttered beneath the weight momentarily, caught off guard.

“I-I really like it, thank you,” Your voice wavered as you pulled the stuffed animal to your chest, clinging onto it as you tried your best to hide your embarrassment. You didn't see his expression since you were hiding your own, but you felt his hands slowly wrapping around you as you felt the tension in his bones ebb away.

You heard the chuckle he let out as he nuzzled his face into your hair and felt the small spark of magic he must've used to kiss the top of your head. One of his hands trailed up to cup your cheek, squishing the warm flesh as he coaxed you to look up at him. “Thank the stars that you do, I would've had to kiss you better if you didn't,”

You snorted slightly, feeling him lean forward as he peppered your cheeks with small kisses. You felt that your face was dipped in warmth, flush as your teary eyes remained. “Then why are you kissing me now?” “Because I still plan to kiss you, is all,” He cooed mischievously, a smirk forming.

You wanted to throw a retort back at him, to joke about how he must really like kissing you to make so many excuses. However, you felt your eyes widen when he pressed a tender kiss against the softness of your lips. It wasn't his usual type of kiss, something so tender was reserved for a skeleton like him. You softened the same way he did as he pulled away, his thumb rubbing under your eyes as he wiped away a stray tear.

“You're evil,” “Guilty as charged,”

You couldn't tell that he was more nervous than he let on, even if the signs were subtly there. He was afraid you wouldn't like the gift, but seeing you get emotional just opened his mind to more possibilities. You're too sweet for him, he wants to just spoil you until you're just as rotten as he is. Instead, he said nothing about his plans, and he remained content with being able to just hold you as he felt your weight shifting to rely on him.

He liked when you relied on him.

Soul Traits vs Monster Souls

Each Soul Trait have their own traits, and it would make sense that only Humans have them. So, why don't we go down and show the uniqueness of each soul, hm? Id love your own interpretations on these as well and why. Whoo, let's go!

Top Three Rarest Souls-

Determination: The most rare of souls, this soul is associated with a bright candy red color. They are far more ready to keep going, judged by how much you want something and the lengths you are willing to go to in order to make it happen. It is shown that this soul has been not only the rarest, but has evidence of doing things other souls have not. Not much is known about this soul, but has an issue with overflowing and becoming corrupt.

Excessiveness of this soul leads to Tenacity, being unwilling to give up and leading to their downfall

Corruption leads to Spite, pushing themselves over the limit and only growing bitter

Resistance against the soul's desire would lead to Irresolution

This soul trait is less likely to Fall Down but more likely to be Corrupt

Kindness: The second most rare of souls, this soul is associated with a bright lime green color. A scarcity in this realm, their soul is associated with helping others and extending empathy to others. Though often seen as a weak trait due to being easily discoloring, keeping this soul bright is challenging to many, but it ends up being rare to see it corrupted

Too much Kindness leads to Complicity, having a high risk of dying easier due to self sacrifice.

Going against the soul's desire would lead to Apathy, a lack of compassion

Corruption leads to Animosity, strong hostility to the point of hatred

This soul is more prone to Falling Down and Resistance, but is the less likely to be Corrupt and being in Excess

Integrity: The third most rare of souls, this soul is associated with a royal blue color. Given to those who hold strong morals, they strive to hold their promise and are adamant about keeping promises. Due to the world's condition, it is rare for this soul to be found more overflowed than corrupted.

Too much Integrity leads to Righteousness, unable to stop itself from thinking that all it's doing is for the good of others

Corruption leads to Conceit, leading to bias and egotism

Going against the soul's desire would lead to Deceit

This soul is more prone to corruption, Falling Down, and Resistance

Most Common Souls-

Bravery: One of the most common, this soul is associated with a pumpkin orange color. Given to those who are confident and courageous, they keep going in the face of danger. They have the courage to keep going in times of hardship and are wonderful to befriend. Though the most common out of any soul, they are surprisingly hard to corrupt, but have a hard time being tamed.

Too much Bravery leads to Impulsivity, not knowing when to back down and often becoming ones own downfall as a result

Corruption leads to Stubbornness, especially if it's directed towards a bad goal and ends up hurting others

Resistance against the soul's desire would lead to Cowardice, too scared to do anything and often running away

It is harder for this soul to Corrupt and to Fall Down

This trait often has Excessiveness

Justice: One of the most common, this soul is associated with a aureolin yellow. Given to those with a strong sense of right and wrong, they are lawful and unwavering people. They cannot stand on the side when there's obviously conflict, and they are the first to step up to help. One of the least likely to overflow but often seen corrupted.

Too much Justice leads to Vengeance, an ambitious and powerful force

Corruption leads to Iniquity

Going against the soul's desire would lead to Injustice

This soul is more prone to Corruption

This soul hardly experiences overflow

This soul has lower rates of Falling Down

Patience: One of the most common, this soul is associated with a cyan blue. Given to those who can wait things out, knowing what's good for them in a quiet manner. Though more common than other souls, it's still hardly spotted nowadays. This is due to scientists classifying as such because having a healthy soul for this trait is uncommon.

Too much Patience leads to Stagnation, an idle soul

Corruption leads to Agitation, easily losing your calm and rationality

Going against the soul's desire would lead to Restlessness, unable to wait and becoming too quick to get results

This soul tends to Fall Down often

This soul is less prone to Corruption

This soul often has Resistance to its vessels

Perseverance: One of the most common, this soul is associated with a grape purple. Given to those who are persistent against all odds, they learn to overcome their challenges. The most likely Determination, they have a tendency to overflow vs having a lack of the trait.

Too much Perseverance leads to Inflexibility, adamant about not changing or compromising

Corruption leads to Blind Persistence, leading to their own self destruction

Going against the soul's desire would lead to Apathy, not caring enough to continue

This soul is less prone to Corruption

This soul is less likely to Fall Down

This soul often overflows in Excess

This soul often deals with Resistance with itself

Other: This is not quite a soul trait rather an ending result. Grey souls and Hatred are their own unique and special situations that need analyzing.

Grey Souls: This is what happens when someone completely loses their soul trait. It's hard to get it to fully turn grey, but there have been no reported incidents of what happens when fully grey. It is determined that a Human can't properly handle a soul where 25% or less of their Soul Trait is present, and usually there happens to be cases of suicide as a result. It's very challenging to change the soul to be back to a healthy percentage, but it's possible

Hate: When a soul becomes corrupted, it starts to crack and wither into a dark shade of black, becoming more and more as the underneath of the original color of the soul ends up turning here. There is little to no way of stopping this once it reaches dangerous levels, and because of it? It completely alters the Human, changing them until they are entirely consumed. No human has reached this point within recent times, but during the War between Monsters and Humans there were written scripts of Mages turning because of Corruption. But those scripts have been lost over time, so there's no real knowledge of what happens when it reaches over 80% of the Human's soul...

Now monster souls do not have soul traits. In fact, it would be impossible since they are made entirely of magic or (LOVE = LV) and do not have a body separate from their soul. However, their magic has their own unique colors and depending on the AU that simply has to do with their environment, stress, etc. Purple, red, orange, and yellow have the most stress. Blue, green, and white have the least. Of course, it can change, but if the soul is under too much stress, it can alter the color of ones magic permanently.

- Has the most control of his magic and will adjust to match his opponent.

- An excellent cook for everything except pasta, it's why he's hyperfixating on getting it right

- Likes puns but thinks there has to be tact

- Hard worker, overachiever, kindhearted, empathetic, optimistic, cheerful, confident, sassy, impulsive, loud, stubborn, blunt, and charming

- Pacifist

- No pet preference, but has beef with the white dog that terrorizes him

- Does not curse often but will

- Magic smells like citrus, magic tastes like sugar cookie

- loves high fives

- Bear hugs all around

- Will remember everything someone tells him and uses it to his advantage

- Takes on emotional and physical burdens from others and gets burned out because of it. Wants to make everyone happy

- Takes care of himself physically, but struggles to do it emotionally. Hides it from others of course, but sometimes it's hard to hide from yourself

- Cries frequently if he's sentimental and not afraid to show it. Goodbyes, shows, etc. He only is practically silent if he's genuinely upset

- Would call his lover "Sunshine"

- Admires Vanilla and encourages Vanilla to rely on him

- He was the one to come up with the idea of using different names for everyone when the AU's clashed

- Unintentionally brutal when insulting someone, he also can make someone's jaw drop if he comments on something

- Hyperfixates on making good puzzles, it's a special interest of his

- The "Date" in Undertale was actually just him doing a playdate with Frisk. I think he would be good with kids, and he gets to get this little human to smile and befriend him and his brother. It would explain why he is so cartoonishly crazy about it, and why at the end he only wants to be friends

- He would call you all the time, face times, texts, all of it. He has so much to say and loves speaking, loves talking to you. You haven't grown tired of him? Well, because you haven't, he's secretly so happy to know that

- Admires Undyne and feels that he's not allowed in the royal guard due to something he's doing wrong

- Mettaton is his celebrity crush, but he'd never date him if they ever met. The "celebrity life is just not for him. His only true love is himself..."

- He is good artist who makes hero comics as a hobby, I think that because he has so many figurines he'd practice drawing since it's clear they're good poses and he's friends with Undyne. Clearly, comics and manga go with anime

- Cries in his closet when underground. In the game, he comments there are no skeletons in his closet, except him sometimes. I think this shows that it's a good place for him to cry without getting caught since it's a private spot

- Will make grand entrances often, including jumping through windows or throwing his hand out in a grand gesture before announcing himself

- Owns a red car, a sleek fancy one that he had to work to get a driver's license for. Otherwise, he would've crashed it

- Loves to try different styles above ground, since he didn't have many options Underground where most monsters don't even need clothes!

- Will carry Vanilla around and refuses to let anyone else do it because they "do it wrong."

- His favorite food is dinosaur oatmeal

- side eyes his friends, the others pets, even strangers, often. It's a silent judgment and he's super cartoonish or slick about it

- Doesn't remember Gaster except sometimes in his dreams

- He doesn't have anyone that outright dislikes him. for some they don't care for him, or even mock him, but no one dislikes him or even goes so far as to HATE him

- Is quite lonely, when the others arrived it was what he considers a gift

- He is in truth not as judgemental as he can come across, trying his hardest to be open minded about serious topics. Otherwise, expect him to call the old man at the grocery store and old prune for taking the last of the noodle brand he uses

- He's self reflective, and a lot more intelligent than some people give him credit for. His theatrics do not deter him from being serious and deeply considerate when times matter

- He has never flattered someone out of manners, and so you can expect him to really mean it when he compliments you

- He has such control of his magic that he can bring you down to one HP, that's something that requires patience but he's capable of it

- He does gaming rarely, it's only something he does with family or if it's a puzzle game, opening his mind to fun things

- Rubic cubes are a thing of the past for him, he understands patterns and he can solve them way too quickly. Vanilla actually taught him when he was younger

- He acts more "motherly" when the other versions arrive, he has a desire to take care of others as a result

- He will gossip and even talk shit when it comes to shows, don't even get him started on it. The moment his TV show comes on, he's entirely wrapped up and invested. Just wait until reality TV gets discovered by him

- He's hard to anger, but frustration comes to him easily. He'll be frustrated at his failures, and he suppresses it until alone. Anger, however, isn't often a problem for him. You'd have to push him, and only then does he truly become something else. He doesn't like that version of himself though

- Very touch oriented and an active soul, he likes to work out and get up stupid early

I actually thought that he was the best brother out of the two there are, I owned so much stuff such as a beanie, a hoodie, a poster, and all that jazz when I first got into Undertale. I sadly gave that stuff up after I just dealt with a very unhealthy friendship, since we bonded over it. Years later I got back into it though, and learned to appreciate Sanses all around. Papyrus will always be my #1 bbg though

Any favorite foods or drinks?

My favorite drinks would have to be peach soda or monster energy drinks! Papillon, Rosa, and Mango are my favorites.

As for food? I really love Thai food and overall Asian cuisine even if that means having to look for authentic restaurants around my town :-))

Me when I think about how Papyri is friends with their versions of Flowey changes but ultimately the OG implies that maybe Flowey cared because he probably was losing Hope and also again is just a child who was hurt beyond repair and then brought back as a flower. Papyrus and his brother appeared later on in life, which can show how he didn't want to see anyone who might've recognized him at some point or another. I think Papyrus is good with kids personally so y'know thinking about their dynamic makes me go

Nightmare Sans

- He gets slightly uncomfortable around stone, even if he knows that no one is inside. It just makes him secretly nervous

- He avoids water because if he's fully submerged you can see the inner body that negativity possesses. Aka his original one

- He usually is covered in goop but rarely does it remove around him as a sort of venom situation. In fact, the two are separate entities in some ways, working as one

- Funnily enough he's a perfectionist who likes his things organized, especially when it comes to plans

- Does not use or understand slang

- He is a wonderful strategist, he even plays chess and can use the pieces as a visual understanding of it

- Hates sleep and avoids it until it's impossible to do so

- Can go into other people's dreams and cause intense nightmares, but he cannot do the same for his own and he is forgotten the moment the individual awakes

- He actually cares deeply for a lot of things, but he refuses to acknowledge this under most circumstances. If he vocalizes it, he threatens others to not do anything towards it

- He doesn't hate Error or even Ink, but he finds both to be a pain in the ass. Ink is one of the few he can't wrap his head around and he is one of the few who suspects Ink, especially because his emotions and aura seem....odd

- A more quiet and reserved being, he doesn't talk much unless he has to address someone or when he chooses to respond

- He's hard to read due to his air of apathy, he has learned how to avoid others detecting how he feels

- Even after eons, he won't let anyone else harm Dream

- The stronger the negativity, the larger he grows

- His original name is Night, him and Nightmare are separate but very much intertwined

- His original job was to protect those from negativity and also balance emotions in hard times to guide others, allowing sadness to occur

- Used to Call Dream Sunny as his nickname, and he refuses to let anyone call him Nighty since only Dream called him that

- People like to think of Night being manipulated by negativity but also it's important to note that what if that negative entity actually did feel that pain Nighty went through and was a source of comfort for him when Mother Tree wasn't? Yes, it eventually hurt him by convincing him to eat the apples to be corrupt, but if it's a parasite in my interpretation? I'd want to be maybe like- a situation where the corruption was also genuinely caring of Nighty while simultaneously being the reason Nighty indulged in his anger and hurt

- Multilingual, he knows every language fluently

- He had time to learn how to read and write, he forgot that Dream didn't the first time he saw a tree inside an AU carved by Dream with horrible writing underneath. That realization sort of made his "soul" crumble at the thought

- He has severe thanantophobia, he actually is deeply afraid of dying despite his circumstances. It's something he stresses out about and when Dream became more dangerous, he grew more nervous

- He's actually insecure about his aura at times, especially near those he doesn't wish to harm. He worries if they don't want to be around him because of it, which just worsens his aura

- He thought Dream died long ago, as he was disoriented and was too busy grieving. He didn't actually want Dream to die, and I actually hc that he threw the cloak over Dream to protect him as an apple happened to fall underneath with Dream. He was ashamed when Dream saw him again, and saw who he became. Still, he didn't want to change his ways because of the resentment he still held at the time

- He used to visit Dream and would cry next to his statue before he went off to feed off negative timelines. Even then, he would visit on their birthday

- He destroys mirrors and refuses to look at himself. He doesn't want to remember what he used to look like or who he's now become

- He has a secret painting that he was able to create deep inside his castle, one of Dream. He has destroyed previous ones due to finding them imperfect, a disgusting reminder, etc. this one though, this one he keeps

- His favorite fruit is pomegranate, he can perfectly deseed it and it's his favorite snack other than apple pie

- He used to be great with animals, barely do any of them approach him however

- He likes forests, the scent and even the sensation. He just wishes that he could feel Mother Tree again

- He enjoys herbal tea, actually much more than coffee and his favorite is lavender tea

- He avoids anything related to apples or fire, it reminds him of his past and in fact he grows nervous about it

- Doesn't realize that his tentacles react to his emotions, going so far as to flick with irritation at times

- His tentacles often just appear at will or with extreme emotion, but when they do appear to be actually quite painful since they tore through his back bones. Nowadays, he's numb to it and the bones have attempted to grow back due to magic healing he's attempted to find

- His tentacles actually can act like tree branches or at least resemble them. Firm, shaped similar, etc

- Genderless but prefers masc pronouns

- He actually never lies, but twisting the truth so hard involves enough intellect and leaves him to be a dangerous figure

- Gets really goopy when sleeping, to the point he looks boneless

- Out of respect and guilt after coming back to his senses after the incident, he used parts of Mother Tree as custom furniture inside his castle so that she doesn't go to waste at all.

- He forgot what a hug feels like, the only time he was ever hugged in his life was with Dream. Time caused him to forget

- I feel that his form, present, isn't his true form but he keeps it up because it not only was the turning point in his life, but what protected him. It's why I think it works as something else when it detached itself. The goop at this point is a different part of who he is, and only when he is alone does it detach to speak

- Even if he causes nightmares and enters inside other monsters minds, he actually just has dreams. He dreams of what would've happened if they were happy, being raised by the mother tree, if he and his brother grew up without being guardians. It haunts him, makes him question if he was actually just justified in what he did. Was his actions worth it?

- He hates losing control of situations, absolutely throws a fit

- Struggles getting drunk, so he only drinks wine and magical drinks. Smoking doesn't please him, goop covers it anyways

- He doesn't discriminate, fools. Useless hatred feeds him, sure, but that doesn't mean he agrees and even will react violently towards blatant hate crimes

Soul Bonding

Just thinking about soul bonding. This is just my personal take on it, and later on I definitely will be using this for some of my self indulgent x reader content. Enjoy

Soul bonding is when two or more souls create an intimate relationship with one another. It is not exclusive to romantic feelings, but rather all versions of love. Each soul almost syncs in wavelengths when it happens, and that can allow each soul to understand and better connect with the others emotions at the time. It is exclusive to those with a soul, but there are ways those without one can still connect. No bond is stronger than the other in the sense that family is first, or romantic is first. Each is treated as if it's strong to begin with in order to form, as anything before a soul bond is simply a connection that happens with the body and mind.

The things that the soul bonding can bring is some of the following:

- Better understanding of the others emotions, due to the fact that they're intimate with the soul and it's wavelengths

- Better ability to find the other no matter the distance

- Getting the ability to find things out about the other that is never spoken. However, this would mean that the person able to detect this would have to be really in tune with their soul

- Causing each being to feel closer, since soul bonding happens involuntarily and sometimes souls just feel a tugging to connect. This is how some love at first sight moments occur

- It can strengthen over time and has the ability to allow the other to actually hear the music of the other's soul if chosen to. Each Soul has a different sound, and it tends to have effects on the soul listening such as soothing sensations, a release of happy emotions, and a vulnerable desire to sing along and synchronize

- The soul will grow brighter the closer they are to the other soul, sometimes leading to the two being exposed in order to "sing together." When this happens, both beings bond more strongly and can practically share the same soul with how the souls are so in sync. Emotions are shared, thoughts are shared, sensations are felt, and the strength of the soul doubles

Soul bonding can bring what some consider bad. However, it is simply because the soul can only be honest and be selfish with what it wants and only what it wants. Souls never intend to harm another, as it's made entirely of LOVE. The reason something would go wrong is entirely on the person, and when the situation turns sour its only because of the voluntary choices of the individual themselves

- Feeling the others emotions when in close or distant proximity, allowing each soul to tell when the other is upset or angry. This can be a good thing, but in an unhealthy relationship, this can lead to anxiety and a constant desire for pleasers to do more in hopes that the other soul will be happy

- Trying to connect before the beings are ready, as it's natural for the wavelengths to sometimes resonate since it's something deeper going on that only the souls knows. Some monsters/humans aren't ready for those commitments, which can lead to the right person, wrong time

- It is hard to cut off the soul bond, as even if it's damaged it has to be voluntarily cut off by the individual. This can lead to times where the one on the end of the cut is suffering as the soul feels that pain and sudden lack of connection.

- Better ability to find the other no matter the distance, which can lead to struggles getting away from someone if the soul bond isn't cut off properly, leaving tethers that remain

- Some bonds are so strong that they refuse to listen to logic. This can lead to monsters or humans doing stupid things even without knowing fully why. Yes, this can lead to good results, but not always

Can Soul Bonding involve more than one person?

Soul bonding is not exclusive to one person. There can be multiple and it is only possible if both souls understand the bond as "right." This means that cheating is not something that can lead to anything good. Soul bonding only is if both souls have an intimate connection beforehand, but only in the emotional sense. Anything such as a fling only hurts the soul and the bonds it has made, since the soul bonding cannot be formed over sexual or artificial relationships.

Interestingly, souls can be quite restrictive when it comes to who it wants to bond with. This is why forced soul bonding isn't possible, such as an abusive partner, as it cannot be forced if only one soul wants to bond. If there was a bond beforehand, but it weakened over time due to an unhealthy relationship, the soul bond can and will be easier to cut without the repercussions.

Interestingly, there can be an unrequited love bond. Usually, this stems from friendships/platonic soul bonds. What tends to happen is a platonic soul bond will form, but only one soul starts to experience a romantic sensation. This leads to shaky soul bonds that can be hard for each soul to synchronize properly. They sing a different tune when bonding, the shape of wavelengths differing and causing only uneven bonding moments. It still is a good sensation, but it's not as strong as it could be

What happens if a soul rejects another?

Well, there is a reason why some monsters or humans instantly don't like each other. Sometimes, souls simply don't have wavelengths that it can sync with. They don't have anything they want to do with the other, and often this causes the individual to dislike the other even if it's without reason. Sometimes, a healthy soul will reject another that's tainted such as having excess or hints of discoloration. After all, the soul may not know why, but it signals that the other poses a threat, a threat to itself. There must be a reason that the soul is the way it is, and this is especially the case if signs of Corruption are present.

Some souls will bond, however, if both are tainted. Those with excess will either reject each other, or bond. The same can be said to those that are in discoloration, such is how those with depression experience understanding towards others that also have depression
