Lazy Valentine's Day Sketch

Figured I should post something quick

ensthir riding a funny kangaroo

this creature is known as a mir, filling the role of a horse in the desert regions, one of the many animals domesticated by ensthirs.

it is herbivorous and very docile, grazing at twilight to avoid the harsh sun and most predators. they live in small packs of up to ten members, all of which they will be very close with. these packs do not consist of a leader or any sort of pecking order, each member plays their own important role and are valued equally.

being social animals, they are easily approached and respond very well to offerings of food.

the mir has developed a duckbill-like mouth to prevent injuries when eating thick and spiny plants. their toenails have also developed into hooves, better for traversing the hot and rocky landscape.

their tail is thick and muscular, being highly flexible to balance out their body weight for a wider range of movement. a mir doesn't need to climb or swim to suit their lifestyle, but they are very capable of it if their ever comes a need. their tail is also able to store large amounts of water when droughts ar imminent.

the bluish-purple parts are bare skin, which is incredibly thick and leathery, having multiple uses to ensthirs. their arms, legs and some areas of the face are hairless, but the bottoms of the feet and hands have a short, thick layer of hair to avoid burns while walking.

there are two whisker-like appendages at the base of the neck, which function as ears.

another (partially) domesticated animal

the tycir are a grazing herd animal that share a common ancestor with ensthirs, despite all differences. they fill a niche similar to camels, able to withstand high temperatures, low water supply and can walk for hours without needing many breaks. their low center of gravity also allows them to traverse uneven terrain.

the blue horns of the tycir are repurposed mandibles that have become fixed into place, which can be used either to fend off predators or to fight for a mate. both males and females possess horns, but a males will be larger and brighter.

tycirs appear giant next to an ensthir, and if ensthirs were human sized would be larger than African elephants, but in reality they are similar in size to a shire horse.

physical features in common with the ensthir include their stripes, but for a good part of their history they never had stripes. it appears they are a recent convergent evolution.

Wanted to mention this before my daily schedule gets hectic- but I love your The Third Season…Of Our Lives series! 

I can say it is the fic that resembles Hater and Wander’s lore the closest to canon that I’ve ever read, and that is so difficult considering we don’t actually have their backgrounds! Kudos to you! 

I just love knowing so much *stuff* can happen between Wander and Hater when theyre both alone together. It started with The Buddies- it took ONE day with Wander for Hater to have literally the gayest dream possible- and to have that happen once more in The Key- ugh there is so much to gush about! 

As of now I am in the middle of The Smooch, and I want to type up a proper review of what I have to say eventually- but please know I am enjoying this so much so far!

Getting it as close to canon as possible was definitely the goal! These two have so much chemistry and they can both make each other better people through trial and tribulation, so stay tuned! I hope you're ready for more romance, drama and a proper season three heavily inspired by the original creator's interviews!

You are absolutely a massive source of inspiration for my work on these two and I hope you enjoy what the rest of the series has in store. <3

nothing more annoying than people who brush off basil's act of hanging mari by saying "well, he was just trying to protect sunny! he was being so selfless!" first of all, impact absolutely eclipses intent in this situation. second of all, basil's motivation is clearly at least somewhat selfish? above all else, he wants to keep his best friend, and his concern for the well-being of said best friend is secondary.

just look at this dialogue. of course basil loves and cares about sunny a lot, but when he gets desperate—as he is here, and as he presumably was when he hung mari—he isn't acting with sunny's best interests in mind. he's primarily concerned with what sunny can do for him.
