casual reminder that sirius black’s last words to his godson were “harry, take the prophecy, grab neville and run!”.

it’s not mistaking harry for james, as the movies showed. and the last words he ever uttered were a taunt, daring bellatrix to do better.

in the heat of the battle, sirius ensured harry and neville were well out of the line of fire before jumping into the fray himself—he died knowing he’s kept harry safe until the very end as best as he could.

You ever realize Sirius probably looks hotter when he’s being a complete mess than most people do trying to look good?

The reason i’m reluctant to make them the Starks or the Targaryen is solely on the basis that, for me, the best part of the Black is they don’t have to prove them selves to anyone. They are powerful enough as it is. Hence why my mind drifted a bit to the Lannisters, mainly because we know the Kingdom is always in debt and they need a family to lend them money.

The only kingdom that never has economical issues is the north. So in the Kings of the North au where the Starks rule and Orion is the hand, he doesn’t fully support the kings political agenda (probably this king is considering bending the knee) but he is not too concern because we know is the hand who really governs in the end. Sirius is expected to follow into his dad footsteps: becoming the next hand, not the king. And so is possible for the next king to be James (god forbid prongsfoot is separated in any universe), because again Orion doesn’t have to like the Potters/Starks for him to do his job and do it well (i mean, he fails for the sake of drama and blackinnon angst, but you know).

As for the Targaryen… same thing happens to me. I really love the idea of them being that family, because it is very much the feel i get when i read “most noble and ancient family”. But I would chose Velaryon in this scenario making Walburga a Targaryen who married her Velaryon cousin. She could be someone very much like Rhaenys, the queen who never was. Walburga WAS the eldest daughter, after all.

Also the Velaryon disappeared as well and in much more mysterious circumstances (or so i think because i haven’t finished the last asoiaf and haven’t read fire and blood). But the mistery to me resembles the concept of the family tree tapestry with the ancestors erased and my mind going: the fuck happened there? 😂

And to pick up the rich family vibes, is where i think the Black could be positioned ANYWHERE, the Lannister are one example of a rich and powerful house, but not the only one, there are the Tyrells, wasn’t the Highborns too? And surely there are others.

Also what about Dorne? (and not just because I like the visual of a more darker skinned sirius), but because the Martells are very far removed from everything, no need to prove anything and are a very well established family (rich and well connected, much like the Velaryon at their time).

Now the good thing about the place where the Martells and the Velaryon are located could add the possibility of Marlene being a foreigner (I know this could happen anywhere but shhh), someone Sirius only meet while traveling, wouldn’t that be yummy? Since outside Westeros doesn’t look like the same rules are applied to girls, Marlene could be a warrior, a soldier, a pirate, and artist, an arsonist, ANYTHING and her talents could be well hidden because she is a girls and she knows the way Westeros works.

Ahh how Sirius would love her.

i have landed on something, i’m going with my gut here.

i like the idea of knights watch/wilding but i fear i would make marlene too much like ygritte and no, we already knows how that one ends (🥲)

so… this is during the time where the starks are the kings of the north. orion is the hand of the king. he and his family don’t approve of the idea of bending the knee to the targaryen. i don’t know if there are direwolfs in this era, but even if there aren’t and they have zero defenses against dragons, the blacks are set to keep the north an independent kingdom.

sirius as the oldest son is meant to be lord of his house but, until he comes of age, he’s the squire of the king or whatever they call the position where he’s supposed to learn from under the wing of an important person 😂 haven’t read the books in a while and i even forget the right words in spanish so, anyway…

james is possibly the older son to the king (i can’t picture sirius without him). sirius is obviously living in the castle along side his dad and the stark/potter family.

marlene however… is the daughter of the inn keeper. the inn where all the major lords and people from the south come and stay when they can’t be in the castle.

she has always wanted to learn how to ride like a boy and duel and fight with swords, very much like arya. but she can’t exactly ride the few horses his father has because they’re not train for that or they are too old.

marlene is often working in the tavern and that’s how she meet sirius.

maybe he catches her trying to “steal” a sword or playing pretend, something like that when they are young and sirius would never admit it, but she’s the reason he keeps coming back even though he has full warm meals in the castle. he brings james from time to time.

now that’s all i have so far.

obviously whatever they have could never become something because of their situation, but in this scenario neither of them are content with their respective situation and most likely will take matters into their own hands.

ANOTHER ASK how do we see hinny and blackinnon in a happy ending world when no one is dead

uhhh but there’s a catch though: no war and happy ending means we don’t get the same harry potter from canon and we do erased a lot of the parallels he had with teenage sirius BUT…

we do end up having a harry who grows up to be what sirius couldn’t, seeing as he either didn’t have or didn’t felt like he had a very loving and supportive family (even if walburga and orion intended for it to be that way)

and maybe in the end that’s why when hinny get together and grow up they get married and have kids and settle into a very domestic life, harry emulating in a way his parents and obviously ginny hers, because both actually had a happy childhood surrounded by their blood relatives

where as blackinnon will forever be too wild to be tame for social pressure and boring standards. it’s not that they don’t love each other, they just have different priorities and, besides, sirius probably sees harry as his own kid and marlene loves him dearly. i also think marlene has a ton of nieces and nephews from her brothers so there’s plenty of family there and she loves being the favorite auntie

i like the idea of harry having both james and sirius as role models and still taking after his dad and for sirius to watch him grow into an adult without any major complex or traumas, cause as much as the way sirius is could be just his personality, there’s probably a lot of unpack trauma there too

like is he happy in a relationship outside of marriage? sure. did his parents marriage influence his views on the matter? maybe. maybe he doesn’t even know because, again: unpack trauma

sirius black is the king of remaining sane amongst any trouble, especially inner turbulences.

as for happy endings, i can totally see this being the right scenario for blackinnon staying together once and for all and who knows, maybe surprising all of their friend by getting married way into his older years!

i am definitely thinking black family during their kings in the north era or lannisters as we meet them in the books or targaryen/velaryion maybe as black/malfoy situation and for sirius to have his little moments of rebellion as a mix of arya/jon/cersei (she never liked being a pawn)/jaime (he basically put his father in checkmate)/many others whose names i don’t remember 😂

westeros is so fucking big though, there are a lot of places where the blacks could be situated in a powerful position and depending on where the blacks are, i can locate marlene

New chapter | Marauders: The Untold Story

Remus: I understand when people called James arrogant. It wasn’t really his fault being conceited. Only child, loving parents, a comfortable economic situation, who wouldn’t come out into the world thinking they deserve everything good in life? But as egotistical as he could be, he was also caring and kind-hearted.  Yes, I’m aware of how he and Sirius treated other people, especially when they were younger, but it’s not like they were mistreating someone vulnerable, they were messing with a bunch of other self-important, full of themselves, snooty kids. And they did change their ways in the end. Well, somewhat. You couldn’t be expected to make it into the music industry, especially during the seventies, and not be a little ruthless.  So yeah, James approached my concerns tactfully. He didn't want me to feel different, though we were, and by the end I didn’t even realize I was accepting his help. When we finally ended playing at their dance, I was wearing one of James’ old suits.  James: From that moment on, we became insufferable. In mine and Sirius' case, even more so than usual. But seeing Remus and Peter starting to believe in the band too, was amazing. We couldn’t shut up about it. Every weekend from then on we fought over who’s idea to give a try first, we were all so inspired.  At some point Hope lent us her record player. We took turns picking songs from Sirius’ collection and then tried them out on our instruments. Remus: We started changing the lyrics to the covers we played, then slowly one of us would change a chord or a beat, and then suddenly we were writing our first songs, not just obscene tunes anymore (stops, then laughs). A few of our songs turned out to be quite obscene, but you know what I meant, we didn’t feel like kids doing it anymore.

in the case i decide to make regulus as remus ex: sirius and remus talking about the whole tonks/regulus situation and sirius making jokes about it and regulus having found out about remus dating tonks cause they still share family icloud (if this is a muggle au)

peter and gilderoy aren’t married either as it wouldn’t be “on brand” for gilderoy who is a celebrity that thrives on gossip around his love life and peter keeps having to defend his relationship to his friends but maybe even possibly to himself a little too?

remus is recently divorce and his friends think his relationship with tonks is the product of a middle life crisis but is it really or he just found real love later in life in someone younger than him?
