Okay so this is definitely completely unrelated to basically anything related to this account, but what if I made a MyLight YouTube channel?

I've made vlogs and stuff before but I was thinking of making a new channel specifically for more Jewish-related stuff. Because I've realized that my college experience has been very closely tied with my Jewish on campus experience. Most of my social life is centered around being at Chabad, and most of my friends are from Chabad.

I don't know, it could be a fun/cute idea, but I also can't guarantee that I'll be posting with any consistency, since I'm usually pretty busy, but it could be fun to try posting every once in a while.

So um. Thoughts? I guess?

I saw some posters yesterday morning, I feared that this would happen but I’m not surprised…

Sickening!

Yesterday, some of my friends from Chabad went around and put up a bunch of hostage posters.

They put them all around campus, and I didn't even know.

Because already by this morning, the posters were gone. Taken down. By terrorist supporters who somehow find it offensive to spread awareness about people being held hostage.

Who find it offensive that they are forced to look the crimes of Hamas in the eye.

And then a few minutes ago, as we were tabling for Chabad, one of our people came and showed us that he found one of the posters, obviously ripped off.

This is hate. There is no other way to put it, and there is no justification for it.

This is antisemitism.

How are we, Jewish students, supposed to feel safe? Knowing that our peers place so little value on Jewish lives, to the point of ripping down posters of hostages?

Hey, to anyone who celebrates, happy Halloween! 🎃

It's a cruel subconscious ingraining of double standards, really. I absolutely suggest looking into actual, unbiased history of all this and only then can people reach an educated conclusion. But I doubt that many people would take that advice...

This probably won’t be super coherent, because I haven’t slept in 24 hours and I’m basically 80% caffeine, but I’ve been thinking about how western (usually white, though not always) goyim get mad whenever a Jew says “antizionism is usually a cover for antisemitism.” And how their answer is always, “my problem is Israel! Not Jews!”

Because here’s the thing: the west has a long, long history of culturally ingrained antisemitism. You may not think your hatred towards Israel and the diaspora Jews who have any connection to Israel is because it’s a Jewish state. But society has subconsciously primed you from birth to see Jews as inherently shady liars who have all the power and money and control, and who claim victimhood to hide this. You have been groomed to mistrust us, to see us as oppressors, to see us as intrinsically unethical. And you are aware that Israel is a Jewish state, regardless of whether you consciously think it matters. So when literally anything goes down in Israel/Palestine? Your first thought isn’t that these are two marginalized groups of people who were forced into the situation by both the west and the Middle East, then pitted against each other. Your first thought is that of course the Israelis are evil oppressors. They’re over-privileged white colonizers who have all the power and money and control. We need to make sure they all leave Israel, live under a second age of pogroms, or die (which they won’t, according to you, because they’re rich white people with a mansion in New Jersey). And you may believe that you don’t feel this way because they’re Jewish, but you don’t seem to realize that it’s the subconscious, ingrained antisemitism that not only leads you to all of these conclusions, but that also leads you to independently attach historically diaspora-focused antisemitic tropes—tropes that’s existed for thousands of years and have nothing to do with Israel—to Israelis and beyond.

And then you wonder why we don’t trust you.

It’s because these people who support the enemy for the sake of “social justice” are absolute hypocrites of their own words!

That’s why people are going out on rallies that are really against the Jews, it’s just painted as if there’s a different picture!

For rational human beings to protest in support of terrorists who murder women and children, and behead babies is unheard of making this world a crazy place now. It's sad evil and barbarism is becoming a norm.

Ever since late middle school I've been weary on telling people that I'm Jewish. There weren't much others like me in my city other than my family and two other people in my high school.

With all the blatant anti-semitism throughout the years (especially now), I'm just tired, angry, low on hopes.

I guess it's become ingrained within my people that they expect they will be hurt and prosecuted from outsiders and others that have no idea what they are talking about. I'm angry that it's still happening, that even now many Goyim (non-Jews) choose to be ignorant and turn their nose away, simply because it’s not happening to them so “it’s not relevant” to them or some other BS excuse of theirs!!

Jewish culture is being terrified to tell people that you're jewish, even those who claim to be supportive, because of how rampet anti-semetism is

(Note that I'm actually half jewish but that I've been really in my jewish identity lately for obvious reasons)

To all the terrorist supporters: You all are only playing yourselves. You clearly have no differentiation between “freedom fighters” and actual monsters. Even at a time when your voices are needed most, you just turn your nose away from the chaos, the hurt, the tragedies against an entire population of people!!

But go on, keep denying. We will keep note of that when it’s over that you’d all rather focus on minor inconveniences rather than people getting slaughtered before your very eyes!!
