The sun came up today.

The sun came up today, and it will come up tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that. The world did not end, even if it feels like it. We are not at the end of history — this is a fight that has been ongoing since the dawn of civilization. It will continue past the extinction of humans and into whatever species inherits the earth after us, over and over, until our sun dies and our planet becomes cold and quiet.

And maybe, even then, it will continue.

Feel your emotions. Know them, understand them, embrace them. Then turn them into action. Find somewhere — anywhere — to volunteer. Talk to your neighbors. Attend your council and school board meetings. VOTE, in ever election, in every race, no matter what.

Tend to your wounds, then get back into the fight.
