so this has been sitting in my wip folder since a few days before mother’s day.

Cas doesn’t really know what it’s like to have a mother, of course, but he heard it was someone who protects you, loves you and takes care of you. so it’s purely logical to give Dean this, right?

not pictured: Dean choking up (discretely) and masking the roughness in his voice by loudly praising Cas for his mad skillz and giving him a bearhug. Sam wisely doesn’t comment when Dean frames the pic and mounts it on the livingroom wall.

Sam needs to tell Dean and Castiel something, but while he and Gabriel wait to break the news that they have been dating for the past 6 months, Cas and Dean have a plan of their own.
