I Dont See Why I Cant Start A Trend, So Here Goes. Lets Try To Build Back Our Attention Spans. Lets Try

i dont see why i cant start a trend, so here goes. lets try to build back our attention spans. lets try to focus on just one thing for as long as possible. lets not watch those "asmr for people with adhd" videos where they fuck up adhd folks even worse. lets resist the urge to reach for our phones when watching a movie. lets read the articles we reblog, even when theyre boring. i know its hard, i have adhd too, but its worth it. i also know that this hard work doesnt always seem super impressive to other people, so id love for yall to tell me in the tags or replies if youve done something, no matter how small, for your attention span. you deserve to feel like youve taken back some of what social media has ripped from you

And Like The Fourth Horseman Of The Apocalypse, I’ve Been Reminded,

And like the fourth horseman of the apocalypse, I’ve been reminded,

there’s always a fourth, purple one, to round it all out.

Making a realization rn

first we saw the revival of Alastor’s popularity from the new Hazbin show

Then illumination, in the year 2024, granted us a green, failboy, villain that tumblr has now grappled onto and made into a twink

The hype before and after the Book of Bill has granted artists the oppurtunity to draw many a human cipher (both the canon look and not) as well as pines x bill yaoi (thank god this time doesn’t involve a minor)

what I’m saying is

We’re in the middle of a Tumblr Sexyman Renaissance, huh?

am I the only one who doesn’t particularly love modern Mario graphics? Like so much of it feels too clean and rubbery like a bathtub toy

biggest reason I didn’t like Mario Wonder was because it felt like that issue x5. Like it looks like if someone remembered super Mario bros Wii and it was more colorful than it actually was. I do like some of the new enemies and stuff but to me I just did not get the hype around wonder and I do not care for it really. If they killed off Wonder I’d be uncaring and unfeeling.

The recent Mario Parties have the same issue, like I straight up can’t differentiate between Mario Party Jamboree and Superstars and super Mario party like if you put a gun to my head and told me which is which I’d die.

the only games in recent times I think aren’t as bad in this super squeaky clean aspect is the Mario RPG remake (it feels like there’s texture on buildings and streets and whatnot, it’s less like I’m looking at a fisher price toy), Princess Peach Showtime, the Paper Mario Remake and Luigi’s Mansion 3

that’s all to say I really like the art style of the OG super Mario RPG, and the Mario and Luigi games, and we should embrace grit, texture, and pixels once more.

So I see you all are exhausted by streaming services effectively recreating cable. I see you’re all tired of ads. Pirating is a great alternative, but I have another fantastic option for you all!

So I See You All Are Exhausted By Streaming Services Effectively Recreating Cable. I See You’re All

I live in Seattle. And in Seattle we have America’s largest physical media store, Scarecrow Video. They are a non-profit that has pretty much any film or tv show you can imagine. Like, everything. So much so that one of our local cinemas does a program with them called “Unstreamable” where they show a film from Scarecrow’a archive that you can’t access anywhere online. It’s a bit overwhelming to go to their store, which is two levels of every program under the sun.

So I See You All Are Exhausted By Streaming Services Effectively Recreating Cable. I See You’re All

ANYWAY, I bring this up because they recently started a Rent-by-Mail program. It’s pretty similar to what Netflix used to do. You can rent up to six titles (barring their super rare stuff and pornos) and they will ship it to you, then you return it in the included pre-paid envelope.

Why does this rock? Sure, you still have to pay money, BUT you are supporting a non-profit that is dedicated to preserving media instead of some corporation looking for endless profit. They can also expand your palette with their vast selection. And if you have a favorite piece of media, you never have to worry about it disappearing! All their stuff is there in perpetuity.

So this is all to say, now that Scarecrow has expanded their reach beyond the Greater Seattle Area, I implore you to check them out. If you don’t want to rent right now, the could always use donations to keep them afloat.

You can check out their catalogue HERE!

“Lots Of Artists Can Fill Their Work With Aching Homosexual Tension, But No One Else Can Make The Impending

“Lots of artists can fill their work with aching homosexual tension, but no one else can make the impending sodomy look quite as classy and exquisitely dressed as Leyendecker can.” - source

Before Rockwell, a Gay Artist Defined the Perfect American Male “Nobody had to tell J.C. Leyendecker that sex sells. Before the conservative backlash of the mid-20th century, the American public celebrated his images of sleek muscle-men, whose glistening homo-eroticism adorned endless magazine covers. Yet Leyendecker’s name is almost forgotten, whitewashed over by Norman Rockwell’s legacy of tame, small-town Americana.

“Rockwell was just an 11-year old kid when Leyendecker created the legendary “Arrow Collar Man” in 1905, used to advertise the clothing company’s miraculous detachable collars. One of America’s first recognizable sex symbols, this icon of masculinity was defined by his poise and perfection, whether on the sports field or at the dinner table. Like the Gibson Girl, the Arrow Collar Man developed a singular identity, equal parts jock and dandy, who supposedly received more fan letters than silent film heartthrob Rudolph Valentino. To top things off, Leyendecker’s men were often modeled after his lover and lifetime companion, Charles Beach, making their secret romance a front-page feature across the U.S.”

Lovely supporter, I hope this message finds you and your family in good health and high spirits.

This is Eman Zaqout a Biotechnologist and PhD student from Gaza. I've started a fundraising campaign and urgently need your help to spread it to the world, after losing my house and my job in the genocide in Gaza and living in a life that you can't bear watch it behind screens.

I hope you can take a look at my campaign on the pinned post on my profile, and help us by donating or sharing our campaign to reach the largest number of supporters.

Thank you for your continuous help for the Palestinian cause until freedom is achieved.

Please know that our campaign is verified by @90-ghost, @aces-and-angels

Of course! Anything I can do to help!

Please go to their gofundme’s and donate what you can! Or just reboot to spread the word!
