Since the intruder is like a father figure to Adam what if it was like a toxic relationship like the Intruder does want to be a father figure despite him being an alternate type and Adam wants to reject it no matter how hard he tries he wants to reject that he's an alternate or the next Antichrist. If not gabrial will kill Adam and torture him for all eternity. So Adam is forced to comply.
