or I'm just incredibly tired.
Everytime I have heard bells today my brain decides that it's an ice cream truck.
A mutual of mine told me to post this Doctor Who analysis I wrote of season 1, episode 6: Dalek.
"You would make a good Dalek" Right now, the doctor has just fought the last time war, his species is seemingly all dead expect him. And yet, the creature- that machine that still persists - tells him that he would be one of the "good" of their species for telling it bluntly to kill itself.
As much as the doctor is all for saving lives, we see a much darker version of him, literally and figuratively, through the lens of a Dalek.
Throughout the whole episode we see the masterfully put together story of how the Dalek and the doctor are in some extraordinary way, the same. The doctor can deny it all he wants, but it is the truth in this moment. And it crushes him. Because he also must believe he should be dead as well as the Dalek. A soldier with no orders.
No idea if I'm neurotypical or not, but this deserves a reblog
ngl I thought the puzzle piece as an autistic symbol meant like. I am a vital puzzle piece to your society. humans would never have invented half the things they did without us. you're telling me it means I'm missing something?? buddy. listen. listen to me reeeeaal closely. no human has all the pieces to humanity. no one. no one has all the features enables no one has all the strengths weaknesses or quirks. no one has a whole puzzle. we make the freaking complete picture together. that's the freaking point.
It's the button to turn off Tumblr premium.
hey what the fuck is this
Please be aware that the "opt-out" choice is just a way to try to appease people. But Tumblr has not been transparent about when has data been sold and shared with AI companies, and there are sources that confirm that data has already been shared before the toggle was even provided to users.
Also, it seems to include data they should not have been able to give under any circumstance, including that of deactivated blogs, private messages and conversations, stuff from private blogs, and so on.
Do not believe that "AI companies will honor the "opt-out request retroactively". Once they've got their hands on your data (and they have), they won't be "honoring" an opt-out option retroactively. There is no way to confirm or deny what data do they have: The fact they are completely opaque on what do they currently "own" and have, means that they can do whatever they want with it. How can you prove they have your data if they don't give everyone free access to see what they've stolen already?
So, yeah, opt out of data sharing, but be aware that this isn't stopping anyone from taking your data. They already have been taking it, before you were given that option. Go and go to Tumblr's Suppport and leave your Feedback on this (politely, but firmly- not everyone in the company is responsible for this.)
Finally: Opt out is not good under any circumstance. Deactivated people can't opt out. People who have lost their passwords can't opt out. People who can't access internet or computers can't opt out. People who had their content reposted can't opt out. Dead people can't opt out. When DeviantArt released their AI image generator, saying that it wasn't trained on people who didn't consent to it, it was proven it could easily replicate the styles of people who had passed away, as seen here. So, yeah. AI companies cannot be trusted to have any sort of respect for people's data and content, because this entire thing is just a data laundering scheme.
Please do reblog for awareness.
Only just realised y'all can see my likes and not just reblogs... safe to say, I have nothing to say... it was just kinda cringe.
i hate the stereotype that ALL aroaces are loveless because like.. no??
Loveless people are amazing and extremely valid, but I'm certainly not one of them.
I personally am extremely aroace and extremely loving. God was like "ah shit we forgot to put romantic and sexual attraction in this mf let's just platonically supercharge them to make up for it".
And to me personally, my aroace identity goes hand in hand with my being extremely platonically loving. The two aren't opposing forces, they're joined hand in hand, interwoven through each other to make a beautiful patterned fabric filled with many different beautiful colours.
My best friends are the loves of my life. They're my platonic soulmates. I would want to spend the rest of my life with them. I adore everything about them, and try to help their best side shine through so that everyone else can see their wonderful glimmer. I could spent eternity hanging out with my best friends and never run out of social energy because I don't have to attempt to conform or hide the weirder shades of my personality. Just being around them is so easy and freeing and just always fills me with such joy.
But oh, because I don't want to kiss them it's not real love and somehow less meaningful than romance???
Fuck off, amatonormativity.
(THIS POST IS NOT TO BE USED AGAINST LOVELESS AROACES IN ANY WAY, EVER. YOU GUYS ARE VALID, YOU'RE ICONIC AND YOU NEED MORE APPRECIATION. SENDING INFINITE GOOD VIBES YOUR WAY.)
The fact that Sally said "you're not broken" to Percy is a line to every nuerodivergent kid.
Because I know that there are so many of us who have thought that we are broken because we see the world differently and the world tells us we are.
And then we have someone like Sally Jackson to tell us all that we're not. That we are not broken, simply in a broken system.
Hearing constantly about gifted autistic kids and people seeing it as THEE autistic trait has completely disregarded those who aren’t gifted and made a HUGE divide in the community. Seeing constantly “yeah autistic people are usually gifted” is so annoying because a VERY large chunk of autistic people, aren’t actually gifted and media has just put the gifted people at the front because they’re more palatable. The “autistic gifted kid burnout” has become more so a trend than anything and I’ve seen a lot of people assume they’re autistic because they are the “gifted kid burnout person” when that isn’t even a requirement for an autism diagnosis. You don’t have to be gifted to be autistic. You don’t have to be!!
Start putting the people who struggle more in the spotlight. Those with intellectual disabilities, those with learning disabilities, those with cognitive disabilities, those who are just generally stereotypically “dumb” and embrace it!
We need to have a very big discussion about this as a community and it needs to start today.
If I ever create / start a band I do it with the intention of one day being able to just yell something mundane like "grain of sand" in such a compelling way it shatters someone's kneecaps.
Once me and my friends were hungover and we watched ‘shaun the sheep movie’ and it made us nearly cry like wtf the sheep start doing a song for their farmer and its emotional, and then they almost all die at one point, we weren’t prepared emotionally, Shaun the sheep movie is one of the most intense movies ever made
