my Snuffy & Lorenzo fic using this characterization
Snuffy is the epitome of the word 'control'. From his motto to the use of his body with its perfect, calibrated balance on the field in the form of jiu jitsu (elements of which were also utilised by logic genius Sherlock Holmes in Conan Doyle's fictional style).
Snuffy controls everything from the individual strengths of his players to their place in his strategies, while also building all of his logic on a solid, confident base: for example, when constructing his team at Ubers he goes by the club's tradition and builds it on defence rather than attack. Even Lorenzo was raised by him to be flexible and adaptable (and most importantly, with the understanding that the most important thing is not to win, but to live), which can be seen in his attitude to the game - both serious and entertaining at the same time. And capable of accepting both losing and winning with dignity.
He controls even personal relationships, clearly defining the conditions for both sides, their benefits and losses - where it would seem that there should be no room for formalities. And if about Barou this could be hardly regarded to the football, then with the starving Lorenzo everything is a bit more complicated.
And I think it's obvious to everyone that this not entirely healthy level of control, going far beyond the boundaries of dedication, grew out of his trauma from Mick's death and their failure.
It's evident even in his relationship with the characters closest to him, Lorenzo and Barou. Through them both - two people so similar to Mick Moon (Lorenzo in appearance in his homeless era, Barou in both appearance and personality) - Snuffy recreates his trauma in an attempt to rewrite it with a happier ending. The kind of thing that Barou gets a glimpse of and is rightly angry about.
Of course this is hardly fully realised, only partly - in life, for example, kids who were bullied in their childhood sometimes become teachers. And then they stop the bullying near them as working adults, giving the new kids the happy ending they once deserved. And that's exactly Snuffy's case: he saves his players from a fate he himself couldn't avoid. He's willing to keep them as safe as he can control, growing them in almost hothouse conditions, which is exactly what Barou hates. So much so that he's easily willing to take the blame if they fail.
But at the same time, which makes perfect sense for such a person, Snuffy hates it when things get out of control, especially when there is deliberate sabotage - which is actually what Noa is teasing him about. I'd even go so far as to say that Snuffy is the kind of person who can only focus on a far-reaching goal by completely ignoring the unimportant things along the way - for example, he saved Lorenzo's life, but it seems they never talked about the fact that he didn't have to play football for Snuffy to love him, and that "worth" of his isn't that important.
Remember how Snuffy reacts to Barou's attempts to get out of his control and break his patterns: he's full of cold fury. That look is far scarier than shouting and punishment.
Because through Barou's prism Snuffy sees both his and Mick's paths. And most of all Snuffy is terrified of falling back into that helplessness - when he wasn't prepared for the event that broke his life in two. An event over which he had no control.
But it would seem impossible to be prepared for such an event. It's like a natural disaster and a terrorist attack - it's something that tears the usual fabric of life apart.
But when has that ever stopped anyone, right?
So Snuffy, in the moment of tragedy that destroyed his past, felt that he had a duty to anticipate everything. He had to know how and where to act, find the right words for Mick, save the careers of both of them, and basically hold the world on his shoulders so that it wouldn't break them apart.
It's terribly cruel and certainly unfair upon himself - but that's the way trauma works.
And that's why the journey he takes with Barou's help is so satisfying and liberating. Blue Lock does show overcoming one's traumas and chains visually and vividly very well - and how, with Barou's help, Snuffy was able to transcend his limitations, rising like a phoenix from the ashes, is perceived both visually and consciously, because it's relatable.
Because a person who is able to prepare for everything, to expect both loss and failure in advance, who knows exactly all his skills and advantages....
...also clearly sees the limitations of his body and mind. He simply cannot go beyond them - because he controls himself so much that he unwittingly limits himself, almost self-sabotaging - just to stay on predictable, familiar ground.
Logic is incapable of improvisation.
And this is what Barou is talking about - and what he teaches Snuffy anew, re-igniting his desire to live and play.
He shows Snuffy again that both life and football are made up of unpredictable moments - those where you are happy that something unexpected has happened that you weren't waiting for, those where you amaze yourself by going beyond your limits, those where you are happy and at the peak. Those where you need logic, but where you can't build your victory and happiness on it alone. Because happiness is in illogicality and unpredictability.
These moments are the things a person's destiny consists of.
The moments that Mick Moon lived for.
And the moments for which Marc Snuffy survived and rose again.

Noel Noa spooning you from behind, one of his hands on your stomach and his other arm is stretched out for your head to use as a pillow. His face is resting on the meeting point of your shoulder and your neck, his breath ever so slightly warming the skin there. The blanket is cocooned over the two of you, creating a pocket of warmth.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Lavinho lays on your front as the two of you nap. His left hand is underneath your bum, holding you firmly to him. His right hand is intertwined with your left hand. His face is unseen as he is face first in your chest, your clothing hardly allowing for him to feel the warmth of your body- but he doesn’t mind. Your legs are loosely wrapped the back of his thighs, a comfortable stretch for you and a safe embrace for him.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Marc Snuffy laying flat on his back on the bed. You in the space between his arm and body, so warm and secure. His arm wrapped around your body was petting you, running along your side until he fell asleep. Now it’s still in the dip of your waist, a weighted presence that further lulls you into the land of dreams. Your head is smushed against his chest, his firm pec providing the stability you need. His other hand was holding a magazine, the latest edition of a European football team that frequents the brand, now sprawled on the bed long forgotten.

Julian Loki sitting on the couch. You silently sleeping between his legs. The foot rest giving the two of you much preferred leg space for occasional stretches before getting back to sleeping together. His arms hugging you close to his own body. The blanket covering your back takes ever so slightly on Loki too. The perfect leisure temperature.

Chris Prince hugging your waist. Your still fingers in his hair, tangled in his blonde strands from playing with it. His face was pressing into your stomach, your womb proving to be the best sort of pillow for Chris- especially when he’s feeling needy. The blanket is haphazardly strung along his body, his bare muscles contrasting with the thick material every deep breath he takes

Julian Loki & Charles Chevalier’s dynamic: patience
Julian Loki is so incredibly patient with Charles that it’s almost endearing with how Loki responds to Charle’s contrarian attitude. Julian repeatedly tries to redirect Charles to get the kid to focus on taking his ‘homework’ and football seriously. And while this is inevitably for Loki’s own future benefit, he gentle parents Charles so well. This is seen when he counteracts Charles’ contrarian system to trick him into listening to him (I’ll put an image of the panel.) Julian doesn’t raise his voice, resort to violent or degrading words, or physically harm Charles-except for kicking a soccer ball at his shoulder/head lol unlike some characters (I’m looking at you Michael.) During the current PXG vs BM match when Charles asks to be subbed out because he has no interest in playing any longer in chap. 259, Julian is still speaking calmly and controlling himself even though this has shown to anger him.
Julian Loki’s coaching mannerisms: politeness
This one panel in Chapter 246 really stood out to me so I wanted to include it.
After the PXG vs Barca match, Julian and the French team have a post game meeting in the locker room. Loki debriefed the team (starting by praising the whole team with quote, “good job today, everyone.”) and gave them personalized ‘homework’ or critiques to help them improve as an individual player. This was normal, I thought. What stood out to me was how polite and formal his speech was. There were no single digs or transgressions at all. There was no harshness or abrasiveness at all either. Everything was rather soft spoken, with ‘please’s and suggestions. I thought that was rather refreshing, to see he’s a teenage boy with manners. He’s always had manners though, since when he and Isagi met for the first time, Isagi was able to pick up on his politeness (as discussed in Part 1.) It makes me feel as though he was raised right with a good set of parents, he’s probably a mama’s boy.
I also think that it’s worth mentioning how much I doubt that he will use the star system to enter the PXG vs BM match. I doubt he’s entered like all the other masters except for Noa in the previous PXG matches, and since he has already declared minimal interest in the league itself there is no way he would join the match. He doesn’t gain anything by doing this, and it also shows his restraint. His mindset his precisely why he doesn’t stand to gain anything if he were to join the match. Unlike Chris Prince, he doesn’t want to stand out and upstage the other players. Unlike Marc Snuffy, he doesn’t want to enforce his control and strategies over his players by joining their ranks. So cool to think about in my opinion. He’s more calm and collected, like Noel Noa. Noel wouldn’t gain anything by joining the match either. The only reason he joined the previous matches was to stop the other master strikers and limit their influence on the field’s plays and players.

OKAY! Next part I’ll actually talk about him being an older sibling bc I haven’t said squat about that yet in two posts of analysis ranting lol
I feel like as a blue lock content creator, mainly writing, I do have to at least acknowledge and speak about the situation caiimeal has posted about. I was reached out to by an anonymous blog and I looked at both caiimeal and vmlnrz’s content; and I do agree with what caiimeal has said.
I’m only trying to bring awareness to the situation because I personally pride myself on being a goody two shoes both morally and academically. It genuinely makes me annoyed when I talk to one of my mates abt an assignment and they say smth like, ‘oh I just used ChatGPT and copy and pasted.’ Like dude. I don’t think I’ll ever understand folks that use ai for things and take the credit. It’s not that hard to not be a lazy individual if you really think about the effort you aren’t putting into whatever you’re using Ai for and the effort you are putting in to cheating your way through whatever it is you’re doing. And ai has been proven to be less reliable and credible than people originally thought, so I just don’t see the use of Ai in certain situations, especially like this.
Being a content creator is great, but why are you one if you aren’t going to share any organic thoughts you have yourself? I’d personally feel very limited if I did that and just relied on something else to create my work. This is also (at least it feels like that to me) a breach in trust and can raise questions of credibility to other creators too, which can further harm the blue lock fandom’s environment on tumblr ya know?
That being said I’m not trying to get in the line of fire iykwim I’m not directly involved in any way, shape, or form, this is just my two bits on the matter 👍

PROOF UNDER THE CUT.
First, I have put their recent synopsis, which I found suspicious, in three trusted AI detector websites, and here are the results.
100%, 99%, and 79% , which are pretty high numbers.
But, let us say that they are just a very good writer and somehow managed to use words that triggered the detectors. Let us ask Chatgpt to create a synopsis similar to what her story is about.
I asked twice (in poor language to give the 'writer' an advantage), just in case. again- it somehow managed to wrong our guest here. Compare the highlighted texts in the AI website with the highlighted texts in the work they posted. Shocker! The moment I read those words I felt suspicious.
If you read @/vmlnrz's writings, it may seem very unatural- robotic, even. At least that is what I felt when reading through their work, and it gave me second-hand embarrassment seeing their responses to all the compliments they receive and the huge amount of notes they get compared to other writers who write their own work.
So, I picked out a part of their writing. The very beginning.
Then, I asked Chatgpt to create a similar scene. Again, with poor grammar and language.
Like I said, if you go through their writing, it all seems very unnatural with many words and figurative writing that AI is likely to use.
Also, I have read through their smut works, and they do not really seem suspicious. However, that makes complete sense because Chatgpt and most other AIs do not allow sexual content, so our guest is forced to write it themselves. Also, their smut work is only foreplay because they claim they cannot write the actual 18+ content well-- which may be true, they may not be lying-- but it's just something to think about and keep in mind.
Please, do not send hate to our guest.
Sorry for tag spamming.
Look at this panel of Ego from chapter 8
Now look at Barou's shirt number. He has a 10 but...
Reading it from right to left is 01! Just like in Ego's panel!! (Keep this in mind while reading now, please)
Now, for context, in chapter 7, team X (Barous team) had to play against team Z (Isagi's team), a match that Ego called as "The battle to rebuild football from zero".
Barou's and Isagi's team were a complete mess because they all wanted to score, which made them all start stealing the ball from their own teammates.
This messy state stops the moment Barou scores, turning the score from 0 to 1, rebuilding his team order, and taking control over the game.
Barou was the "1" of team X. Barou was the cornerstone of the team around which they'd developed their strategies to win against Isagi.
*
(Doesn't sound familiar? Kaiser has a 10 on his uniform, and BM had him as his cornerstone too. Noa practically trained them while having Kaiser in mind as the focal point of their strategies to scores goals 0.0)
Now, after that, Bachira and Isagi decide that if their going to lose (which happened at the end), they must at least score one goal. Isagi was going to be the one to score until Kunigami asked Isagi for the ball, and Isagi passed it to him, letting him have the opportunity to score instead.
Now let's take a look at Kunigami's dorsal number!
It's a 9! He scored a goal so... 9+1=10!
10! just like Barou's dorsal number! and remember the first panel I showed of Ego and the one of Barou! Read 10 from right to left -> 01. Kunigami became the "1" of team Z turning when he turned the score from 0 to 1!
Now... why is this "becoming the 1" so relevant in these chapters? Let's look at chap.6 title:
"1 = Individual"
In other official translations, like the Spanish one, instead of individual they translated it to "individuality" and I find it more correct than individual. Although both could work depending on the context so I'll use both.
(If anybody has the Japanese translation, please tell me or correct me. I don't know how to find them :'D)
Back to the meaning of the "1", if the title of chap.6 is stating a fact in Blue Lock's world (that 1 = individual/individuality) then characters that have a 10 as their dorsal number could mean or represent that those characters are the embodiment of individuality / their own individual.
I believe this is true because Isagi's lesson in these chapters was to be his own individual, to reject that initial idea he had of always passing the ball to his teammates instead of being him the one to score. To "embrace" his individual desire of scoring a goal and "have his moment."
Barou tells him that in his own way and Isagi also notices that he hadn't changed that habit yet:
The fact that Barou was the one who told him this was no coincidence!!
He's the "1" of the team, the cornerstone. The only footballer that embodies his own individual and this individuality is one of a king. His own teammates recognise him as such.
Isagi himself says that Barou doesn't start from zero like the rest. He's straight up the 1!
* (Look at the panels above. The ones with a red asterisk on top. In those panels, Isagi says that Barou was the "1" right away. Tumblr image limit doesn't let me put more images, sorry😔)
Now... What I'm trying to prove with all this is 2 things about the meaning of the number on their dorsals:
the number 10 has something to do with the concepts of individuality / individual (1 = individual / individuality). It could mean the character embodies his own concept of individuality or has a clear idea of themselves as an individual, like Barou in these first chapters* seeing himself as "The King".
*he later on gets his ideals crushed by Isagi but that doesn't take away the fact that he had a clear perception of his individuality before so i think the point still stands.
the number 9 could represent a character who's potentially going to develop a sense of individuality or that they're evolving their previous idea of individuality. Like I showed before with Kunigami, who had a 9 in his dorsal, and after scoring, he turned the 0 into a 1 for the team, making him become the "1" *
*it wasn't as relevant to the plot or for Kunigami's character because they lost the match but I think, and if my point is right, the author still gave him the opportunity to score for 2 possible reasons:
to establish this dynamic of individuality and on the process to achieve individuality and
as a trigger for Isagi's seach for his own individuality.*
My gosh, how many times have I written "individual" and "individuality" already😭
* BTW, I think Isagi is still struggling with this thing of finding his individual self on the field despite having grown a lot from chap.1 to current chapters, and I think chap.281 proves this:
* The difference now is that he's now competing against the best of the best players what I think is a correct path for him since he's been thinking that he's one of them for a long time now... and that's definitely not the case. He still needs a lot to learn (this gives me hopes because the author might give his character more depth, but maybe I'm delusional).
Now, back to what i was saying. To prove my point properly I'd have to look for every relevant character on the manga that has these numbers on their dorsals and argue how they are depictions of this dynamic (I could do it in multiple parts while I'm now rereading the manga but I'd take me time since I've got a long way until I reach current chapters.)
Also❕️
I mainly wrote this because I feel like it works with Kaiser and Noa's dynamic, or it could be related somehow (I'll make it relate, idc, this has gotten longer than i thought)
The reason I believe this it's because of these panels of them:
Noa has the number 9
Kaiser has the number 10
Noa states that he's constantly evolving, that the title of the best was not something he was looking forward to. This puts Noa in a constant state of potentially achieving a new sense of individuality... Like he's constantly creating and destroying every new individual he reaches.
The thing with Noa is that he does not care about him being perceived by the rest as an specific "individual", he doesn'tcare about titles.
The world gave him the title of Number 1 (of the "1" I've been yapping about this whole time) but he doesn't recognise it. He actually believes that the real threat is MBappe- Loki (AND LOKI DOES HAVE THE NUMBER 10 ON HIS DORSAL!!1!1!1)
Now my glorious blue eyed king Kaiser has always been the "1" of BM (and of my heart) but it was because of Noa's plan.
Now Kaiser has rejected Noa's plan, creating his new story, hence, creating his own individual / acknowledging his own individuality. Kaiser is turning the 0 to a 1, his "zero self" into a goal (however it was blocked by Loki, another individual just like Kaiser. They basically clash because they're both the "1" of their respective teams).
If I'm right, this could possibly mean that if BM wins this match, it will due to Kaiser's goal, making him be the "1" of his team and proving, through soccer to Noa, that he is his own individual.
.
.
.
Now, I think I'll leave it here because this is already long and I don't want it to be longer (I've also reached the image limit so I can't properly prove my points if I don't show the source of them, i feel like I'm lying lol)
This post was inspired by @mvrdermeharder (Hiiii, i hope im not bothering you by @ you here!) posts about the dorsal's numbers. I liked them lot so go check them too please! :)
❕️This post is only my take on this topic since I also think they have meaning, so this was just my interpretation❕️
If anyone has read this until the end let me just tell you that ily and let's be mutuals if we aren't yet🫶
Also @lorenzobbg you wanted me to @ so HELLOO I hope you enjoy this silly analysis if you read it<33
I love snuffy so much because it really shows you what it feels like to be on the other side of extreme egoistic ideology with no balance. Snuffy and Isagi are rational egoists, people who understand that you cant be a bigheaded jackass all the time and that only practice makes perfect. But with Isagi..hes still just starting out. He has only seen overshooting amd overestimating on small scales ro the point where most times HE looks like the villan crushing peoples small hopes..
And ego is just pushing this further and further, altering the bllk boys mindsets and what Isagi deems as success. He isn't really giving them any back ups because similar to Mick's situation..once you get a taste for a certain amount of success you can't fathom dialing it back even if you're set to crash and burn from how little you're taking care of yourself.
Snuffy has seen this play out. He's seen this type of behavior. And for the first time in the main blue lock story it's being shown through another character in a nefarious and truly dangerous light. Like we all laugh at the weird kinda cringe lines that Isagi says but it hasn't been contextualized in story yet because no one else thinks it's weird to say shit like
Well that. So for Snuffy to be so adverse to and cautious of that go big or you've completely failed mentality is so refreshing. Between that and Noa's "You aren't God." line and Chris warning the boys about not listening to their body I think the mentor arc is really meant to recontextualize their behavior and show the downsides of this ideology and how bad it fails when it does.
Noel Noa is the type of man to have a spreadsheet dedicated to you.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
There would be things listed such as your favorite foods, colors, flowers, animals, and clothing brands. Your dislikes get their own column too; with a ranking out of 10 how much you don’t like a certain thing. For specific things there are even little reasoning statements as to why you feel that way about something. There are future date itineraries that are roughly filled in, but that’s for another time as he hasn’t quite yet brought up to you about going on a date again.
So when you mention something small and trivial about yourself; Noel would glance at you and quietly hum something like, “you’ve told me how much you don’t like Chris Prince before, ever since he was featured on a television screen we were at the airport for (blah blah blah idk).” And you respond with an, “oh,” since you don’t remember ever having that conversation with him.
He’d try to make sure you never found this out though, wanting to keep it as his own homage to his partner.

Noel Noa SFW Headcanons
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Takes his coffee black. This was the first way he had ever tried coffee when he was an older teenager; all of the add ins he tried later just never gave him the same feeling. The bitterness of the drink is enough to shock his body into a reactive state. If you ever offer him coffee, he requests some milk in it.
He prefers to dress more formally when the situation calls for it. By this, if he is going to a meeting with his club team it means he will be wearing a suit. The elegance of fashion and the social status of what you wear is most definitely not lost on him. It is a noisy static in his mind until he wears something more classy.
When he is in the solace of his own home, his guilt pleasure is to stay in his pajamas as long as he can. He just got home from practice at 8am? He’s putting back on his fuzzy pants. He got back from his morning workout he does during off days? The thick socks he wore to sleep are coming back on once he showers. He just arrived home during lunch hour? His sleeping sweater was on him by the time you stepped foot in the door. He does value his comfortableness in more private settings.
He is both a dog and a cat person. His stoic nature draws sweet, stray felines towards him weekly whether he’s out in the streets of Germany or France. The way cats will purr so loud he can hear them when he’s standing tugs at his heart, though he never mentions it. (He would so let a cat just climb up him like a tree). Dogs don’t really come up to him the way cats do, yet when he sees one out and about he is always tempted to ask the dog’s owner if he could pet the animal.
He doesn’t much like bread. It was one of the few things he was able to eat somewhat frequently during his early childhood in the ghettos of France. That bread will always taste different than the bread he has available to him now to eat, but the feeling of dirty grit will never leave his mind.
He takes pride in his title of the world’s best striker. It gratifies him to look at his teammates and his opponents and think to himself, ‘I’m the best forward there is here.’ About them both alike. He is somewhat humble, though. It’s only when his title is being threatened or ignored does he feel the need to be a total force of dominance on the field.
Can be seen as a slightly sore winner sometimes. The success and privilege that comes with winning a popularity vote, a league game, etc fulfills a dead space in him. To know he has worked hard enough to be the best and he got what he trained to earn is a feeling he will chase forever. It changed his life, gave him a life worth living for. So he when you come up to him saying it was unneeded for him to point out to another soccer player that he has the title of worlds best striker and he is the favorite to win the upcoming finals game for their league in a couple weeks; a ghost of a smile graces his face as he squeezes your hand.
He didn’t quite realize he was perfectly ambidextrous until he tried shooting a soccer ball with his supposed non dominant foot and it was just as easy and smooth as his other foot. This was where he began to plan, to get motivated to use soccer as a way to better his life.
Because of the ambidextrous quality in both his legs and arms, he is able to learn ball control movements and tactics at a faster rate. He’s also able to write very well with both hands, however his right hand has neater handwriting. He uses his phone in his left hand.
Enjoys intelligent conversations. The bounce back and forth between him and another person about whatever topic. Doesn’t actually need to be a topic that is only for those of a higher intellect to understand, it can be anything you are passionate and knowledgeable about. How they are able to articulate their thoughts and understandings and show Noel through speech or body language. It is engaging and he wants to know all of what you think and feel at this moment. It will forever outweigh the basic question-answer format he can get accustomed to in interviews.
Like Marc Snuffy, he does view football as a job. He has to in a sense. In the early days of his career, he had to be diligent and desperate to stand up above the sea of other players. He had to work harder than everyone else on the field, he had to work faster than everyone else on the field, he had to need football more than everyone else. He tries to carry this drive with him even in the peak of his football career, he won’t allow them to shelve him- not yet.
Unlike Marc Snuffy, Noel doesn’t try to rope in his whole team to create a ‘work force’ per se. He makes sure everyone on his team that plays either with him or with his name brand is a competent, driven, and rational person on the field. They do go over play strategies he’s, but he is sometimes dissatisfied at the level of tenacity in Snuffy to have such rigid plays.
Is a silent cheerer. He doesn’t yell and he doesn’t stand up and pump his fists in the air. He’s quiet, waiting and watching. He’ll occasionally mumble praise or encouragement, but you won’t hear it unless you’re right next to him.
He goes to bed really early most days if he can. When he is alone, he sleeps like a dead man. No movement and no noise. Even when he has a nightmare, he’ll just jolt awake in the same position. When he started sleeping next to you, the pair of y’all would just begin to wake up entangled with each other. His arm wrapped around your waist, his feet holding your ankle. Your hand in his short, frosty hair and your chin on the top of his head. He moved quite a bit with you, always seeming to try to burrow into you in his sleep.
Has received numerous compliments on his eyes. He didn’t really understand why people were so entranced with them, especially when he paired it with his eyeliner until you. You loved them. You loved staring into them during bed time, gazing at them across the room. They were precious to you, so they gradually started to become precious to him as well. They aren’t his favorite feature on himself, but it brings you enough pleasure to look at them so he confidently thinks they are one of his top physical characteristics.
