Hide and seek
I know that this is not possible, but i just want them to be happy kids... And playing children games... Am i asking too much?
its because the hunter is evil
Recently, @iteratorsex and I discovered that Voidspawn behave somewhat differently for the Hunter compared to other slugs. I decided to do some digging to figure out exactly what the differences are, and thought I'd present them here. There are a few different ways you can encounter Voidspawn in Rain World:
First of all, there are a number of rooms in Shaded Citadel where free-swimming Voidspawn spawn naturally. Specifically, they swim towards SH_D02 (the room with Monster Kelp and a karma flower at the bottom of the region) and mill about there. These Voidspawn do not appear at all for the Hunter.
Next, In the caverns beneath the Depths, Voidspawn are seen swimming towards and down into the Void Sea. These Voidspawn behave identically on all slugs, with some slight adjustments due to the state of Subterranean in the Saint's campaign.
Finally, there are the Voidspawn Eggs, small, round objects that can appear at specific locations throughout Shaded Citadel, Subterranean, and Shoreline. These locations are fixed across all campaigns, but for the Hunter, each individual egg only has a 6% (~1/17) chance of actually appearing. This is compared to a 100% chance on all other slugs. When the player touches a Voidspawn Egg, its Voidspawn is released and slowly wanders offscreen.
Normally, the Voidspawn released from eggs make their way out of the room through a designated exit, one chosen by Rain World's developers when they placed that particular Voidspawn Egg. However, for the Hunter all Voidspawn released from eggs are aimless: each one swims offscreen in a different, completely random direction. In the screenshots above, I artificially added many Voidspawn Eggs to a shelter. As you can see, for the Survivor they all swim in generally the same direction, while for the Hunter they each have a different heading, and far fewer Voidspawn spawned overall.
I'm not sure, though it's all clearly very intentional. I can think of two general ways to explain the differences, at least. Either:
There is something special about the Hunter that makes it more difficult for them to see Voidspawn. It could be their disease, or related to whatever prevents them from encountering Karma Flowers.
Voidspawn are simply rarer outside of Subterranean prior to the Hunter's campaign. Perhaps the reactivation of Looks to the Moon drew more Voidspawn to the adjacent regions.
What do you all think? Which sort of explanation do you lean towards? Any ideas why the Hunter's Voidspawn should be so aimless compared to other campaigns?
When doing my alchemy theories, I questioned what 7 would represent in terms of Rain World, as there aren't really 7 of anything- aside from Red Suns. There's no hard proof or anything. And I even wondered why there wheresn't 7 urges
But I remembered, like in the image I posted yesterday, the urges are moreso like elements. The ability to destroy, reproduce, connect, and process, all coming together to be aspects of the 5th karma, Self Preservation
And like the elements, everything in the ripplespace abides by these rules. The strands, on an outside view, almost act like animals trying to keep themselves alive and going through a material body. I suppose its less that the strand is you, and moreso you are the strand(s)
oooh. sorry i misinterpreted that sentence that was my bad. i thought you meant it like "prince is incapable of getting mad at you, the same way as moon is incapable of getting mad at you". sorry for getting aggro so quickly ive just seen so so many people act as if moon is some sort of perfect lady that never gets mad at anyone and cant stand up for herself and never did anything bad and i have lost any patience i may have once had towards it
It's sad/funny to me how some people are so aggressive/mean to Prince. Either because: 1. You are being mean to This (floral baby fuck).
He was born three minutes ago. Give him a sec. 2. The man has never uttered a single mean word towards the player, unlike Pebbles or Spinning Top. He's even incapable of getting mad with the player even though he Should, like Moon. Whatchu saying fuck him for? 3. What he's doing is Literally the same thing that the Iterators were meant to figure out and commit as well (or just in that same vein. also mass """murder""" [ascension =/= death tho]). If one hates him for the Rot spreading across the ripples and making the lizards and shit yelp, then by logic all Iteratorkind should be despised as well for their potential And fabricated destiny/purpose to do the same.
And the Ancients, but they are already mostly despised in the fandom anyway. And the entire point of the dang game/the game itself, but I won't talk about that. Boring old conversation.
4. The presumed fact is that everything would eventually end up like rotted through even if he didn't appear. Because that is how the existence works over there. That's the Cycle on a large scale. It's probably slow and painful- constant deterioration. Here it still sucks, yes, but it's quicker and he had his eyes on an out for everything that the Cycle doesn't have (most likely). There was a planned end with him that he failed to reach (presumably, I'm 99% positive), not infinite torturous looping.
5. The Prince is the perfect means for showing what this world's spirituality is about. He's absolutely Amazing and mindfucky and I love how he addresses the large scale of the world as a story device, while Spin addresses the very intimate and personal of a sapient creature Within that world. Just for how great he is for exposition I can't be personally pissed with him. 6. ,,He's annoying to get to." I recommend doing a Spearmaster all pearls run without any passaging shenanigans. Just walk to a pearl and walk with it back to Moon. As so, the bar for annoying returning to an NPC should be raised and the Throne will be more mentally and emotionally acceptable 👌
bonus: patty cake
eek! an mouce!
good bye
The image you see is not from a war movie. It's a real X-ray of a Palestinian child. A sniper's bullet pierced her skull. This was not an accident. It was a calculated shot — to the head. How many children must bleed before the world opens its eyes?
I see this, and I tremble. Because I, too, am a mother. My own child is injured. He cries every night from pain. He needs urgent medical care — but we are trapped under siege, under fear, under silence.
How long before my son becomes another X-ray? Another hashtag? Another number?
If you're reading this, you have power — power to share, power to donate, power to care.
Help me get my son out. Help save him before it’s too late. Gaza’s children are not targets. They are lives. They are futures. Please don’t look away
