thank you ryan and shane for my life
some antipsychotics can make you more susceptible to heat exhaustion because they make it so your body cannot regulate your body temperature correctly. I learned this the hard way last summer, I got really nasty heat exhaustion while on a high dose of quetiapine. so check if your meds react badly to heat, and if they do, please be sure to wear your sunscreen, have light cover ups on or with you, wear a hat, and stay hydrated! be safe

this is obviously not the worst consequence of climate change, but i often find myself mourning for the death of seasons as we know them, particularly around this time of year
like, itβs going to be 80 degrees this weekend where i live. when i was a kid i donβt remember it being so warm so late in the year. recently, whenever the weather matches my idea of the what it should be, i feel grateful for having a moment of normality. but how many moreΒ βnormalβ seasons do we have left? how many more halloweens will it dip below 70 degrees? how often will we have snow for christmas? will there be any summers when colorado and california arenβt constantly on fire?
and of course we need to take action and our government needs to stop being complicitΒ in the harm that oil companies are doing, but even if we meet our goals and do everything right, the climate will remain changed for the near future. that doesnβt mean we should just give up, but the consequences are already here and just canβt go away.
there are obviously far worse consequences than not being able to wear a sweater in october. but the mundane loss of the little things that shaped our understanding of the world since we were kids can still hurt.
When the protestors fuck up and nearly kill three black women, along with burning three buildings owned by black people. Can't say it's blm when you're actively ruining the lives of POC who had to work harder and longer to even HAVE a place like that because those positions are much easier for white people to get. Like? Burn the police cars. Go after the police. Fucking hurt them if you want, it's not like they're going to hesitate to hurt you. However, stop ruining buisness. You're putting essential workers, most of which who live paycheck to paycheck, out of work in a time it is hard to get a job. You are hurting black people too, because believe it or not, although it is less common, one of the requirements to own a buisness isn't being white. So? Riot, cause chaos, make your voice heard, but please keep in mind when you attack and burn places that a black person could end up homeless because of you. If I'm wrong saying this as a white person, please let me know. I'll take it down.
