I don't know if anyone already asked you this or not but are you using water color and then colored pencils for the details later? Sorry if it's stupid I'm genuinely curious your art is so well done and I for the life of me cannot comprehend the inner workings of water color without losing my ever loving mind.

thank you! it's actually gouache! It has similar properties to watercolour but is made to be a lot more opaque, which in a way makes it a more forgiving medium since the thicker consistency allows for more control AND you can use its opacity to paint over mistakes

but you can also apply watercolour techniques to gouache if you really water it down and lay it down thin. You can look up vanessa gillings - she's incredible at using gouache to achieve those really delicate transparent watercolour-like layers

if you're used to acrylic markers and are looking to get into painting gouache miiiight be a good training wheels medium
