That misses the total point of the story. Everyone was doomed and there was no way anything could have worked out alright. If you're imagining a scenario that didn't end in tragedy, you're just an arrogant fool. Just shut up and be sad about it"

I cant stop thinking about the fact that Rhonda talked to Maddie about feeling lonely and then the next episode there's the scene with the marching band. She's so horribly angry and upset which she has every right to be. Her death was so horribly brutal, she's always felt like she cant reach out to the people around her and shes just screaming, then she yells at the band to 'wake up' and ??? Quinn puts down her trumpet for the first time in 20 years and ?? listens. And then a while later in the scene where they're talking by the skeleton in the science room we see Rhonda genuinely smile for what may be the first time ever in the series. There's no bitterness or mocking behind it. It just changes her face so completely and there's just this sense of relief that we feel through her. I'm actually unwell I don't know how to verbalize this.

just for the record I cried at the end of 'i saw the tv glow' but I also cried at the part where all Maddy's labels on the tapes are showing up on the screen and it's talking about Maddy taping the episodes for Owen. because that's such a specific type of love and it made me weep.

There was this horrible moment I had while reading SotR today where I realized Haymitch looked at Katniss and saw the dead little girl with dark braided hair he had to carry to Snow’s doorstep, his best friend he had to push away for his own good, and the Covey girl he couldn’t save all rolled into one more tribute he had to lead to her death wearing the meanest girl in town’s pin.
