Dropping a very special Sketch-a-wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August! The winning request was to illustrate an off-page scene from The Folk of the Air series, when Cardan was writing his letters to Jude. I countered that Cardan went through the five stages of grief writing those letters, and each deserved it's own illustration. (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance) You'll also notice some familiar outfits throughout! Have a great weekend. :)
Did a (which to colour) voting poll on my IG story feed, and here’s the result ✍🏻🎨
capcom really thought we'd forgive them for not allowing Apollo to shine IN HIS OWN TRILOGY by giving him 100000000 backstories
it's a shame apollo Justice trilogy happened this way, and I really really hope future games won't have a 'ignoring previous games to allow new players enjoy this game in itself, basically what happened to aa5 and aa6
I know that these days in the Ace Attorney fandom the cool thing to do is to stan and defend Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney and bash Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice (and don’t get wrong, those two DO have a lot of writing problems), but Imma be honest:
Disbarring Phoenix Wright was a seriously bad writing decision
“But…but…Phoenix isn’t ooc because look at the circumstances!” Yes, I agree, but you’re missing the point: the problem isn’t his characterization so much as the circumstances that created it. It cheapens the ending of Trials and Tribulations and tbh would have pissed me off if not for the fact I was playing it knowing his disbarment would be undone in the next game. I understand Shu Takumi was forced to put Phoenix in the game (it honestly would have been the best case scenario for us all and in the long run for the trilogy if he got his way and didn’t have to include him) but this wasn’t the way to go. I like the basic idea of his character of being a disillusioned lawyer who fell from grace, but not for an established character we spent a trilogy watch grow as I feel that’s an arc more suiting to an original character. I know criticizing Apollo Justice is taboo at this point but I needed to get this off my chest because all the “stop saying Phoenix was ooc in Apollo Justice that game is peak!” takes are dramatically missing the point.

Dear humanity,
Please Help Me My Son May Die at Any Moment..
I'm Amal, a mother of three children, living under the weight of the genocide taking place in Gaza. 🍉
My son is suffering from a severe and life-threatening injury after being shot by Israeli drones. He urgently needs medical treatment outside Gaza.
Time is running out, and we are facing a critical situation. I am asking for your generosity to help us save him either through a donation or by sharing this urgent plea with others
I beg you, i kiss your feet, to help my son. My son may die at any moment.
I lost most of my family. I'm afraid to lose my son too 🥺
Mohammed deserves to live a happy and healthy life, just like every other child on this earth.
I'm sorry I can't donate :( answering in case someone else can!
so I saw this general opinion that kitt asked pae to be his wife to punish Kai or something and it's huh???
while reading I didn't think kitt meant it in that way at all.
like we see how against the idea he was previously, but he still did it. he asked Kai in the throne room, and Kai said no. maybe kitt should have been able to see that he was lying, but who knows? I guess that made kitt finally submit to the idea
because at the end of the day.
1. they are brothers and they care about each other. if Kai doesn't see pae that way anymore, then he thinks the wedding isn't all that bad. plus, he may have thought that, the fact that Kai didn't let her go and actually bring her to him meant he was fine with whatever punishment he could have had for her
2. realistically speaking, it could have been his compassion. maybe he didn't want pae to die. he asked Kai to bring her to him when he was grief stricken, but he also changed his request to her being alive. maybe that speaks volumes about the fact that, maybe, just maybe, the control his father had over him was loosening. like obviously his father would have wanted kitt to execute pae, but he didn't do that
in conclusion, kitt isn't all that bad
or maybe it's my thing for blonds peeking out, leading me to look for crumbs (AARON WARNER WHEN I CATCH YOU-)
Well I have a folk of the air idea, what if Cardan made Jude his consort and Madoc his seneschal after he is crowned king, Jude still has power over him, but he makes her his consort and she agrees only so she can secure her brother’s place. Cardan tries to win Jude’s trust but she doesn’t trust him
this is really interesting! although if madoc is made seneschal, I wonder who the general (or whatever it is called) would be. also, the whole reason jude made cardan the king was so madoc wouldn't rule through oak. and, jude being cardan's seneschal allowed her some form of power over the people, but being his consort wouldn't really bring her much benefit? consort directly does mean being cardan's SO (or yk i just can't find the term I'm looking for), which jude would be really against
unless I'm interpreting it wrong, ofc. feel free to provide some clarification! it's a really fun idea but I'm not sure how I would write it practically with explanation
the urge to write a soukoku songfic (the song in question being Feel Better by Penelope Scott) from Dazai's POV
