never drawing this hoe again
I think I got the best of the bunch for the Ao3 down time, mine's at 12 am and ends at 10 am
So I'll pretty much be sleeping through it all
I beg your finest pardon.....?
happy independence day
wese exactly konsi aazadi ki baat kr rhe hain hum? 78 saal pehle jo hona tha hogya. what the hell are you celebrating today? our law system? chuhon ke bil nahi honge jitne loopholes hain hmare system mein. ya education system? jo students ki jaan lene ke alawa kuch nahi krta. or are we talking about the safety of women in a country which WORSHIPS DURGA.
at this point, i think we should stop blaming the government for everything. chote se chota change bhi sabse smallest functional unit se start hota hai. aur jahan logo ki soch hi trash ho, wo country developing hi rhegi development bc ho hi nahi payega yahan.
acche log toh hote hi hain, bure exception hote hain. yahan ulta hai. i wish india mein acche log exception na hote.
the surge of antis is probably why the fandom has went into this direction; most antis don't even understand what 'proship' *means* in the first place
proshippers: those who don't harass other people for their ships. if they find a place (say a fic, blog, art, etc) in which their OTP is not present, they simply *scroll past*, instead of going after the artist in question. it *does NOT* mean that you wish to see these contents in real life. being a proshipper implies that you either,
1. enjoy (FICTIONAL) sensitive topics (violence, incest, etc)
2. not particularly find the above topics good to watch/read, but apply the principle of 'don't like, don't read' (or view, watch, etc)
as a proshipper you can be on either end of the spectrum, or even the middle---some people are okay with one type of sensitive topic, while icky with another, and that's *okay*. but being a proshipper means that you let people have fun in their spaces and, as said before, don't harass them
antis are the complete opposite; they usually have a 'holier than thou' attitude, and oftentimes don't take kindly to topics they are sensitive about. in ace attorney, as you said, this shows in ships in which people can headcannon a sibling-esque relationship (narumayo, athena and simon, etc), or just be outwardly against incest relationships like kristoph and klavier.
it's *okay* not to ship, but to not allow those who enjoy this (fictionally) is just ridiculous. main reason I'm on tumblr instead of twitter; the latter is just infested with antis and don't let anyone have a fun time
thank you for reading my rant xD
It makes me sad when I look at Ace Attorney fandom stuff from 10-15 years ago and see how much more comparatively chill and accepting they were of different ships from the most popular ones back then. It wasnât perfect or free of discourse, obviously, but at least fans could mostly get away with shipping that stuff without getting called horrible people, unlike today where the Ace Attorney fandom is determined to bully anyone who dare ship the Unacceptable Stuffâ˘ď¸ out of the fandom (ESPECIALLY on aatwt my goodness). I know this isnât just me because Iâve seen even certain older fans note this and say stuff like âWow Iâve been in the Ace Attorney fandom for years and back then there used to be so many Narumayos and ppl who shipped so-and-so in het Iâm so glad these are no longer acceptable weâve come so farâ WRONG. The fandom has turned into a hivemind who think itâs acceptable to unperson others over ships and will sooner sympathize with one who harasses another over a Bad Ship than the one getting harassed because how dare they ship outside the sacred stuff. You really think itâs a good thing the AA fandom environment has gotten tyrannical about what youâre allowed to ship? Old Ace Attorney Shipping Fandom was FAR from perfect, but if your reasons for why it was bad or worse than now are âships I dislike were allowed to existâ hoooooo boy.
the urge to write a soukoku songfic (the song in question being Feel Better by Penelope Scott) from Dazai's POV
so I've wanted to draw klavier for a longgggg time but I stopped drawing like a year or so ago. finally decided to give it a go
I gotta sleep so I haven't finished the art completely, lemme know if yall think I should colour and shade aswell
(wanted a selfie-esque pose and perspective, and even with references oh god. I completely gave up on his jacket too so.. )
now don't get me wrong, I adore klema but seeing few fanfics (I repeat, few) turn the "friendly rivalry" between the two turn into klavier mostly harassing Ema to go on a date with her (WHICH SOUNDS VERY NOT IN CHARACTER) and Ema being "Ugh this fop, stupid, glimmerous, pretty boy! But alas I'm being dragged into a restaurant, guess I'll give this guy a shot." is... something
there is absolutely nothing wrong with exploring these kinds of dynamics though, but it sometimes feels like authors try to romanticize this kind of behaviour (fiction, so it isn't that bad, but when I realize this I'm immediately turned off :')). because to me this just sounds out of character
like oh my god the multi chapter fics in which Ema (slowly) gets closer to klavier, either through trauma bonding or just with their revelations in canon? I am a SUCKER for those, but in the case of one shots it can be difficult esp working with a lesser word count (in general, of course. either way longer one shots is just more foods gifted by the holy mother above (aka authors))
Some interesting Klavier and Ema things:
Ema says that Klavier is "always getting in her way"-- but she says this on his first case back in 7 years.
Ema and Klavier both studied in Europe and are the same age within 1 year.
Ema is on break in America present at the exact site of the very first Gavinners concert in AAI.
Therefore I assert to you: Ema knew Klavier in Europe and they worked/studied together which is when he was "always getting in her way." And also she came to America to see his concert.
