In my experience, nothing makes an otherwise sane person crazier than not be able to identify what is true and what is not. And I don't mean "crazy" as a passive irritation, I mean literal, extreme emotional and cognitive dysfunction that can manifest genuine madness.
When someone thinks they know the truth and is then denied this by the non-negotiable wall of reality, their response in a healthy society is to reevaluate their position, but in an emotionally incompetent society in which loyalties are rewarded in spite of the truth--and perhaps the truth is even punished--people rationalize in every manner, along every avenue, that they must be missing some key information which would validate their preconceived understanding. And you will find that the dissonance breeds madness, because we punish the truth.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. That trap is the death knell of a rational society, and the harbinger of civil collapse.
Babylon 5 is hands down one of the best pieces of Sci-fi television I have seen.
And I've only just finished the second season.
Clancy Brown with two extras on the set of Highlander (1985)
Awesome to see these guys together again
A man's ascension into the O from The Transformers The Movie opening.
Dean Ellis
i saw this image and it becomes doubly funny cause in outcasts its shown that he feels guilty and openly admits to his actions when asked
well I said I would do it
This is amazing!
Another part of my Archie redraw series! With cover #3, this wraps up the original miniseries !
Timelapse of this is available on my Bluesky.
Some thoughts on this piece and on this issue below ⤵️
So, my initial plan was to do a Green Hill Loop, but incorporate more greenery and flora to actually make it feel like Green Hill and not just a basic grid. You can see a bit of that rough sketch at the very beginning of my timelapse.
But ultimately, I decided to stick to the abstract route and instead pulled directly from Sonic Mania for inspiration! I feel like nothing best captures that classic sonic aesthetic than that retro deco.
I also kind of found it fitting to pull inspo from Mania's OP for this one since Tyson Hesse mentioned before that this very cover was what inspired him to become an animator in the first place when discussing his cover for IDW #50.
I tried to fit as many Sonics as I could but ultimately skipped out on one, so there's 7 instead of 8 lol. I wanted to ensure that the "speediest" Sonic have his face covered by the quills of the Sonic still tapping his foot, as something I disliked about the original is the speediest Sonic overlapping the standing one. By all accounts, he should be Behind him and the other Sonics follow that suit, but if that particular Sonic did, his face would be covered. As a result, I compromised lol.
As for my thoughts on this issue!!!! I don't really have much haha. Ultimately, it's not going to be an issue I'm going to remember. It was just a fun silly issue, but there's not much there to really comment on. It was nice to see some more of Uncle Chuck though!!
With all that said, we're finally getting to the Actual series now and I can't wait ! <3
I know it’s not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say
"If you're going to be worried everytime the universe doesn't make sense, you're going to be worried every moment of every day, for the rest of your natural life."
