Perhpas I'm Misunderstanding This Entire Thing, But Loris Pregnancy Seems To Be Treated So Cruely By

Perhpas I'm misunderstanding this entire thing, but Loris pregnancy seems to be treated so cruely by the show in season 2. She has valid reasons of being worried about it, and a valid (though understandably problematic) reason to not tell Rick.

Yet when Rick shouts at her for not telling him, for taking the pills, for taking that choice from him...he's treated as the 'correct' side? Going as far for him to say "you threw them up you want this"...no. no that does not mean she wants this. We as viewers have just seen her have multiple on screen struggles with making the morally correct choice. we see her still struggle to make that choice seconds before swallowing them.

And I get Maggies anger at her- her hiding the pregnancy and the 'carless' sex she had almost endangered not only her but Glenns life. I get Glenn talking to her and giving her advice (but also making sure that she knows he isn't telling her what to do) because he's been forced to keep so many secrets and also risked his life. He comes to her with a respectful, friend type convosation where he urges her to tell but also understand that at the end of the day it is her choice. Beyond the shock and the pain of not knowing, Ricks reaction just screams male rage without listening to her genuine fears. Idk I just...It's so odd. It's a valid thing to get emotional over but the show seemingly agrees with Rick's side and beyond asking the question of 'what if' doesn't agree with her's like it does Ricks.

I'm sorry, but pregnancy isn't an easy thing in our normal world let alone in an apocalypse setting. Rick doesn't get a choice, it's not HIS ass whose being endangerd with 9 months of pregnancy, a childbirth in unsafe and unclean conditions, and then raising that kid. HE can leave- and he (probally?) won't but he COULD. The show treats the dicussion of her pregnancy as though it's set in our normal universe were as she treats it as a pregnancy in an apocalypse. And she is punished by both RIck and Shane for that outlook.

So its currently like 12am for me rn when I'm typing this idk when I'll post it but I had a thought.  Arisu is the type of person to spam his friends a picture of spam 50 times over a minor joke about him not being their fave friend.  specifically this photo

image

In other news I just spammed my friend this photo 50 times because he sides with his boyfriend over me in a minor debate

at the beach there is definitely an inflatable kiddie pool that was originally filled with like idk vodka but now its used for its intended purpose and sometimes Hatter sends people there as punishments.   so now imagine Arisu sitting in a inflated kiddie pool hugging his knees to his chest awkwardly because Usagi forced him to wear duck covered arm floaties.

hatter reminds me greatly of the roman emperor Caligula ( ya know the guy who like declared war on Neptune and stabbed the ocean? and also tried to have his horse be made a consul)  so he's got the crazy part down. oh and being murdered by the militants ( like how Caligula was like assassinated by someone in the praetorian guard or something)  oh and the sex crazed thing

You know I do think it's interesting how strongly Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) makes the point that bringing someone back from the dead is inherently selfish.

I've seen it elsewhere but not nearly as unequivocally and plainly put. First, we have Majhal in episode 4 - an alchemist so obsessed with bringing back his dead love, he completely fails to notice that she survived and returned to him. And even once the truth is revealed... he rejects her, since she's not the ~perfect girl~ from his memories, but an old woman - an actual person, with an actual life.

And if you missed it there, we then meet Tucker, so obsessed with keeping his lifestyle and success as a State Alchemist he does, you know, that. And then he goes on to become obsessed with bringing her back - but not her, not really, as he straight-up tells Ed in the 5th laboratory - he wants the girl from his memories, the perfect, unchanging doll.

Both times, we see that those obsessed with bringing someone back from the dead aren't interested in bringing back a person, with thoughts and feelings and their own independent life to live - no, they want their idea of that person, the glowing angel who could never change, never grow, and never go wrong. And that also goes for Ed and Izumi too - Ed was so obsessed with bringing his mother back that he ignored Pinako, ignored the family that took him in, and selfishly put his brother's life at risk... for which he paid the price. Izumi lost her ability to have future children, any of them, stuck on a dream on the child she could have had. Both didn't want that mother/child - they wanted their loved ones, the ones they dreamed of, not the ones that were actually there.

Most times resurrection is brought up in media, it's with the lesson that "oh, the cost is too high", "oh, you're disturbing their rest", "oh, they don't come back right." It's rare to see it put so clearly, so obviously, so horrifically that actually, no, even the fact that you attempt it - even the fact that you want to - is an inherently selfish act, that turns your back on life and the living to chase a dream that may not have ever existed.

It's an interesting take on the whole idea, of death and life and memory and obsession. For all that 2003 dropped the ball on the ending, I do love the development they gave to the characters!

How much nail polish would you need tho? Cuss I feel like time could be fixed with just forcing enlisting people to help but like it would take so much money to buy enough or effort to steal enough polish to fit the cows hooves

I want hatter to have a cow. I want him to treat the cow like it’s his child. Like it’s a gift from the gods. I want him to find the best bell collar, decorate the ears with ribbons. Omfg imagine him like painting the hooves to match his own nail polish.

Oh and it most definitely sleeps in his bed and he sleep in a hammock hanging above him

no thoughts just Kuina making those shitty little bird feeders I was forced to make in scouts where you’d get a pine cone, cover it in like syrup then cover it in bird seed and tie it to string and hang it up. they were shit but if you make enough you can make a cool sorta chime that gets lots of birds ( and squirrels)

criminal minds see's their female characters and goes "how far can we push them" and doesn't wait for an answer.

yes this is focused on JJ and Emily because what the FUCK are their life stories. Genuinely for how bland JJ is as a character HOW DOES SHE HAVE ONE OF THE MOST INSANE CHARACTER PROGRESSON JOURNEYS OF THE CAST. She mothered to hard and had to be water boarded I guess.

And with Emily she's so...AHHH. SHE FAKES HER FUCKING DEATH. what normal person would do that. Once again she mothered to hard.

Episode 3 thoughts:

Having Jet and the mechanist in one episode was a risk that didn’t entirely work, but is something I am impressed with. I would NOT have written these episodes together, but I think it's a pretty interesting take. It really pits Katara and Sokka against each other in a very interesting way, whilst placing Aang in a middle ground.

I mean I HATE that they go “omg…you are the bad guy” like NO REALLY. But also like…assigning BAD and GOOD to people through just SAYING they are is soooo odd. Like no thanks. Let US work that out, have Katara be betrayed and hurt, not her just casually calling him a bad dude.

Oh also the no bending zuko vs aang fight? Pretty interesting it showed Dallas’s tallents with martial arts in a really fun way because I could actually see it beyond the fire bending! PLUS the use of props in the fighting was fun! Zuko breaking that stick off and using it, Aang defending with the plates and baskets, it was all really dynamic! Oh plus zuko being hit by a broom. Oh and then the fights in the carpet drapes!?that was filmed interestingly (though the music was…a choice).

Katara and Sokka riding the postal delivery carts up to the castle was a cute throw back to the original show, and also interestingly explored omashus own culture and how it can be used in ‘fights’. It was a neat addition rather than just walking there.

“You have my notebook” is such an odd line. I wish they went into more detail as to WHY this notebook is so important in the first few episodes because currently it means literally nothing. Like it seems to hold a log of his journey? Or his knowledge of the avatars? But like…a little more depth please! Cuss it IS interesting to know that Zuko put EFFORT into his research and it’s almost funny that he’s the one that teaches aang parts of what past avatars have done. Like its very comical! And Zuko losing it over it being missing is even more funny.

Iroh unironically going “for the fire nation” was….a choice. And not a good one in my opinion. Especially since it FEELS like they are planning on keeping the white lotus plot line (they did show Iroh buying a lotus tile) so for him to so casually do that it just feels odd. Like him protecting zuko? Normal. Him doing that??? eeehhhhhhh.

Arisu takes care of tadpoles and one day when him, karube, and chouta where drunk as fuck their thought it would be incredibly funny to try place some in Arisu’s collar bone.

So you have a drunk giggly Arisu frantically pushing his shoulder forward to try make his collarbone more defined and holding back his shirt, karube with a spoon full of tadpoles gentry pouring them in and chouta shakily holding his phone to record it as he laughs. Obviously the tadpoles just splat to the ground.

The boys forgot it happened cuss their like 4 bottles in at that point and continued to drink still or whatever idk anyway in the morning Arisu checks their instas and he just stares in horror at the video before crying becuse “ I killed my fucking babies!!”
