no offense but i need everyone to stop saying that “we survived” bad presidents before. like, i get it, the country has weathered people like andrew jackson and ronald reagan and will probably weather trump. but when you say “we survived” andrew jackson? tell that to the 4000 (of 16000) cherokee who died on the trail of tears. “we survived” ronald reagan? tell that to the 650,000 americans who have died of aids– a national health crisis which reagan refused to even recognize? 

you know who “survived” presidents like trump? people who never had to be afraid of them in the first place. 

when you’re watching a movie and u recognize one of the actors in it from somewhere but u haven’t watched any of the movies or shows listed on their imdb

I wanted to post this from my other blog and I think it’s important that other people learn what SPD really is so they can notice it and catch it early. It’s not easy to have this and my everyday life can be hard some days but other days it’s much easier. Please educate yourself and others about SPD so you can help them if they need it. 

person develops Schizophrenia

person loses job

person loses healthcare that said job provided

person can’t pay rent and bills

person loses home

person can’t get a new job because they aren’t stable enough and don’t have a physical address 

person is now homeless

person should be receiving treatment but can’t afford it without insurance

person is getting worse with the added stress of unemployment and homelessness 

person has a psychotic episode

person should be hospitalized but hospital won’t take them without insurance

personal has several public displays of instability

person turns to drugs to self-medicate

drugs only make the psychosis worse 

person gets in trouble

person gets arrested

person goes to jail

here’s to black people, and to brown people, and to Hispanics, and to Latinx people, and to people of Asian descent, and to Native Americans, and to mixed people, and to everyone else who isn’t white. here’s to the immigrants who don’t know if they’ll be able to stay in the same country as their family.

here’s to the young people who’ll be in debt for decades because of college tuition. here’s to the young people who can’t even afford to go to college in the first place. 

here’s to people who can’t afford to go to college. here’s to people who can’t get a well paying job because of their gender, race, sexual identity, or otherwise. here’s to people who will never know what it’s like to be financially comfortable. here’s to people that can’t afford a quick trip to the hospital and never will because of no medical insurance.

here’s to mentally disabled people, and physically disabled, and people who are both. here’s to mentally ill people who aren’t getting the help they need because they can’t pay for it or don’t know how to ask for it or are told they’re overreacting.

here’s to everyone who voted for a real change in order to be let down by the stupid and bigoted people in this racist, misogynistic, classist, abilist, anti-Semitic, Islamaphobic, homophobic, transphobic, and every other kind of ugly country. you don’t deserve this, and you never did.

and lastly: “all men are created equal.” here’s to that being the biggest piece of bullshit anyone has ever written.
