Thinking about s2 ep3 where Jeff has his whole freak out over cholesterol and Duncan is the one to come up after class to him and check up on him.
"Mind if I ask what happened in class today?"
It's so simple but Duncan clearly noticed something was wrong and it shows how their friendship is genuine. I seriously wish we saw more of it because while horny loser Duncan is hilarious, he also deeply cares about his friends and can give genuinely good advice.
"While claiming to have no religion, you were actually devoutly worshipping yourself. And now that your God has high cholesterol, you're trying to kick Pierce's in the balls."
And it's so rare to see people worry about Jeff because he always convinces people that he's got it, so people brush it off. But Duncan has been a stable support for Jeff since the pilot when he cared enough to teach Jeff a lesson.
He sees through Jeff's bullshit but he also deeply respects him.

(returns from the dead with another poll)
Dennis Takes a Mental Health Day had the most mixed reaction of any season 16 episode (except maybe FVR--let me know if a poll about that would be something you'd be interested in!) so I got curious; do people like and dislike the episode for the same reasons? Does what you ship and how much you like Dennis affect your opinion, or are there other factors? I wanna know!
The poll isn't too long--unless you decide to write a dissertation about the episode, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to fill out. But I mean, if you want to write a dissertation on how bad/good it is I'm all ears
i am not capable of being normal about this

Thank you to all the editors that made this happen, this is incredibly satisfying to me (now when are we adding Roman Roy to the list)
Before anyone asks, the list in question consists of silly queer-coded alcoholics with BPD who have a weird relationship with money, a weird relationship with sex, and a really weird relationship with their dad.
you know what will live rent free in my head until the end of time,,,
the deleted scene from cereal defense where dennis goes to strangle dee and she de-escalates by grabbing and massaging his hands. and it works. he immediately calms down and listens to her.
Jabed
YES. YES YES YES YES. YES. A MILLION TIMES YES.
Thinking about Frank vs Russia again. And about the confirmation that the SINNED system was created at the same time as the DENNIS one. We know Dennis perfected his system for women but we haven't seen him ever date a man or keep a man. We have no confirmation of what he's done, and based on Dennis' eagerness in knowing if Dee and Mac got 2nd dates, I like to think he's never even tested it before. It was all based on observations. He kept it secret all these years and finally saw potential now to test it out through them. When's the second date? He's eager to know. Does it work.
And it does. Ofc it does. It was foolproof. He knew that.
Dennis isn't against a romance with Mac. The system exists since s6, Dennis clearly WANTS to keep a man. He just doesn't understand how that's already happened. Mac likes him? Wdym, he hasn't done the steps yet. Dennis just confirmed that the system works.
We know Dennis' outburst basically meant "You can't be in love with Johnny because he doesn't love you Mac, I don't love you. Move on."
But it also meant "You can't be in love with Johnny because Johnny is me! And you're not in love with me!"
Dennis is rejecting love on all grounds, in both directions. This isn't part of the plan, part of the scheme. This isn't his goal, not now. He's not ready and Mac isn't either.
The goal was simply to get Mac's attention back. To bring them back on equal footing. To be friends again. Dennis is fixing the friendship first, and Mac is being impatient and an idiot and jumping at romance and ruining the careful pacing Dennis is creating.
Can I... uhm may I...
Silly comic relief relationships who I get to dissect and turn into serious analysis…
Clingy little guy who thinks the other little guy makes the world go round and is totally oblivious to the fact that their relationship is actually mutual when they're clearly fkn codependent…
Homicidal violent freak being the misunderstood kindest of the relationship, trying to be the glue of the friend group, wanting to provide everyone a sense of community so neither have to feel alone again…
I can never quite get over how much Nine tried to protect Rose. I don’t just mean keeping her out of physical danger, but also mentally and emotionally he tried to make her feel as safe and secure as possible by not letting on just how scary things truly were at times.
It hits me so hard every single time I see Nine’s demeanour change from “the delta wave is either not going to work or it’s going to wipe out the entirety of Earth along with it” to “Rose Tyler you’re a genius!” because in that moment he was clearly thinking about exactly how to break the news to Rose and he decided to lie and try to be as upbeat and enthusiastic as possible so she didn’t freak out and put herself in danger to help him. He put on a whole act, pretending that he had a plan and that all he needed was Rose to step into the TARDIS and wait for him, and he’s bouncing around and smiling the entire time.
And then he leaves the TARDIS, and the act drops immediately and it is one of THE most hard-hitting scenes in Doctor Who history, the way he just turns around and sends her home.
But also it’s when he regenerates and even though regenerating hurts because to him he still feels like he’s dying, he makes sure to crack jokes the entire time just so Rose feels comfortable and assured, and isn’t too scared by what’s happening in front of her.
Or it’s in Father’s Day when he knows the only way to save the planet is for Pete Tyler to die, but he tries desperately to find a different solution so Rose doesn’t have to go through seeing her dad die again, despite the fact that Nine and Rose had fallen out anyway because Rose had caused the entire mess in the first place.
Just... Nine protecting Rose from any emotional distress along with actual physical danger is exactly why their relationship is so so beautiful. Tenrose will always be my favourite pairing but I think ninerose is just as superior in its own way and I love it to death. Nine was so caring and compassionate towards her, even if he didn’t outwardly show it as much as Ten did. I would even go so far as to say that Nine was the most caring out of all the other Doctors. He was at his peak in emotional vulnerability, desperate not to be alone unlike post-Rose Ten, but hadn’t quite been worn down enough to switch off his feelings like Eleven. He just cared so much and GOD I miss Christopher Eccleston.
