satoru finally managing to escape the seemingly endless amount of solo missions he has. he finds a good time to spend time with suguru and shoko, making the most out of their time together. suguru is having as much fun as his deteriorated mind can let him. as they walk out of an ice cream shop, they see paramedics taking away a stretcher with a blanket draped over it. suguru pauses in his tracks, and the world becomes drowned by the noise in his head. he stares distantly, almost longingly, having a terrible thought. ‘what if that was me instead?’ suguru feels a tap on his shoulder, and he was quick to shake away the thought. he felt guilt beginning to swell in his heart as he turns to look up at satoru. “is everything okay, suguru?” suguru doesn’t reply. he raises a hand to his ear to act as if he couldn’t hear anything in the crowded street. he then continues on to catch up with shoko, and satoru stands in place with disbelief.
