That’s not very much then
Very torn between “Queen Elizabeth is a colonizer” and “but I do want her to outlive her stupid son”
I have lost all control in my life, my only goal now is to be a hot pink bitch named breakfast.
Back in high school, I made a quick and dirty DnD-based ttrpg about magical girls that I prepped as a one-shot for my school's DnD club. I showed up on a day when only boys were there and said "Idk what to tell you, I'm running a magical girl game today, and I'm the only DM here," and all five of them played. They were so into it. I had them chanting to activate their powers. Do you know how powerful that makes me feel

Trying to reclaim hyperfeminity as a woman is like if Black people trying to reclaim racist minstrel imagery…
you..you read this out before you sent this to me right? I’m sorry for not responding to you previously if that’s what’s got you so worked up but I looked into the book you recommended I read and I’d rather not read a book that has incorrect statistics and’s whole message when you take off the fancy ribbons is just “makeup bad, makeup please men” (and some of the deaths threats I’ve been receiving certainly haven’t helped me respond either)
Hyperfeminity and racist minstrel imagery are very VERY different things, and you trying to compare them just tells me you do not understand hyperfeminity nor do you understand the decades of pain and racism surrounding minstrel imagery.
When I made my original post I was calling out TERFs, not radical feminists (which is why it’s not used). TERFs are toxic, exclusionist, racist, transphobic/homophobic, anti-feminty, and/or just all around assholes where as Rad fems are actual feminists who believe that gender is a social construct and I have no problem with.
When I was reading your response to me you made some valid arguments and it was well written, however, you also compared women to slabs of seasoned meat and as the seasoned meat you’re talking about I’m just here to say. I chose my seasonings because I like them, I chose to wear makeup and I chose to wear short skirts because I like them.
and before you say anything about how I’m “pandering to men” shut the fuck up, it is not my job to tone myself down so men don’t get a hard on in public and try to touch me, it’s their job to control themselves and let me live peacefully. And I would be able to leave peacefully if it wasn’t for TERFs like you who let men get away with abusing hyperfeminity but it’s cause you do let them get away with it that I got my first ‘me too’ moment at 11 when I chose to wear a skirt to school for the first time.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, femininity is not something to turn away as it’s a central part in many women’s lives, nor should we turn away actual feminists just because they want to wear a mini skirt and high heels. The longer we keep this ideology the more dangerous it will become for ALL women, the longer we enforce the idea that any woman who expresses femininity is in some way made for men the harder it will be when we go to fight against S@ and the more normalized it will become.
Oh, and I don’t hate masculine women or gender neutral/gender non conforming women as you claim, they’re all wonderful and many of them are my close friends. My post simply wasn’t about them, easy as that.
I’m not your enemy, but you are very clearly mine if this is truly what you believe.
Though the jokes that "since gay pride month is over, july is now gay wrath month" are funny and all, it's important to remember that July is ACTUALLY Disability Pride Month and ya'll should really be focused on boosting disabled voices and issues this month! For instance, the fact that marriage equality doesn't actually truly exist in the United States for disabled people, or the fact that disabled people are forced to live in poverty or lose their disability benefits, or the fact that 1 in 5 people with chronic pain end up sufferring from alcoholism or other addictions, or how accessibility is still a daily battle for all of us, or how there are active hate groups on places like reddit who try to "call out" those they see as "faking" their disabilities.
This July, boost disabled voices. Talk about the issues that our community faces. Call out ableism.
