AAAAA here’s the question, okay. first of all forgive my english lol, second:  I have a lot of fics that I like, I really found a huge heaven of stuff searching for Rusame on Ao3, but Im going to make a list of some of the Long fics (which are my faves type of fics) that I enjoyed reading! :  Drawing Dead by Drewyth (AU, contains Nsfw)  This was an immediate first love, I love the characterization, the plot, the flow, certain scenes made me gasp loudly and the dialogue is so great , it’s still on going but the whole story until now it’s an amazing rollercoaster <3 (in all the good sense possible) Blue lips by IridulcentDays (BiverbalBuncombe) (Canonverse) This is discontinued I think? because it hasn’t been updated in years, still,I adore it, I love hurtcomfort and the rusame relationship in it it’s chefkiss.  The promise of sunflowers by PurplePatchwork (canonverse, contains Nsfw)  This one is adorable, like literally adorable, the whole growth of the relationship is so cute it makes me squeal and I adore the way Russia is portrayed here. Hades Pleads by ThatBritishBoy (AU) This one is an amazing Greek Mythology AU! I adore the way it’s written and where the plot is taking us readers, the scenes are majestically described it’s quite easy to imagine them in your head, it’s still on going and I’m honestly hyped for the new chapters!   Ivan Braginsky's Guide To Taking Care Of An Alien by Zero_Gravity (Au, Nsfw-ish)  In this one the relationship is quite peculiar and I love it, Ivan takes care of Alfred and Alfred is the most adorable thing ever, I also adore how the plot is bittersweet and there’s a lot of honey and domestic stuff (I’m so weak for that kind of things)  A change by Galactic_Ink (Au, nsfw)  I’ve read various fics from this author, all very valid and quite nice! This gotta be my favourite though, I’m a su**er for Apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic/dystopian Au or canonverses and this didn’t disappoint at all, the whole worldbuilding and action plot was an experience !  Fake It Until You Make It by Jupiterra (AU) I really enjoyed this one, it was very well written and hilarious at times, I also loved how the relationship evolved and the cute fluff in it!  Close the door by PurplePatchwork (NYORusame, AU, Nsfw-ish)  This is a nyotalia fic that I adore in every way, it’s discontinued but those seven chapters are a bliss. Both Amelia and Anya are written amazingly and the plot was becoming very cute and interesting!  Okay so , I have a ton of amazing Rusame fics I like so It would take an entire day to make a list for all of them! I have to say in every fandom Im in, I prefer canonverse( with canon divergences) fics, but with all the amazing AU I found with rusame, well I have to say that Ive been wrong all this time <3  The Rusame fandom really got amazing fanfictions writers and I can’t thank them enough for the things they create!

something mustve gotten lost in translation because when did the fandom collectively decide that Matthew was the nice, normal twin?? like hes perfect and Alfred is the embodiment of all bad things?? like we see Alfred depicted as lazy and Matthew hardworking when in the manga, Alfred is the one bustling around while Matthew stays at home. Its known in the manga that Matthew is very laidback. Not to say he's lazy, but hes definitely not diligent in the way that Alfred is, who's been shown multiple times to have piles of workload and also occasionally leads the meetings. Matthew just likes to stay home and eat just like his brother does, and his interests are just as eccentric (both he and alfred like fried sushi and anime, and mattie literally smokes weed while al isnt allowed to drink), the difference is that Al is a superpower and therefore has more responsibilities and work than his brother, who is hardly noticed and living the good life in the shadows. The "invisible Canada" thing hasn't been done in the manga recently and people (in the hetalia verse) seem to know who he is now, and Mattie always looks really happy when he shows up. Where did irritable, hardworking Matthew who constantly scolds his lazy good-for-nothing brother come from?? Where did "Matthew has his life together better than Alfred" come from when its established that Mattie struggles with insecurities about how his brother is more successful than him? like omg

This is why I only like Matthew when he's done in a very specific way. It's so easy for people to fall into two categories: Helpless, Perfect Matthew who's never done anything wrong (even tho canadian history is an absolute menace) and Irritable, Grumpy Matthew who hates his brother. I'm more partial to the second personality because fragile mary sues (or gary stus) annoy the shit out of me, but why make him hate Al,, like if ur gonna make him hate Al at least for a good reason. Not just because he's "lazy" and "eccentric" because Mattie is both of those things too. It makes me hate the character unless he's written in a very specific way
