Okay but bruce is 100% the type of dad who treats his kids like an adult because he doesn't know how to handle kids so he treats them the way he treats adults except, y'know, after dick he learns a little and is also soft and gentle with them and learns how to treat kids, but for the most part bruce is a gentle parent, listening to all of their problems, believing the things they say without a seconds hesitation (until of course he learns them well enough to tell a lie from a truth) but just like- imagine how much of a mind fuck that must have been for his kids

Dick- newly orphaned, and instead of being treated the way most adults are treating him, here is bruce, who understands, and treats him normally. He treats him with sorrow of course, but he also acts like dick is an adult, like he knows that dick can handle things after his parents death

Jason- who was beaten by his father for ‘telling lies’ is now believed automatically by bruce, no matter how outlandish it is(because they live in Gotham so everything is outlandish)

Tim- who was ignored by his parents and told to shut up when he spoke is now waited on, listened to, comforted

Cass- who had her vocal cords ripped out and broken- bruce learns sign language for her, touches her gently, offers quiet words of support and always allows her to read his body language

Damian- silenced by older assassins who know better, every member of the family stops and listens when he speaks, lets him finish what he needs to say, trusts his words without doubt- no punishments dealt out for being wrong

The different ways the Batkids like cuddling (exclusively with Bruce)

Dick- ever since he was young dick liked to curl into Bruce’s side, arms slothing around his waist. Now that he’s older dick still cuddles into Bruce’s side even though he is much bigger. Bruce loves it. 

Babs- she didn’t cuddle with him much, but if they’re watching a movie or something and she’s next to him she’ll lean against him and he wraps an arm around her shoulders. Bruce loves it. 

Jason- Jason loved curling on Bruce’s lap like a little cat. He still does it today and he’s like a Great Dane that’s a lap dog. Bruce can’t breathe sometimes but he loves it. 

Cass- cass likes to drape herself around his shoulders like an affectionate cat. Bruce loves it. 

Tim- Tim holds his arm and cuddles into his side. When Bruce stands he just dangles from the arm. Bruce loves it. 

Steph- Steph is a leg cuddler, curling up between his legs, sitting in front of him and draping his legs over her shoulders etc. Bruce loves it. 

Damian- Damian is just so small Bruce holds him on his chest. He’s cradled in the arms and pressed against Bruce’s chest. Damian tries to argue but honestly it makes him feel safe and he loves being so close to his dad. When Damian is older Bruce still insists on cuddling him like that and Damian can’t deny him even though he is literally Bruce’s size. Bruce loves it. 

Duke- Duke and Bruce aren’t really cuddling level but Duke likes to sleep on his shoulder and Bruce loves any contact
