I encourage you to vote for my little meow meow Henry :)
He’s crazy in such a fun way
Henry:
Osamu Dazai: He actively tries to kill himself multiple times throughout the series. Apparently also flirts with almost every guy who appears on screen with him. He acts silly, but is actually quite intelligent and planning. (He wasn't submitted with much detail)
In my next life I will be reborn as #plural stuff.
@ship-bracket FYI: I have more about my OCs here! (I did not post more because of pressure so much as this helped me overcome the feeling of “but it’s cringe”)
cw: soulless character, identity confusion
They’re narrative foils, they’re alternate selves, and they’re intergenerational BFFs. A lost her soul long ago in an attempt to stop being overly emotional, and is now cold and heartless, having convinced herself that she’s better off without her irrational emotions. A is logical, efficient, and solitary, having lost her need for connection and the joy she used to find in life. Then she meets an adolescent version of herself, B, whose soul and emotions are intact, and has to reconsider everything. In some ways the two are polar opposites, yet in others they’re exactly alike. B is lively, caring, fun-loving, and always overreacting. Both of them are brilliant yet reckless, searching for new knowledge without regard for safety or sanity.
B tries to steer A towards morally better choices, knowing that she’s the only one A will listen to, and she grows to admire A despite her flaws, eventually coming to love her like family. A has become selfish and uncaring towards others, but to her, B is not “others,” but the soulful, complete version of herself. A considers herself no longer capable of love, but B becomes everything to her, valued above even her own life. They form a sort of symbiotic relationship, with A acting as a mentor, guardian, and voice of reason to B, and B acting as A’s heart and soul and conscience. In many ways, they catalyze each other’s character development… but they also enable each other’s craziness.
cw: murder mention
She's a woman who exists beyond normal boundaries of time & space, who's somehow both a ghost and the reincarnation of her own great-uncle. He's the detective investigating her murder, and was somehow destined to help her long before he ever knew she existed. They've never met while alive, but they both can't stop haunting each other all the same.
The detective and the ghost keep circling each other throughout time loops and dreams, where both of them seem eternally trapped in the same series of rooms. The woman might be trying to guide the detective to the right path, or she might be a vengeful corrupted soul keeping him stuck forever. The detective might be stumbling closer to a way for both of them to escape, with the ghost ascending past her current status -- or he might somehow be her murderer, thanks to the time loop they've both entered. Neither of them seem to have the answers yet, but there is the lingering possibility that the only way for them to move past their current state is to become a part of the very environment they can't leave.

Second art post thanks to @nervoussaladbard ‘s Oakie appreciation!
Those people who constantly reblog your stuff but you never really talk:
The fact that Mark Cuban can do this is just further proof of how much capatalism is f*cking people over.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban launched an online pharmacy Thursday that offers more than 100 generic drugs at an affordable price with a goal of being “radically transparent” in its price negotiations with drug companies.
For example, the leukemia drug imatinib is priced at $47 a month on MCCPDC compared to the $9,657 retail price.
The online pharmacy’s prices for generics factor in a 15% margin on top of actual manufacturer prices and a $3 pharmacist fee, the statement said.
I feel like lots of people are forgetting about how queer readings of media has always been gay culture. It's broadened out to headcannons and AUs and such. I feel that usually when someone expresses their personal queer reading of a character who was never written to be queer there is always backlash and lots of hate to that person.
The Office could be read as a lesbian love story between a dyke and the best friend she's in love with who's already engaged to a man. Many sapphics find Jim Halpert's situation relatable and has drawn Jim as a lesbian. There are paragraphs and fanfictions that explain the queerness they see in Jim Halpert. Yes the reality is that Jim Halpert is just a cishet white boy who's an ok person. People who hate on these queer readings are usually ignorant.
The thing is I don't think that queer readings and headcannons only come from a desire for representation. I think it's a from of self expression.
Usually when people talk about queer rep and queerbait its in the context of television, cartoons, and books. It's the marketable representation. Authentic queerness in art comes from the sheer desire to express and dream and imagination. Imagination is a wonderful thing!!
Let queer people have their headcannons. Let people draw characters as a ethnicity and race that's different from canon. Let disabled artists people draw and write their favorite characters as disabled.
How dare people insert themselves in media and feel joy. You're a bully if you think that's cringe and you need to grow the fuck up
Arya is so cool vote for her she reminds me of my own OC (though more fantasy and more traumatized XD)
Her design is great, her backstory is great, and I want to give her a hug (if she would like one).
Angharad Brosca (@rlainarin) vs. Arya Velorë (@panek-at-the-disco)
He/Him
tldr: he's gay ginger dwarf Jesus
5'0 twunk with long curly auburn hair, a short beard, and big dark brown doe eyes
she/her
Arya should win because she is a very kind and caring alchemist who is starting to learn magic from one of her friends. She was originally a human from a city that was stuck in a time-loop repeating the same day for nearly three years before escaping to try and find someone to help. When she returned to help free her home, her soul was split and half of her was sent back in time to become one of the reoccurring minor antagonists while the other half remained in the present and placed herself into her new clockwork body so she is strong enough that she won't be hurt like that again. Everyone who loves cute blorbos with ~trauma~ who will do anything for her friends (including betraying them) will love her <3
She has a clockwork body made out of brass and ivory with the cylinder of a music box in the center of her body. She has long red hair and purple and green eyes. Her clothes are technically part of her body, but she wears a long cloak with fluff lining the end of it and several pockets sewn into the inside of it. In combat she carries a clockwork staff made of a music box cylinder, a small pair of wings, and an amethyst to power it.

CW: antisemitism, pale of settlement, pogroms, genocide, cultural erasure
I don't think goyim can really conceive of how much Jews actually hold back in our criticism of antisemitism in media, and when you hear us it is often because we see a dangerous message that you don't... Yet.
I have a complicated relationship with Tim Burton's rendition of The Corpse Bride. I love it as a beautiful piece of stop motion art, but it isn't what it should have been, he took a Jewish story from the Pale and with intention stripped it of its Jewish origins. This alone is incredibly antisemitic. The criticism you will hear has probably been "this is a Jewish story, it should have retained its Jewish elements" but have you heard why we feel strongly about this story?
The story of the corpse bride is incredibly important to me and was born from Jewish trauma and Christian violence. Mobs would routinely attack Jewish weddings, they would murder brides and they would bury them in unmarked graves by the roadside still in their wedding clothes, they reasoned that without Jewish wives there are no Jewish mother's. Jews are intrinsic to the story.
It is antisemitism to take our story, about our pain, at the hands of non-jews and strip it for "useful" parts, in fact it is heartbreaking every time.
We are often forced to pick our battles and fighting a battle over a movie that has already been released by a director with a cult following is not worth it, you only hear us speak up in numbers when the antisemitism may lead to another century of violence, because raising our voice means picking a fight, because so many of you already see our pain as inconvenient and it is exhausting to never be heard.

@lizardonatoadstool Thank you for your continued support for Oakie the Acorn! Enjoy this bird I was drawing in class :)
Hi, we're the River System! Katlyn (she/they) and Jacob (he/him). Came for the fandoms, stayed for the off-the-wall and the cringe. 22, autistic (language abled and low support needs), Environmental Biology major. Actual Mad Scientists ;) [We do science and don't do sanity!] Mostly this is Katlyn obsessing over bugs and fandoms (Undertale, Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Fire Emblem: Awakening, RWBY, Arcane). Also may include photography, dark aesthetics, and general chaos from Jacob. (Cover photo by Sagar Patil on Unsplash)
