perplexes me a bit when people say jmart is a boring healthy ship. they like each other and they're trying their best but this is the "I'm not going to kill a man just because you're jealous" "why not?" / "yes or no, can that fire hurt us?" "define 'hurt'" / "thank you for not hitting me this time" / [grins while using the other as bait without his prior knowledge] / "I knew you couldn't help yourself, you never could" relationship. they're affectionate and they care but fundamentally this dynamic is a game of "for your own good" betrayal chicken. they love each other enough that they could never bear even thinking about separating and this is both tremendously romantic and really, really bad.

thinking about the messy side of Jonah. The “I beat an old man to death and called it an overreaction” side. The “I have to pry out my eyeballs (by myself) and push them into another guys head so I can live forever” side. He’s fucking insane.
