I'm just gonna say it, if you liked the hunger games series and are looking for another book similar, try: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.
The main series has six book with three more after (which I'm yet to read).
It follows a young girl by the name of Juliette who lives in a world that's dying because of global warming. A simple touch from her skin can result in death. Now the new government, known as the Reestablishment, plans to use her as a weapon to keep rebels in place.
Throughout the series there's themes of dystopia, mental and physical isolation, rebellion, friendship, romance and war.
The age rating for this series is 12+
I read this series in less than a week, it's addictive.
A poem about being the scapegoat of a narcissistic mother
You say "I'll do better"
We say "I believe you"
You say "I'm trying my best"
We say "I believe you."
You say "I'm doing better this time."
We say "I believe you."
You say "I'm going through alot right now."
They say "we believe you."
I say "I know, me too."
You say "were a team"
We say "I believe you"
You say "it's not my fault."
They say "I believe you."
I say "it's not ours either."
You say "yous aren't making it any easier."
They say "I'm sorry"
I say "it's not any easier on us."
You say "You don't know what it's like."
They say "I'm sorry."
I say "but I do."
You say "Leave it, it makes me feel better."
They say "I'm sorry."
I say "I don't want to pick up the pieces again."
You say "I don't see you dad's helping us."
They say "We hate them."
I say "You taught us to lie to him, he doesn't know how bad its gotten."
You say "Everyone's against us."
They say "we hate them."
I say "for good reason.
Then we argue. We argue. And we argue again.
You say "If you hate it here so much, go live with your dads."
They say "no, we hate them."
I say "fine." I pack my bags.
We argue a last time...
You say "your being dramatic. Just come home."
I say "I'm done."
Now, we haven't spoken in a year.
You say "Your sister hates me."
They say "we hate her."
What I say doesn't matter, cause you don't let them hear me.
I need to prove a point to my stepdad. This is absolute bullshit.

James was wandering the castle after curfew. He was restless, couldn't sleep. He was filling his brain everytime he closed his eyes. His beautiful face, his silky hair that James desperately wanted to run a hand through, his soft, red cupids bow lips that he really badly wanted to...
He wandered around the corridors, knowing it wasn't a good idea. He had stupidly left both the map and the cloak in the dorm so he could easily get caught. He hoped no teachers or prefects would be out this late.
The moon shone through the windows, covering the cold stone corridors in small patches of light. His footsteps echoed softly.
James looked up and saw the shadow of a cat, knowing he was done for if it was Mrs Norris cause filch was never too far from her. He tried to duck into the shadows, watching as the cat turned the corner.
To his surprise, it wasn't Mrs Morris at all, not was it a cat he recognised. James took to knowing all the cats in the castle. Many students had them as pets and James loved cats so he'd often be found playing with one.
The kitten padded slowly along the corridor, towards James. He was incredibly small with black, soft looking fur and no collar. All the pet cats at hogwarts had collars, they had to have them, it was the rules.
James stepped into the middle of the corridor. He crouched down a few feet away from the kitten and put out his hand.
The cat stopped the moment it say James, glancing between him and the way he came. Hesitantly, he urged forward and sniffed James' had. Then, he purred and rubbed his head on it.
James, with a grin on his fave, then moved to sit on the floor with his legs crossed and the cat immediately crawled into his lap and cuddled upto him.
He frowned when he realised he was shaking. Shivering. It was freezing in the corridors and this cat had no owner by the looks of it. Not one that cared about him anyway.
"Your cold." James muttered softly, the cat looking up at him with his big, silver eyes that seemed to glow in the moonlight. "Come, we can go to the common room, it's warm there." James picked the kitten up, holding him against his chest, stood up and began making his way through the corridor, back the way he came.
"Do you have a name?" He asked, knowing no one would answer. "We have to give you one." He thought for a moment. "Freckles?" He laughed softly when the cat let out an angry sounding meow at that. "Hmmm...Elio?"
The cat seems to like that name, so they go with that. Elio, James' little kitten.
James mutters the password before climbing through the portrait hole into the common room, letting Elio down and sits on the couch. He looks around, climbing onto the window sill and looking at the view outside before going back to lie on James' lap.
Regulus has never been happier.
