Same with anime. Like Asian Censorship was way stricter than the US even and there are people today that hate of Yuri on Ice for queerbaiting. Like NO, I was ecstatic when that came out because of how forward it was for anime. We wouldn't shut up in school about it for months.

I wish more people understood how fucking hard Legend of Korra was actually censored. It's not "LGBT bait" it was CENSORED and the writers had to fight hard just for Korra and Asami to HOLD FUCKING HANDS

Libraries were my safe haven as a child, and the old librarian would keep the library open way past closing to make sure I had somewhere safe to be until I could go home.
