If its not too much of a bother could you show us how you draw or study faces?

If Its Not Too Much Of A Bother Could You Show Us How You Draw Or Study Faces?

This is such a dense subject and you could fill a book on each tiny feature of the face but if you're talking about like, facial composition and thought process then yeah sure!

Do you have tips/suggested websites and apps for Japanese learning? Duolingo is a nightmare to work with for me.

Alphabet first is definitely the biggest advice

Lingodeer over Duolingo imo, it has better pacing and deeper documentation per step

Paul Noble's audiobooks was great for grammar and sentence forming (as well as getting to hear Japanese)

When you feel up to learning some Kanji, WaniKani is a site I've just bought lifetime membership for, it really works for me

I just started playing Learn Japanese RPG: Hiragana Forbidden Language on Steam too which is teaching me lots of phrases (and helps refine alphabet)

Also the YouTube channel GameGengo is a personal favourite as he uses games as his canvas for teaching which I enjoy

Corocoro comic in Japan is like Shonen Jump but for younger kids. It has furigana meaning you can easily use Google translate to slowly self translate and learn. They have tons of their comics free on their website

Then aside from random TikTok creators I follow I think that's all my learning resources currently. HEARING Japanese is just as important as reading it, so you can get used to pronunciation and the like - I listen to Japan Top 50 on Spotify, watch anime (obviously pronunciation is exaggerated there) and podcasts exist too so you can hear it, even if you don't understand what's being said

Edit: I can't believe I forgot to mention HelloTalk, I basically use it like Twitter but for JP / ENG crossover posts. I ignore a lot of its other features

And once you're feeling more confident Todaii has daily articles from Japanese media with labelling for N5 and beyond levels (lots of furigana too)

influencers and waste

On my Instagram, I have over 100,000 followers and have done many different brand partnerships, some involving products and reviews. While I work with companies that align with my values and have found a way to sustain my educational and unpaid work, I’m going to call myself out here and expose a messy truth of being an influencer/creator.  To be honest, I have a surplus of items and products that I haven’t used and I’ve been making an active effort to give them away to family, friends, or neighbors. Awhile ago I spoke to my good friend (@marandas_world), the owner of @ecobronxllc, the first zero-waste shop in the Bronx, New York, about affordability for purchasing sustainable products. For many people, buying sustainable products isn’t always accessible and it can be scary buying products (especially paying more) because you don’t know if it’ll work for your body. So, the call out … while I have shared some products, I don’t end up using all of them, or even opening some, because I’m still using a product that I was gifted beforehand! I don’t need two shampoos or dish soaps at the same time. I’ve always been curious to ask other content creators: what do you end up doing with the packages you receive? Do you use all of the products that you’re given? In a live stream I had with Maranda, we talked about how there must be a push for a scaleable system for people to buy products or team up with local content creators to redistribute products to allow for the accessibility and consumption of products - especially more sustainable/ethical ones! In the consumerist society we live in, it’s often hard to opt out and say no to free products. Our minds genuinely bubble up and say “yes!”, with an occasional rejection. Because of everything I mentioned, I’ve been actively saying no to any gifted items (unless it’s food because … I will eat them, so if you’re a food company reading this feel free to reach out). But, I’m curious to see if you were to collect PR packages or gifted items from influencers that didn’t want their things… What would you do with them? One thing I’ve been thinking about is when natural disasters strike, many people don’t have access to hygiene/cleaning products, and I think it can go a long way to have or distribute free items. I collaborated with Eco Bronx on a project like this and think I need to do more in the future. I hope other creators and influencers do as well or are motivated by this message. In the meantime, please consider supporting @EcobronxLLC, a Black-owned business and zero-waste shop in NYC!  What are your thoughts?

Am I the only one who kinda hates how a large section of content creation has become less about the content people create, and is instead fueled by drama baiting creators and channels? Like I haven’t seen so much negativity and infighting with some communities in such a long time and it seems to be filled by these creators who use it in order to get more clicks and views.

I’ve seen articles framed as something purposefully misleading or worded in a way to try to stir up drama between communities and get more attention to their site.

There’s still a lot of good creators making so many creative things, but a large section of it has just become shitty reality tv between people who only react to other people’s shitty reality tv. I’m just confused as to how a job that is meant to be at its core about creativity and passion has been taken over by the drama that arises between people who cater to that negativity and feed into it.

I think there wouldn't have been a victim in the same sense. I think he'd probably be verbally abusive towards everyone who he possibly could be.

He'd still be fighting for that sense of superiority, for sure.

Okay so genuine question but if Anya wasn’t on the ship, what would have Jimmy done? Would there still be a victim or would it have just gone smoothly?
