Blooming into our future
if i had money to waste i would blaze this picture of Tad because I think everyone should look at it
looking away
there are still parts of it that don’t feel real like that we were only here for two years before november pulled you away so violently that it tore my life into two halves
what an honor it was to care for you during a time that you needed care now all i’m trying to do is carve my name into the earth with the tool that you left me while resisting the urge to turn them on myself
i love you, dad i think about you all the time and i’m sorry for the destructive parts of me that i haven’t figured out yet in this endless search for something that feels good
i pray that i haven’t lost you and that you’ve just given me the courtesy of looking away
1999 few doodles bc i don't know what's harder, to draw the hex or to get my drifter a date (soon)
hello! I was just curious--in yer ambient tracks, do you do any field recording to produce those?
you really inspired me to start to make my own stuff a few years ago but I've just been using my phone for the field recordings--figure it's about time to get a dedicated device and was wondering if you had any recommendations!
just thought to ask! thank you!
hello! i actually don't use very many field recordings for my ambient work. if it sounds like i do i'm usually just pointing a microphone out my window or something lol.
but, i do have some suggestions. zoom and tascam are the big reliable brands for portable stereo recorders. they can get really expensive but you don't need a super nice one, their $100-120 dollar models work just fine. also worth considering: zoom and shure both make stereo microphones that plug right into your phone (via lightning or usb-c) that are super convenient. i have a shure mv88 (the cheaper original model, not the mv88+) and it works really well. but as far as i know it's only for iphone.
whatever the case, as long as it's a stereo recorder from any of those brands i think it'll add a lot of depth and interest to your ambient work. there's simply nothing like putting on a good pair of headphones and feeling like you're actually there. there's a little bird chirping in a tree to the left, then a car gently drives by to the right. ahhh oh my god it fuckin' rules
“STOP LYING TO ME😡”
What? Huh? You want me to stop? Sorry my ears don't work too good and I can't hear you over the wet slapping. The fish? You don't like it when I hit you with the fish? Why?
