Felt Like Drawing Some Hollow Knight Ocs Interacting

OHOOOOO that’s some good angst I wonder if little Vanessa is good in this universe or was corrupted when she found out what she did

Little Vanessa is good! She was still corrupted when she realized what she did, but instead of being quite the super bitch, she’s just a really, really sad and fearful child. Like regular Vanessa, she isn’t always cognizant to the world around her, often not realizing what had happened and thinking that things should be how they used to be before everything went wrong. So she doesn’t understand why they’re not and why she’s all alone. Other times she is fully aware of she had done and keeps herself away from others.

After the accident, she ran off tearfully into the woods because killing someone with her magic, no matter how accidental it was or how sorry she was, would definitely warrant severe punishment maybe even get her killed. She stayed away for a few days, clueless as to what was happening to the rest of Subcon before she carefully decided to returns back to the manor. She was to out of it to register the state of the forest around her right away and that it really, really shouldn’t be snowy and icy. Stealth had to be taken to avoid whatever the new glowly noodley things were that had for some reason taken to inhabiting the village. It was only when she entered the manor that she was struck by just how badly she messed up when she came face to face with the frozen forms of everyone within.

Currently, she hides herself away in the manor, it being the only place left in Subcon that she feels any semblance of security in. Both for herself and for others.

Finally got to making a proper reference for my Subcon Kingdom AU prince. 

Not pictured is a small lock pick set he keeps tucked away in one of his boots because he doesn’t ever want to be locked up again.

I'm torn about baby Snatcher because on one hand, he's adorable, but on the other hand, knowing Snatcher's backstory makes this a big Oh No...

Oh No indeed. And no sdjkfhasj the cliff things was just a joke.

This is what I’ve come up with so far for how baby Snatcher came to be:

The young prince wished to see little Vanessa's magic for himself, but she was absolutely forbidden from using her magic within the Manor. So after talking her into it, he helped her sneak out into the woods so she could show him her magic.

They had accidentally spent more time than they realized out there hanging out and playing and the guards were, understandably enough, sent out to find them. The sound of the guard’s approach freaked Vanessa out because she knew she was going to be in really big trouble and this set off her magic, sending ice and snow whipping around her. The prince tried to help calm her down, but in the process was accidentally struck by a large shard of ice and killed. The realization that she had just killed her friend only made Vanessa's freak out even worse and, without even realizing it, her magic lashed out and covered the entirety of Subcon in snow and ice. And we all know how that went.

And in regards to interactions with Hattie, you said it best, Baby Snatcher is not a big meanie. He is a child who’s been stuck in a cold, unchanging environment who isn’t exactly aware of how much time has passed but has still grown quite bored with all the sameness, so he's excited and enjoys anything that’s different. Which is basically just anyone that comes into Subcon, obviously including Hattie. He’s excitable, eager to please and help, and he loves showoff anything and everything he can. Although, spending most of his existence being dead and generally only interacting with others that are dead does make it hard for him to understand what is and isn’t dangerous those who are still living, though he rarely ever means harm with his actions. 

Okay, here are a few random ideas I thought of:

The village coming back to life as people find it again, and Elderbug watching happily

Young Hornet, possibly with her mom or with her nail when it was too big for her.

Sly before he becomes a merchant, when he was the Great Nailsage. Possibly while he was teaching young Oro, Mato, and Sheo.

Cloth reuniting with Nola. (Nola us mentioned a lot by cloth, but Nola is never actually seen in the game.)

Decided Sly gets to have had a fluffy collared cloak in the past that the Nailmaster Brothers decided to copy for their own signature cloaks. Honestly, everyone deserves a fluffy collared cloak.

Then of course tiny baby Hornet is always fun to draw.

More Pokemon in Hollow Knight style, this time all the moths! 

Frosmoth is one of my favorite Galar pokemon, but out of these designs I like Venomoth the most. Apparently Volcarona has a different design every time I draw them, though I think I may settle for one closer to the one below.
