Real life cultural exchange is my favorite crossover

Meiji period fashion was some of the best in the world, speaking purely from an aesthetic standpoint you can really see the collision of European and Japanese standards of beauty and how their broad agreement even in particulars (the similarity between Japanese and Gibson girl bouffants, the obi vs the corset, the obi knot vs the bustle, the mutual covetousness for exotic textiles, the feverish swapping of both art styles and subjects) combined and produced some of the most interesting cultural exchange we have this level of documentation for. Europeans were wearing kimono or adapting them into tea gowns, japanese were pairing lacy Edwardian blouses with skirt hakama and little button up boots. haori jackets with bowler hats and European style lapels. if steampunk was any good as an aesthetic it would steal wholesale from the copious records we have in both graphic arts and photography of how people were dressing in this milieu.

Pretty self explanatory, a poll for anthro furry/scalie/whatever the term is for bugs characters.

Inspired by polls like @cool-hat-bracket, @thegreatbigdetectivepolll, @latinotiktok's latinosexyman tournament, @who-do-i-know-this-man, @mostannoyingfandom-poll, @doomed-bythe-narrative, @least-sexy-man-competition, and @worstcharacterpoll.

What counts as "Anthro"?

For a character to be elligible for submission they must:

Have a humanoid body, but animal facial features. What this means is that they have to walk around on two legs but their face must be the face of an animal. I don't want to see any humans who just happen to have cat ears in the submissions, they gotta look like someone sewed an animal head onto a human torso. The body can be anything from fully humanized to something like a literal rat that walks on two legs.

Be based on a real life animal. I'm not gonna add fictional species for this poll, because they fall in a bit of a gray area between anthro and just a separate species altogether. Remember to specify what animal your submission is supposed to be.

Be relatively well known. You can submit obscure characters (in fact, PLEASE submit obscure characters) but no ocs. If google shows no results for them they cannot be submitted.

Not be from a dating sim because there are way, way too many of them. This rule is only here so I don't end up googling 50 different R18 furry dating sims. Spare me please, I beg of thee.

Not be from any sort of real life religion because that's disrespectful as shit.

finally, NICK WILDE HAS A GUARANTEED SPOT BECAUSE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE AN ANTHRO TOURNAMENT WITHOUT HIM. JUAN CARLOS BODOQUE HAS A GUARANTEED SPOT BECAUSE I LIKE HIM. PLEASE SUBMIT BEASTARS OR LACKADAISY CHARACTERS BECAUSE I WILL EXPLODE IF THOSE SERIES DON'T GET NOMINATED.

The poll will prioritize multiple sources. What that means is that if two characters from the same show are submitted, ONLY the one with the most amount of submissions will be put on the bracket. If both characters have the same amount of submissions a preliminary voting round will be held to decide who goes on the bracket.

Submissions will close on May 8th, 10:00PM CLT at the earliest. However the form will remain open longer if we can't reach our minimum of 32 submissions.
