Watching the old Clone Wars AMVs are so nastoligic. Like I remember when they first came out. Anyways speaking of them, does anyone remember this Echo AMV with the song Right Here Waiting For You by Richard Marx? I can’t find it and it’s bothering me.

So true so true pop off. You have put exactly how I feel on the treatment towards Yukio into words. And to add on with a little bit to Yukio and Rin’s interactions, and how I view them, Yukio really truly cares for his brother. And it’s seen a lot through out the manga and anime, people just choose to ignore it and look at the harshness of it.

Yukio yelling at Rin because of a mission? Yukio just being an ass then? No. He truly is scared that one day his brothers gonna do something stupid and because of that action Rin will be executed. But the only way Yukio knows how to show it is through yelling and arguing. As said in the above post, Yukio doesn’t care about his own life, he really only cares about Rin’s.

And I do want it add on I love Rin, he’s a great guy, but some of his decisions aren’t always the best. He’s a selfless character which is almost the opposite of Yukio in a sense. The way I view it is that Yukio is selfish of Rin’s life, while Rin himself is selfless towards it to an extent. (Of course Rin doesn’t outright want to die but he doesn’t care about how his positive actions could cause it [not saying it’s bad I’m just stating a fact in a neutral kind of tone]). And you can actually see this in the Blue Exorcist movie, specifically the opening scene with the train.

I think if people paid more attention to the story and depth of each character in Blue Exorcist, they’d might see that Yukio isn’t such a horrible person. And I’m ngl I’m very subjective towards Yukio because I like him a lot. He’s a fleshed out character with relatable feelings and flaws. And I honestly don’t understand some of the hate sent his way. (Of course there were a couple moments where I end up signing and going “Yukio why?” But I still don’t see them as a huge reason to hate him that much).

Also another thing, as I keep adding more and more stuff, Yukio is not an adult. He’s a teenager. Just like Rin. And I feel that people forget that a lot. Yukio is still developing as a person and into an adult. And this fact is even referenced in the manga.

Honestly in the end, Yukio to me is just a really relatable character and not someone who deserves all this hate. Some of the comments I’ve seen about him make me very concerned as a human being. Because the world isn’t black and white, but people tend to view Blue Exorcist with that lens. And so grey characters, such as Yukio, will either get hated on or overlooked, like Shima, for a character who can generally be seen as the good guy, Rin.

I could honestly go on and on about Yukio and how deep his character is, so I’m gonna stop myself here and leave it at that. Also like the post above please don’t respond with unnecessary hate (if you have a genuine comment or question that’s fine)

how do you feel about yukio? most bonrin seem to hate him?

Sorry this one took me a while to answer. Had to get my thoughts straight. So, without further ado:

*gets ready to step on a lot of toes*

Let me start by saying this blog and blogger supports Yukio. You can dislike any character you want, of course, but I won't respond to hate on him. Poor guy gets a lot of that, and I am extremely grateful he isn't an actual person, because there is no way Yukio would survive all the hate and vitriol sent his way if he was an actual person. When you consider the hate he gets and the fact that he is one of the most self-loathing, depressed, and suicidal characters in the manga... it just breaks my heart.

Yukio is, in my opinion (which you're free to disagree with) an extremely well written character, and (again, in my opinion) a sympathetic one. He is one of the best portrayals of a depressed and suicidal character I've seen in manga/anime, and I am so hopeful for the next arc of the manga that he gets some healing from all of that. He's spent most of his life without the proper support he needed (I adore Shirou, but will never agree with the path he chose for Yukio, even if I understand why he did it) and with very little, if any, actual mental/emotional support. Rin wants to help him and love him, but because of the secrets and roles thrust upon them, that wasn't much of an option until very recently, and trusting someone with all of that -- especially if you're already severely depressed and self-loathing -- is not an easy thing to just start doing. If you've spent your life keeping things to yourself, you can't just turn that off.

Especially if one of the things you hate most about yourself is weakness.

In my opinion, a lot of the hate comes from people who have never really done a lot of looking at Yukio as a character. They just see him as someone who was mean to Rin (who in their opinion, never did/does anything wrong) without ever looking at what might have led him down that road.

(It also makes me worry about how they would respond to real life people with depression or suicidal tendencies, and hope desperately that they're more understanding and gentle.)

Yukio has also been a self-destructive character for a while now, and as tends to be the case with self-destructive characters, his destruction tends to spread around to others. (Sorry Rin) He's trying to make the world a better place by getting rid of the corruption around him, and unsurprisingly, it's not going well because this boy with all his self-loathing, also doesn't want to drag anyone else down with him, so he's typically a loner with his actions and plans. His own life isn't worth anything to him, so he's reckless with it and dangerous because of that.

(Which is where a lot of his conflict with Rin comes from. He just wants it to be over and Rin won't take 'leave me alone' as an answer. Neither is great at listening to the other.)

I like Yukio. I want him to find healing and to realize that he has friends he can trust in (I cannot describe how much I love the little meal the cram group shares after Rin temporarily burned Satan connection. I LOVE how much this manga is about friendship and healing together and 🥲)

At the end of the day, Yukio is a boy who is complicated and a lot of why I like him, and Blue Exorcist, is the complexity. They feel real. They don't always do the right thing, or even the logical thing. They make mistakes and they're messy characters. But Yukio still grabs Rin's arm to save him in a fight, and still tears up when his friends call him by his name and forgive him. Yukio loves penguins, comedy manga, and hates cooking. Yukio runs to his twin to eat lunch so he doesn't have to upset the girls in his class, has a million spare glasses, always refers to his twin (who is ostracized by their society) as niisan (never distancing their relation.) He accepted full responsibility for his twin when he was the younger one, and never questioned doing it even if it meant taking on horrible tasks. He's been able to see demons his entire life, and despite spending his childhood terrified of them, worked hard to become the youngest exorcist ever. He loves and hates, and he's a messy character, and I like him.

So, sorry for the word vomit xD That's my opinion on Yukio.

//I have to say it even tho I love the meme- Phil has not adopted Ranboo as his son. He- on the request of Technos and loyalty of Ranboos actions came to get him. Techno said Ranboo a good "kid" and they (Phil and Techno). Talked a little about him and Techno felt "bad". Phil moral system is kinda hard to pin down. But he goes to get Ranboo because lets be honest no one gave a fuck enough to get him. He was homeless but even the "bad guy" came back for him.

// Philza and Wilbur are the only canon family. No if and or butts about it. Ghostbur is a sore spot for him that no one really asks about.

I think it really stuck out how Phil switch between too modes with Ghostbur.

When he screams about friend, Philza stand his ground he does not regret helping in destroying L'Manberg. But quickly tires to sooth him. Because he can't quite dissociate Alive Wilbur and Ghostbur. He openly admits that he has been looking into bring Wlibur back. But he doesn't go into detail and Techno does not push him.

When Ghostbur comes back (talking about the kill me again to bring me back.) He tires (the way Philza plays his character can be read in so many ways. This is my interpretation of it.) To distances himself vocally from Ghostbur. And becomes eerily quiet, at the talk of him having to kill Wilbur again. On a whim, on a chance that MAYBE it brings Wilbur back. A connection he still see ghostbur as his son- then Ghostbur talks about remaking L'Manberg and Phil disassociate again, he hards and flat out disconnects (from voice chat lol). Not My Son.

We talk about betrayal but Phil was never on a side. He was with L'Manberg at the start because it was something his son created. Not for his own personal gain the one to gain was Wilbur.

Heres a prefect example, Fundy and Niki of their own accord fuck over L'Manberg in its final moments. That is real betrayal, Phil who floats between who ever needs him allies with no one.

Expect on one motive to destroy L'Manberg after he has silently gone through his own trauma. It ruined his kid- and in a way, proved GLatt right. (Without him everything would be destroyed.)

Let me round back to just how broken up Phil feels about Wilbur. And how him killing him was not Phil fault. (To save some from my long ass post heres a summary.) There was not a single out for Wilbur after he destroyed L'Manberg. He beg for death because Wlibur could not live with the guilt and tinge of madness. To confront his friends after a sweeping victory that he single handedly ruined. No- even ghostbur says everyone hated Alivebur.

And its true- they won he couldn't just let it be. (Back to phil-)

No one notices, Phil doesn't hate the individual person. Its not that personal, its the government. And in a way he tells them it has corrupted them all. This isn't him trying to justify his actions. Its the truth. He held the blade that killed his son. And he watched as people torn each other apart over L'Manberg. Exiling people, the fight over who would rule, the literal public execution, the countless betrayals, the manipulation. Lets not forget the favorite green boy who stirrs the pot from the sidelines doesn't help neither.

We don't see Phil reaction after Wilburs death by his hands. He disappears. (besides some goofs and gafs but im talkin hard canon.)

When it came to sneaking into the Festival. Its like he's telling himself, more than he is to anyone else. "I wasn't invited so I'm not going." (It's like he's trying to convince himself.) But I think he knew no one was really invited. He is building a farm in the middle of the fucking artic for goodness sake. That is 100% busy work to keep his mind from spiraling. He didn't want to go and he just listen to what happen from Techno. He doesn't get involve social personal relationships like Techno. Techno build friendships and get betrayed.

Phil builds nothing because it never meant to becomes personal- until destroying L'Manberg is put on the table. Phil agrees but not for Techno cause- not for Dream, not really because of the government. Government only plays a small part and then it finally gets personal when he he brings up Wilbur.

Wilbur won hands down, they got the victory. They got L'Manberg back as Phil tries to reason with Wilbur who still clicks the button anyway. Other than that, he doesn't share the same hatred as Techno. No investment like Tommy, Tubbo and the rest. Phil sits in limbo, until someone ask something of him.

It was Wilbur his son and Techno his close friend. No one else. One he had to kill because of his own madness. The second he allied himself with for his own personal reason.

Cause I can guarantee, Techno, nor Dream, nor Tommy even thought about Wilbur during the end. But Phil sure did, he showed just a small glimpse of his true feelings.

So uh like idk if this has been said or not before but quick take. Some of the og colored armor was red right? Well what if it was chosen to show bleeding/blood. Especially since it was a more darker red and not a light one. Like “hey we’re human too and we also bleed!” That they’re not just clones but also people and so when most groups changed colors, that’s why the Coruscant Guard stays red. But slowly that red changes from showing their human to the color of dying brothers. That they die for these people and they metaphorically paint the dead brothers blood on their armor. And so imagine how much worse it feels during Fives death. Anyways red am I right aha- (gets shot)
