The truth doesn’t care about our needs or wants. It doesn’t care about our governments, our ideologies, our religions. It will lie in wait for all time. And this, at last, is the gift of Chernobyl. Where I once would fear the cost of truth, now I only ask… What is the cost of lies?

listen i know we’re gonna get a slow cinematic reveal that carol’s ship has arrived to save tony and nebula, but i much prefer the idea of nebula waiting until tony’s finished recording all his goodbye messages, and then she’s like “hey, are you done? this glowing woman showed up like three hours ago to save us but you seemed to be in the middle of something”
ok but I like how Venom doesn’t perpetuate violent masculinity tropes. like remember when Eddie’s all down on his luck and stuff and he’s kinda morosely hanging out in a bar and then a tv segment on Drake comes on and he’s like “turn it off” and that other dude is like “some of us are trying to watch that”? that right there is the perfect setup for a bar fight. we’ve all seen it. the protagonist is at his lowest point. and out of frustration he gets drunk and starts a fight in a bar over something stupid. but instead Eddie just accepts it and removes himself from the situation by going home. he’s in a bad mood. he’s going through a really dark period in his life. but he doesn’t cope by getting into a fight that the movie tells us we should excuse “because he’s angry.” and just. good job guys. i wasn’t expecting that kind of wholesomeness from this type of movie. but you delivered it.
