I hope this appeal finds you well. My name is Mahmoud Fathy Izzeddeen. I'm 34 years old single. I'm from Palestine and I am currently living in Gaza. The city has been witnessing a very brutal genocide for more than a year and that caused us big problems and challenges in getting important things for my family. My family are five siblings one of whom is an autistic young brother, he constantly needs very special care and mental medicine. My parents are hypertensive and heart patients my mother is type 3 diabetic patient. The genocide has impaired all my chances and efforts of finding a job as almost all schools have been bombed and the still-erected schools are shelters for displaced people. I was forced to use up all my money during the displacement and now I don't have enough money to buy the essentials of my household.

Imagine fleeing for your life, and losing not only your home, but your dreams of escape, and even the basic ability to feed your children—all while being repeatedly silenced. This is the heartbreaking reality for Hossam and his family in Gaza.

Hossam, his wife Hanan, and their family of four originally hoped to escape the ongoing war and genocide in Gaza. Despite tireless efforts, they have only raised €1,800, not even enough for a single person to escape, let alone six (for reference, it costs about €5000 for ONE PERSON to evacuate to safety).

With their escape seemingly slipping out of reach, they shifted their dream to something as simple—and heartbreaking—as building a single room atop the ruins of their home. But even that plan has proved impossible.

The donations are so scarce that they cannot afford the cement and materials needed to build shelter. Now, they are forced to live in a torn tent, vulnerable to stray animals, insects, and the bitter cold. Their focus has shifted again—this time to merely surviving, providing food for their children. Even this has become an uphill battle, as the prices for basic necessities have skyrocketed, leaving the family hungry and helpless.

On top of it all, Hossam’s family is being censored. Every time they try to raise their voice on platforms like Tumblr, their accounts are banned, their messages erased, and their access blocked. They are being silenced in the middle of a war zone for trying to show people their grim and heartbreaking reality.

The Al-Qazzaz family's campaign desperately needs exposure and donations. Their fundraiser has stagnated at just €1,800; a heartbreakingly small amount that is not enough to escape, rebuild...or even survive. They need immediate help to feed their children and live with dignity amidst unimaginable fear, suffering, and uncertainty.
