I can’t go anywhere so I’m asking you random questions lol. So if the cullens weren’t limited by the sun or their skin or whatever, what state do you think they’d want to live in?

oooh, good one. honestly, I think they all have wildly different preferences of where to live!

esme: I think the canon cover story of “esme wants to live in a small town” is probably true. I think she likes the idea of a more old-fashioned community where everyone knows each other’s names and exchanges cheery greetings. she would pick somewhere with pretty architecture, maybe a neighborhood with a lot of victorian “gingerbread trim” -style houses she could help restore. a nice climate for gardening would also be key.

carlisle: I think he’d be content with a lot of the same things as esme! but he’d definitely want somewhere where he felt he could make a difference at the local hospital, too. he and esme might eventually find their way back to the UK—probably somewhere in the English countryside, maybe the midlands.

emmett: he grew up in appalachia, but I think as a vampire he’d prefer somewhere out west, with more challenging topography and a wide variety of big game. maybe the rockies or the sierras—somewhere with dope national parks, like wyoming or colorado.

rosalie: a city girl through and through. she and emmett might have to compromise with a suburb, or maybe she could be talked into one of the trendier parts of CO, like Boulder. extremely anti-small town—she wants somewhere interesting, thank you very much. I could see her happy in various cosmopolitan cities in Europe, too.

bella: I think she’d love to show Edward her beloved Arizona. they’d probably end up somewhere trendy in the southwest, maybe Santa Fe or Sedona.

edward: an Old World boy for sure. he’d want to choose a musical hub, Prague or Budapest or Vienna or something.

alice: the most expensive possible penthouse in Paris. if not for the Volturi’s proximity she’d probably hit up Milan, maybe Venice. she wants to be literally drowning in Culture at all times.

jasper: sure, he liked Texas and Central America, but he’s not overly attached to any geographic area in particular—he just likes wide open spaces and lots of nature, where he can chill without the temptation and emotional maelstrom of humans. he and alice could probably compromise with somewhere like Montenegro, Reykjavik, Switzerland. maybe build a super remote but gleamingly modern chalet somewhere, or a fancy alpine lake house.
