John is currently working toward his MBA degree in Global Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and has focused his studies on intersections between business and human rights. His interest in this area grew out of his experience in the Peace Corps in Zambia, where he witnessed first-hand the impact that mining operations have on local communities and vulnerable populations and the importance of strong rule of law and of conducting business in a socially responsible manner. He later went on to work with Hewlett Packard Enterprise on responsible sourcing and supply chain issues.
Now John is applying his business perspective in support of the BHRP’s work to explore new developments at the intersection of technology and human rights, such as network shutdowns, and to inform internal decision-making by analyzing human rights risk and opportunity.
