…like…kim getting robbed isn’t that funny bruh.
a mother of two was tied up and thrown in a bathtub begging two men not to rape her or kill her. she had her cell phones stolen, her privacy invaded, her sense of safety robbed, and her husband had to cancel a concert mid-show to go be with her.
their entire family is in hysterics. like, thank god north and saint were in nyc with kanye, but what if they weren’t? i sympathize with the entire family, this isn’t something i personally find that entertaining.
Seeing that other question gave me the courage to ask, I would really like to know the effects and also how reversible that are.
These are the typical results of hormone replacement therapy which includes taking estrogen and anti-androgens (testosterone-blockers).
NOTE: Remember that hormones affect each person differently and not all of these effects are guaranteed for everyone)
Breasts
semi-reversible: will shrink a little, surgery needed for full removal
Body hair
lessens and becomes thinner
fully-reversible
Facial hair
facial hair may become thinner/lighter but will not disappear completely without permanent hair removal
fully-reversible (before permanent hair removal)
Skin
skin will become noticeably softer and thinner/delicate
bruising will likely occur more easily
fully-reversible
Fat redistribution
fat will redistribute from masculine areas (upper body, waist and stomach) to feminine areas (lower body, hips and butt)
fat redistribution will also occur in the face
fully-reversible
Muscle Mass
significant decrease in muscle mass and strength (especially in upper body)
fully-reversible
Genitals
testicles will shrink significantly
penis may shrink somewhat
production of testosterone and sperm will be greatly reduced
reduced sex-drive
reduced erections
reduced ejaculation (may stop completely)
probable infertility in the long term
semi-reversible: it is not known whether or not these effects are reversible or not. These effects are likely reversible in the short term, and likely not reversible in the long term
Body/other
decrease in oiliness of hair
possible minor feet/height shrinkage (rare)
change in body odor
Emotional changes
Most trans girls I have talked to have experienced an emotional shift when starting hormones. Having the correct hormone fueling our bodies results in a calmness/peace within ourselves both emotionally and hormonally that makes you feel much more at-ease in your own body. That is the best way I can describe it.
This is AMAZING. The teacher’s rebuttal:
I just commented this on a transphobic post that was all like, “In a sexual species, females have two X chromosomes and males have an X and a Y, I’m not a bigot it’s just science.” I’m a science teacher so I responded with this.
First of all, in a sexual species, you can have females be XX and males be X (insects), you can have females be ZW and males be ZZ (birds), you can have females be females because they developed in a warm environment and males be males because they developed in a cool environment (reptiles), you can have females be females because they lost a penis sword fighting contest (some flatworms), you can have males be males because they were born female, but changed sexes because the only male in their group died (parrotfish and clownfish), you can have males look and act like females because they are trying to get close enough to actual females to mate with them (cuttlefish, bluegills, others), or you can be one of thousands of sexes (slime mold, some mushrooms.) Oh, did you mean humans? Oh ok then. You can be male because you were born female, but you have 5-alphareductase deficiency and so you grew a penis at age 12. You can be female because you have an X and a Y chromosome but you are insensitive to androgens, and so you have a female body. You can be female because you have an X and a Y chromosome but your Y is missing the SRY gene, and so you have a female body. You can be male because you have two X chromosomes, but one of your X’s HAS an SRY gene, and so you have a male body. You can be male because you have two X chromosomes- but also a Y. You can be female because you have only one X chromosome at all. And you can be male because you have two X chromosomes, but your heart and brain are male. And vice - effing - versa. Don’t use science to justify your bigotry. The world is way too weird for that shit.
Ooouuuccchhh :ccc my wisdom tooth has decided to grow crooked and it reeeally hurts :,c
The theme of the 2017 SAG Awards was unity, unity, and more unity. For one of the final speeches of the night, David Harbour of Stranger Things collected the award for best performance by an ensemble, slinging (or rather, shouting) unity at the audience. The crowd got on its feet. In the audience, Courtney B. Vance, Lea DeLaria, and Viggo Mortensen can be spotted standing at attention.
