When I First Moved To This Country, Everyone Was So Shocked At How I Would Greet My Friends With A Kiss

When I first moved to this country, everyone was so shocked at how I would greet my friends with a kiss on the cheek. But I never stopped doing that, and now, so many of my homies do that too lol. I started a movement in my friend group, where kissing on the cheek as a sign of affection is completely normal no matter if its a dude or a girl.

I hope this doesn't sound rude but it's so bizarre to me how North-Americans just simply refuse to be casually affectionate with friends. Like, why won't you hug your friend? Cuddle with them, ruffle their hair, kiss their cheek, give them a massage, whatever! It's not necessarily sexual or sensual or malicious or anything like that! It's just affection. Just love. Life is so short to not express love to the people in your life just because you're afraid of being vulnerable or think It's weird. This is truly heartbreaking to me because affection between friends is something perfectly common and normal here in my country. Like, literally, why not cuddle with your friend? What's wrong with it? Not everything has to be sexual or flirting LOL platonic love exists and it's not weird or disgusting or awkward or obscene. It's beautiful! Love between friends is one of the most beautiful things in life and needs to be cherished while we're still here ❤️
