More pics of my OC with my amazing boyfriend's OC Glacier Wind
A rare sight to behold and it's now part of my collection. During WWII the United States Navy experimented with the idea of issuing garrison caps for the dungaree uniforms that could be interchangeable with the traditional dixie cup caps. The plan was eventually shelved and would never be considered again and officially died with the retirement of the dungaree uniforms in the 1990s. That wasn't to say that these caps didn't see use though. Much like the early Ike jackets, these were custom items that the sailor would have to pay for himself. They followed the same pattern as other US Navy and US Marine Corps garrison caps and fit well with the uniforms worn while at sea. These are extremely uncommon and this is actually the first time I've ever seen one in person. Knowing what it was and the fact it was only $4, I quickly snatched it up and now proudly have it in my collection with my US Navy Lieutenant's garrison cap.
One of my other hobbies I figured I’d share is that I collect old military uniforms for the purpose of restoring/preserving them. While most unfortunately don’t have names in them, the one on the far right in this picture does. It’s named to a gentleman who flew fifty missions in a B-29 Superfortress bomber over Japan as a crewman. I also help other collectors I know locate the veterans or the families of veterans who once possessed the items they have.
Swing, have you ever heard of the Andrew sisters? I'm hoping so
Of course! Here in Equestria we've got a similar trio who go around performing. They're also a personal favorite of Princess Celestia but you didn't hear it from me.
Something else I do when I’m not writing MLP fanfics or being lazy, is train as aircrew to eventually fly our museum’s WWII B-25 bomber. As a student pilot, I’ve not gotten enough hours to train yet as copilot so for now I’m training as a flight engineer and navigator. For navigation, I sit in the most forward seat in the nose which is nicknamed “the greenhouse” because of all the windows which make it sweltering hot. But it always offers the best views.
One item I don’t show off much in my collection, mostly due to the feelings against anything Confederate in the last year, is an unissued Southern Cross of Honor. The SCH was essentially the South’s version of the Medal of Honor (which originated in the Civil War). The SCH though was never actually awarded during the Civil War, instead the first was awarded in 1900 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy who created the award and was given to Southern veterans in recognition of loyal, honorable service to the South. I picked this one up at a flea market last summer for $7 and took it to a guy I know who said it’s worth around $250 as is. A named one will typically sell for around $300-$750 depending on who it was awarded to and what battles they participated in.

• He has a bad habit of snoring really loud when he sleeps, something that sometimes keeps his coltfriend up half the night • Swing won't admit it but he is very easily bribed with Tagalong cookies from the Filly Scouts and anything with caramel in it • Even though he's a larger stallion in height and build standards, Swing likes to be held and snuggled by his smaller coltfriend when they're laying in bed • Swing is absolutely terrified of spiders, thunderstorms, and the dark and will often hide behind his coltfriend when he's scared • When he gets flustered the fur on his chest fluffs up slightly, a genetic effect from one of his parents being a pegasus • He's very easily flustered at the mere mention of something naughty or at any compliment given to him
How many bits do you make a year?
Currently at corporal, and with the bonus from being Luna's secretary, I make about 60,000 bits a year.
Today on Random Ass Texts from my Mom, there’s this...
