Connecting with Gods and Deities
Hello, My name is Alva Tauri! I am an herbalist, spirit worker, tarot and oracle reader, and lunar and herbal witch dedicated to closing the education gap when it comes to herbalism and witch practices!
Today, I wanted to talk about ways in which I connect with the Gods and deities I worship in my life, to aid new witches in this task in their day to day practice. I believe that we oftentimes overcomplicated this part of our practice and that can make this task seem overwhelming and daunting when, in reality, connection can be simple.
I want to gear this post towards my new witches who do not fully grasp the concept yet or don't yet have an altar, as well as my fellow neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or chronically ill witches who may find this task daunting for other reasons (I.E. low physical, low mental energy, physical pain, etc.) A portion of this post will be dedicated to low energy ways to connect with your Gods and/or deities to make your practice a bit easier.
Let's get started!
Day to Day Connections
it can be difficult to remember to do rituals or sit at our altar intentionally in our busy lives. here are some tasks you can do within minutes every single day to connect with your Gods and/or deities - great for days that are hectic or with minimal free time:
light a candle and simply say thank you
offer the meal or snack that you made to them
offer your drink to them
bit them goodmorning and goodnight
thank them for the things you enjoy throughout your day
dedicate a cleaning task to them (I.E. vacuuming, doing laundry, etc.)
cleanse your space spiritually and dedicate that task to them (I.E. sage burning, incense, etc.)
Altar-less Connections
we were all new or closeted witches at one point in our lives. none of us started with an altar and a fancy set up with all the tools we needed. here are some ways that you can connect with your Gods and/or deities without an altar:
read about your Gods and/or deities myths and legends
spend some time meditating and simply thinking about them
wear their colors as symbols
make a digital offering to them online
write poetry for them
pray to them
make a playlist for them and listen to it
talk to them about your day (this can be in your head if you are closeted. you do not have to pray out loud for them to hear you. they are always with you and supporting you)
Low Energy Connections
for my fellow neurodivergent, chronically ill, and/or mentally ill witches, here is a section full of little ways you can connect with your Gods and/or deities on rough days that leave you with low mental or physical energy:
pray from the comfort of your bed (they will know you mean this with good intentions. they will not be offended. trust me.)
talk to them about your day
dedicate your self-care routine (no matter how short or long it is) to your Gods and/or deities
offer them your food or drink - this can be as simple as offering them a glass of water if that is all you have the energy to get in that moment
light a candle or incense in their honor (I recommend incense if you are feeling truly exhausted, as you can leaving it burning without any major repercussions, unlike a candle)
dedicate a moment of rest to them (I.E. sleeping, taking a nap, even just taking a moment to sit in silence and rest your body and mind)
make a playlist for them and listen
make a post or pinterest board in their honor
Advanced, More Time Consuming Methods of Connection
on days that you have the time and the energy and are feeling a calling to make a bigger grand gesture, here are some tasks I like to do at my altar. NOTE: you do not have to do these everyday or even every week. if you feel a calling to do this, then do. if you do not, then these are not required. remember, at the end of the day you know your relations with your Gods and/or deities better than anyone else. trust your gut and your intuition:
COMING SOON!
That's all for connections with your Gods and/or Deities! I hope that you found this helpful in your spiritual journey and I hope that you are able to apply this information to your practice.

I’ve always had a fascination with the philosophy of chaos magic and the history behind it. So, I’m going to take a page from my grimore and try my best to explain the philosophy of chaos magic, what it means and what it stands for. There’s a lot, and I tried to condense it as best I could, but I got all the essentials in there. At the end I’ll explain my feelings toward chaos magic and my personal beliefs. Enjoy! 🤗
Chaos Magic
Chaos magic, in its core, is the practice of manipulating the Universe and experimenting with probability. Chaos magicians are much like eclectic magic practitioners, but at the same time they are worlds apart.
Chaos magicians believe in the power of willpower and intention. Their magic focuses soley on the self and their energy. It goes against the very foundation of chaos magic to permanently adopt rituals and set beliefs into their craft. Their philosophy involves having no common components and using whatever ideas and practices that are helpful to them in the moment, even if they contradict the ideas and practices they used previously. For example, a chaos magician may dedicate a spell to a Greek deity one day, but the next they adopt a ritual from Satanism, only to throw it away the next hour.
Chaos magic is all about setting an intention into the Universe, saying “This will happen because I will it to”, by any means necessary. They adopt and disregard beliefs and rituals at a moments notice because they see the interconnectivity of everything. Every plant, every animal, every deity, demon, spirit and entity are all, essentially, the same exact thing. So it doesn’t matter from what religion or practice or belief you betray you borrow from, because all that matters is your intention and your personal energy.
This can be broken down in a simple equation shown here:
My beliefs
I’ve adopted some aspects of chaos magic into my craft, such as the belief in the interchangeability of everything and the practice of walking multiple paths at once. However, I couldn’t be classified as a “chaos magician” for one simple reason: I have permanent rituals ingrained in my craft. I have certain deities that I worship and while I am very eclectic in my path, I do have certain belief systems that I monogamously follow. For example, I claim Athena and Artemis as my patreon goddesses, but I also follow and pray to Macha, the Celtic goddess war, and I also celebrated holidays prelevant in the Wiccan religion. I whole-heartedly believe in the sanctity and power of one’s self, and that we all hold an immense energy that’s capable of swaying the Universe in our favor. But o also draw strength from my goddesses and the ancient wisdom of the Earth and Nature. While I don’t believe in a physical Satan or Lucifer, I admire the Satanist religion and have adopted their philosophy of free will into my craft. Same thing with angels; while I don’t believe in “angels” as you might hear about in Christian-centured religions, persay, I keep an eye out for numbers and other signs that some force of good in the Universe might be trying to show me. I belief in my own intention and my power to better the world around me as I was probably sent here to do. I believe we can all reach Nirvana, if you will, through insight and honing the energy in and around us to connect to the Universe’s network. Do, I guess you could call me a chaotic eclectic with. One who will use their energy for both the good of themself and those around them.
I hope this has given you a better look into chaos magic and at least answered some of your questions about the deeper meanings behind it. Remember, it’s all about intentions, kids!
Blessed be!
The word is made up of two: the French “clair”, meaning clear, and “cognizance”, which means knowing. “Clear knowing”. The ability to know things without realizing how.
Such knowledge can be about a person’s true intentions, authentic feelings or real worth; the right path to take; or what really happened to a missing object or person.
You could be the first in your bloodline to receive this gift from the divine. Or it could be something you inherited from one of your ancestors.
In my family’s faith, it is specifically Uranus, Neptune and Pluto who give this present.
It comes from a power that science is incapable of explaining or accepting.
It is different for everybody.
For some, it is knowledge subtly and quickly installed in your mind by a supernatural being: a deity, an ancestor, a ghost or an entity.
For others, it is a result of amplified logical thinking: an ability to read people’s facial expressions and gestures, or a talent for deductive reasoning.
Countless people claim to have claircognizance, when really, what they have is just a penchant for jumping to conclusions.
To be certain you have this gift, make a record of every knowing that comes to you. After some time, write down whether you were wrong or right.
If at least nine out of every ten instances have proven to be reliable, then you are a bona fide claircognizant. If seven to eight were correct, you might have this gift, but you still need to develop it. Anything less than seven is just luck, and that is not something one should trust.

Tarot Cheat Sheets!! (Minor Arcana)
Hi everyone! I made these tarot cheat sheets just in case anyone needs them :)
Hekáte, Goddess of Three, please accept our offerings and devotions on this Full Moon eve.
Please hear us, watch over us, and allow us to start anew, precious Mother of the Moon.
Bring light to us and lead us to Your garden, Hecate, as we crave Your Cloak and protection.
Hail Hekáte!
Of course, only put in your book of shadows/grimoire what you want. If you don't want to put certain subjects in your book then that's fine. It's your book, utilize it how you want. This is just a masterlist of ideas that I've put together. Feel free to add anything else to the list that I may have missed, because there's absolutely no way I included everything.
And for the love of all the gods, if you come across a closed entity or practice, don't try to work with the entity or practice if you're not already part of that group or tradition. You can research it but don't practice it.
