One of the key components of klance that I think is often missed in fics or other fan content is the fact that both Keith and Lance have to be equally invested in the smallest most insignificant bullshit. Too often I see Keith being depicted as begrudgingly going along with lances rivalry stuff and you are fools if you depict him like that.
