What would the Hewitt family think about a s/o or a victim who dresses modestly. Like they don't ever wear anything revealing because it's either they feel insecure, they have been taught to wear them, or they just like and feel comfortable wearing them. Like a woman will wear a abaya dress, and the men will.... I have no idea what the men modesty chlothes are, but you get the point.
Hi ! This is a wonderful ask - I'll try my best to answer it 🫀
First of all, Luda Mae is so relived. "Finally, a child of God!" Her and the family {excluding Thomas} are so tired of "current culture" and how "non-traditional" it is. Even if you aren't wearing modest clothing because of religious reasons, they'll treat it like you are.
Thomas doesn't mind one bit - he's used to modesty in the Hewitt household, this isn't any different {for the majority}. He loves you for your personality, not your clothes :)
{If you're fem-presenting}: Monty would be a bit..disappointed, that is, if he found you attractive. He will however, find ways to sexualize you despite this:
Using his cane to lift up your clothing
Purposely tripping you
Coercing you into helping him with certain {unnecessary} tasks
He's just being him, honestly {not excusatory}
Hoyt on the other hand, has more self-control {surprisingly}. Your modesty doesn't interest him; He might let his mind wander {if he's attracted to you}, but ultimately, his type involves more..'open' women
"I don't have much of an imagination, so I need to get a distinct image."
If you're wearing modest clothing because of insecurity:
Thomas will 100% understand. He wears his masks because of his insecurities, he will never pressure you to change your clothing.
Hoyt however...will try to coerce you out of said clothing and into more..revealing attire. {That is, if he's into you}
"Cmon, honey, I'm sure you look real nice under those clothes."
{This Sentence} Coming from Thomas {in the form of writing or something similar} or Luda Mae, is a compliment. They're trying to help build your confidence. If it comes from Hoyt however...He's 100% trying to coerce you. He doesn't mean this in an uplifting, pure way. Oh no, no, no, no.
_____
Anyway - Luda Mae is grateful to have a "child of God" under her roof, Monty and Hoyt are indifferent {depending on the person}, and Thomas is supportive of whatever you do 🫀
Strong-looking vulnerable men......Strong-looking vulnerable men.
You know the type. Big hands, big shoulders, could probably bench-press a car, but the moment they sit down, they look like they’re carrying the weight of the whole damn universe. Eyes that are just a little too soft for a face that sharp. Like, are you okay? Do you need a hug? Do you want to cry into my arms for three hours?
They look like they could destroy you, but deep down, you know they'd rather let themselves break first. What is it about them? Why do they look like they could hold you together when they’re clearly held together with duct tape and desperation? It’s unhinged. It’s unfair. I want to fix them. Or maybe I want to fall apart with them. I don’t even know anymore.
I love them so much they make me lose myself
AAAAAAHHHHHH
I need to draw Thomas kneeling crying throwing up in despondency and desperation

Serious question, because this might have changed the storyline of the tcm remakes. If Thomas ever had at least one friend, that ONE friend he managed to get from his upbringing. Possibly back from his childhood, too, let's just say that.
Would Thomas be possessive or a meek individual who would be desperate to keep them close. Like I'm talking about an extreme level of possessiveness that it would be considered sick. I think there's a word for that, I just don't know what it's called.
Because I can see Thomas becoming a stalker at one point and possibly following somebody close to him around if he needs to. Like a "threat" is close to his dear friend, and he's afraid that this person might take them away from him.
GN!Reader x Thomas Hewitt 🫀
SUMMARY: You and Thomas have known each other since grade school. As the town of Fuller dies, so does your desire to stay. Feeling guilty, you decide to visit the Hewitts one last time..but Thomas gets possessive following your attempted departure..
_____
Thomas is and always has been desperate for connection. Genuine understanding - Not just acknowledgement. It's rare to be accepted when you're different - And it sure as hell doesn't get easier in a small, conservative town like Fuller. Luckily enough, he had found someone. Someone who didn't recoil in disgust - Someone who didn't laugh when he tried to speak. Someone his momma approved of.
That was back in grade school - Back when things in Fuller were "good." Though, were they ever really good?
When his momma told you about the slaughterhouse shutting down, you were nothing but empathetic. You even offered to help the family out with what little time and money you had. Luda Mae, being the prideful woman she was, declined your offer.
"Keep some for yourself, hun. Gotta do what it takes to survive out here...we'll figure out a way."
Everything got worse when you decided you couldn't stay.
--
One day, you stopped visiting Luda at the community center. No longer stopped by at the slaughterhouse to see Thomas. It was like you were never there.
You had to tell them you were leaving - It wouldn't be right to abandon them all on their own..especially not Thomas. So, you packed up a small basket and headed over to the Hewitt residence. That evening, when you'd knocked on the door, Monty answered.
"Whadd'ya want?"
"I'm here for Ms. Mae..Luda Mae; And Thomas - Are they home?"
He squinted his eyes and weakly scoffed before opening the door further, letting you walk through. He then directed you to the kitchen where Luda Mae was; She'd been preparing dinner just as you walked in.
Monty swiftly knocked on the doorframe, grabbing her attention. As she turned, she scoffed "Monty, for the last damn time, I-" She stopped. Her expression neutralized as she saw you.
"Oh, ____, there you are! Gosh, I haven't seen you in so long; Where've you been?" - "Tommy's been worried sick about you.."
There it was. You'd made Thomas worry..which is exactly why you dreaded coming over; You didn't want to be reminded of the guilty feeling festering inside your stomach.
"Is he alright?" You asked, and Luda nodded.
"Oh, he's just fine, dear. Why don't you go say hi? He's in that damn basement again.."
You agreed, but quickly remembered the basket you brought.
"What's that?" Asked Charlie, he had been watching from the opposing doorway..unbeknownst to you.
"Oh..gifts..for you."
"Me?"
"Well, the family, yes."
"That's so kind of you, dear. What for?" Asked Luda Mae, grabbing the basket from you and placing it on the kitchen table.
"Just..felt like bringing some joy to this dying town."
"That's very kind of ya - Now go see what Tommy's up to, he's missed you like crazy" Charlie said, unimpressed. He sniffled before taking a swig of his beer.
--
You'd known the Hewitt house's layout well; It's not like Thomas would invite you over after school some days...The basement was across from the front door, it'd be hard to miss unless the archway was blocked. As you approached the ominous door, you took back your hand from the handle. What if Thomas didn't want to see you? What if he'd grown resentful of you? You sighed, closed your eyes and went to open the door. To your surprise, a loud screeching sound interrupted you as the door opened seemingly by itself -Except, doors don't open by themselves.
Behind the doorway, a tall, familiarly built man stood before you. His half-mask..muzzle of sorts was tightly wrapped around his head, strangling his neck and chin. He must've heard you - or his family, talking.
"Hi Tommy; I'm so sorry, I know I've been absent - It's not you, I've just been so stressed and confused and-"
You were rambling. He never seemed to mind, especially when you called him "Tommy." He never liked when just anyone used that nickname, it was special. You were special - To him, at least.
"I need to talk to you about something." The way you said that caused him to tense a little. Talk about what? Was it his job? Did he disappoint you?
"Listen, Thomas" Oh no, you were being serious, weren't you? "I love you and your family so so much, and I'm so grateful to have known you for this long..but..I can't stay here."
..What?
"I can't afford to stay here any longer, Tommy. I don't know how you folks are staying - I..there's no jobs, no resources out here, no nothing. It's all gone! I can't live a life like that, how do you survive out here? I'd..I'd love to stay but it's not sustainable for me. I'm so sorry, Thomas."
You're leaving me. After all we've been through together, you're leaving. Just as uncle Charlie said you would..
"It's not anything you've done. I swear."
You can't leave. I won't let you leave - I have nothing. I'll prove to you how good I am - How good I can be, I swear. You can live with us on this farm, just like momma always dreamed of. You're not leaving me; Not after you've met momma, not after the countless times you've saved me from callous assholes out here. No - I couldn't..
"Thomas?"
He had been so lost in thought that he forgot to respond. His expression had dropped immensely - He had been so excited to see you again but now all that excitement was gone.
He'd lost Charlie once. Came close to losing everything, everyone. He would never let that happen again. Especially not when it came to losing you.
"Thomas.."
He had to keep you. Keep you here; In the basement; In the barn; Maybe in a spare bedroom - His bedroom. It didn't matter. You could would not leave.
As he stared you down, you felt an emptiness surround you - A dark, restless entity caging you in. Just as you thought he'd lose it, a voice pierced through from the archway:
"Thomas? Thomas, what on God's green Earth are you doing?"
It was Luda Mae. You didn't know if she'd heard your "conversation" but you were glad enough that she'd come through.
"Now, Tommy, I know you're upset, but let's just..leave ____ to breathe a minute. Okay?"
You mumbled a meek "Thank you" before wiping an unknown tear from your cheek. You'd never seen him like that - Most definitely not with you.
As your anxiety curtailed, you made your way to the living room to sit, holding your head in your hands. You hadn't noticed Monty sitting in the armchair beside the couch; Hell, you hadn't noticed the TV playing either. It was playing some..random news station - One of the few you could get out here.
"So you're leaving us, huh?" He spoke in a rough, gravelly voice.
"You heard that?" You sniffled.
"With the way you were talking, the whole damn house heard." Shit..had you been loud? It didn't seem like it in the moment..
"Don't worry about Thomas, he's an emotional crybaby, ain't he?"
You refused to answer. Seeing Thomas so distressed, so..frightened by the idea of you leaving, it fed your already aggravated guilt. So many hours in his room, so many repetitive school days spent together, drawing in the back of the class. The days when you two used to spend hours at the creek, collecting all sorts of treasures. He even picked a wildflower-bouquet for you - Granted, it was all dirty and withered, but it was enough to signify how much he cared about you. How grateful he was to have you here.
You were stripped of your thoughts as you heard Monty groan and yawn, falling asleep in his chair. The TV had become background noise for the both of you. On the table, two glasses filled with murky water and a note; Folded and slightly dirty. You wiped your eyes again and picked up the note, unfolding it.
Don't leave.
Please.

Guys this is ass should I log off
Anyway, if I didn't cover everything you wanted, please let me know and I'll update it!
Had no idea this was his room until I checked bts and props websites
no hate to any fic writers I love you guys so much but how does Thomas know exactly what he's doing each time y'all get down and dirty
He's a VIRGIN living in an EXTREMELY RELIGIOUS household. His bruncle probably knows nothing of value or accuracy, considering he's a "sexually perverted homicidal maniac" in the words of R Lee Ermey.
Thomas' only experience with sex is most likely through magazines and observation (of non-consensual sex, might I add).
How does he know proper sex ettiequte. Or how to pleasure someone at ALL (Especially afab)?? He does not know the anatomy enough 😭
"But Tae..he's a butcher? Wouldn't he know anatomy?" Uh, yeah, but does he know the anatomy of female reproduction and their purposes? No, I think not.
I'm less concerned with male anatomy considering Thomas has male anatomy..and has probably experimented with it..
ALSO - if I may, he's so gross. So so so so SO gross. One word: UTI. You're gonna get a UTI, baby..I don't make the rules. I love you Tommy but you need to shower and probably trim a bit
Listen - I love reading them. I love writing them sometimes, but my brain can't accept fanfics unless they are 90-95% accurate 😭
That latest post you answered about the family's takes on racism got me wondering, would the family even consider/let Thomas keep a reader that isn't from the Christian faith? I'm mainly thinking about the other two Abraham religions (Judaism & Islam), or would they just kill them off for being different?
I actually haven't thought about this! I think it really depends on the reader / individual as well as their relationship with the family {though mostly their relationship with Thomas.} If it's another Abrahamic religion, I think the family would be much more accepting than if it was something like Paganism. If it was something Pagan, Agnostic, or Atheist, be prepared for religious lectures and sermons about "Devil talk." Hoyt will most definitely call you a "blasphemous bitch" or something of that sort - Something to insult your faith will be likely. This'll mostly occur during arguments - Predominantly religion-related. You'll need to pray with them during dinner, they do not give a fuck what religion you are - Even if you aren't religious - Just pray. It's what's best for your survival honestly.
They'd probably try to convert you {and by they, I mean Luda Mae} - no matter the religion. "But it's basically the same thing; Why not become a Christian?" "Y/N, we just want whats best for you. You don't want to end up in hell, do you?" If you dare remind them that they're all going to hell, expect major offense and an obstreperous argument involving Luda Mae and Hoyt. Those two against you? Yeah..not gonna end well. And trust me when I say Thomas won't be any help - He knows when to intervene, and he will ONLY when and if it gets violent.
It'll die down with time, especially if Thomas likes you {romantically or platonically.} The family {Luda Mae especially} prioritizes Thomas' happiness in the little things - Meaning they'd leave it be after a while. As long as you treat them well {specifically Thomas}, contribute to the family, respect their beliefs {even if they won't respect yours...} and earn their trust, you'll be alright {in time}!
Thank you for the ask ! 🫀
My favorite GIF of him oml so handsome
_____
Just saw a post talking about how Thomas probably never had any friends {hit very close to home}, which got me thinking about just how intensely that affected him. Humans require connections, it's essential to our survival and overall wellbeing. Thomas' main influence is his family; And let's be honest, his family isn't all that great at fostering a healthy environment. I don't blame them, I doubt they were raised any better.
Thomas already seems like a closed-off, reserved, and anxious person. His anxiety seems to manifest in small fidgets, excessive staring, zoning out{?}, aggression, and isolation. This paired with his skin condition, facial deformity, and difficulty speaking would make socializing extremely difficult for him. I doubt many people attempted to socialize with Thomas. He was probably that one kid in class who sat by themselves and never spoke up. {I used to be that kid, totally not projecting or anything..} It's fair to assume this stunted some social growth for him, and I doubt being seen as an outcast is any good for your confidence. Confidence isn't just necessary for presenting yourself comfortably, it's also essential for expressing your thoughts, emotions, and boundaries. Putting yourself out there, achieving goals and milestones.
This would most definitely bleed into his relationships {of any kind really, romantic, sexual, platonic, family.} He would not express his emotions to you. Not easily anyway. Want a man who communicates properly despite language / ability barriers? Not gonna happen. Thomas would most likely shut you out. Shut anyone out just to protect himself from further emotional pain. I doubt the Hewitt family puts any emphasis on healthy communication anyway. And Thomas doesn't have experience to model a healthy partner. I'm sure he's an affectionate person, just not by default. ESPECIALLY not during the 2003 timeline. His confidence has grown, sure, but his family has gotten even more socially isolated, making social cues less likely to be processed properly. Another thing, {which connects to the previous statement,} Thomas doesn't fully understand social cues. Not much anyway. {I've discussed this so much, I apologize for the repetition.} He's an observant, quick learner, but that doesn't mean his brain computes certain things {am I projecting? Maybe}. I don't think he'd understand that staring at someone whilst they eat isn't appropriate {to most people}; He'd probably stare into people's car windows from afar, watch people from other rooms/windows/doorways, ect. Now, that doesn't mean Thomas is a nosey guy; Because I don't think he is. He knows not to eavesdrop, and he knows when to mind his business. I think it's more of "I'm zoned out / I'm confused and trying to figure you out" type of staring.
I'm sure Thomas understands boundaries.....the family’s boundaries that is. Hoyt disrespects boundaries all the time; But Luda Mae puts him in his place when {she feels} need be. Monty just flat-out refuses to acknowledge boundaries. That guy is arguably worse than Hoyt; He'd be offending like Hoyt does if he still had legs, I'm sure of it. He's just not as vocally aggressive as Hoyt, but I'm getting off-track here. It seems like Thomas has to respect the family's boundaries, but they don't have to respect his. Nor do I think he understands how to set up boundaries. It's kind of an unspoken rule in the Hewitt household that the basement is Thomas' space. No one goes down there without reason. That's probably the only boundary they respect. {I'm sure Luda Mae gives him space and patience though.} Combining his lack of knowledge / experience with boundaries, his excruciatingly-low confidence, and his social alienation, Thomas would be very, very hesitant towards intimacy. Having to not only be physically exposed {which is such a sore subject for him,} but emotionally?? Mentally?? That's not something he's used to nor ever been encouraged to embrace. I doubt Thomas even understands sex on an emotional level. {What seems to be} His only experience with sex is through his uncles; And maybe Luda Mae's "no intimacy before marriage" lectures. And you KNOW how Monty and Hoyt view sex. There's no intimacy there; It's just the primal, selfish urges. Now, I'm sure deep down those two want genuine intimacy and emotional connection; They've just buried it so deep down to resist being seen as 'weak'. Thomas most likely picked up on this, at least some of it, which has influenced his views on intimacy. He'd really have to trust someone on EVERY level; He also might cry after, idk. OR feel very uncomfortable. Probably have a moment of existentialism and some serious rethinking to do. Not necessarily about the act itself, but how he views it and what he's been taught. To add onto his hesitance: I see a lot of fan fiction involving him and the reader getting married within 1-5 months, which just..doesn't seem too realistic to me. Thomas most definitely has a lot of self-doubt, and the family wouldn't adjust to someone that quickly. I'd say AT LEAST a year before they {the family} consider it. Anyway..this is long enough but I'm fully willing to do pt. 2 on anything I've covered before :)
TLDR: Thomas would definitely need some guidance, the whole Atlantic Ocean's worth of reassurance, and some lessons on boundaries.
____
Anyway, yada-yada, Thomas needs some guidance and emotional regulation tools, what's new - 🫀
