So firstly, I see the whole multiple Sam’s as Sams from different universes that are somehow merging together into one, but I’m focusing on where did his bucket come from and what does it mean.

Y’know how when Ponk was trapped over the Egg and Foolish came to visit him? He asked for a bucket which Foolish gave and he wasn’t clear why he had it. My theory is that that bucket was just a little entertainment, something where he would talk in to hear his echo because that’s just a Ponk thing to do idk.

What if this alternate version of Sam or whatever found this bucket, using it as an anchor to stay in this world and as a guide? Through this bucket over his head(idk that’s my hc design for him) he can hear Ponk talking to him, like an imaginary friend except he has his own consciousness. This bucket also alters his output thus he can’t actually talk.

And since that ’Ponk’ in the bucket was corrupted by the Egg at the time, he unintentionally corrupted his brain and led Sam to the Egg. Sam’s wish for the egg might be to meet the ’voice in his head’, or that version of ’Ponk’.
