Or, better idea. Ask for the Medical policy or criteria they use to make the decision. It's not people behind a curtain making decisions on a whim. They make a set of criteria that need to be met for the service to be covered and it's publicly available to your doctor and you.
Just an FYI for those in the US with insurance issues
Speaking of Teba, thoÂ
Teba kind of falling into the role of a parental figure for Link and eventually, growing to see Link as his adopted sonÂ
Teba respecting Link for the warrior that he is but, at the same time, still recognizing that heâs a young man without a father figure or really anyone there for him so he decides that heâll at least attempt to be that in some way. He often offers advice, comfort (in his own way) and what not. It starts out simple, just him trying to be kind to a kid in a crappy situation but over time, the bond between him and Link grows until he thinks of the Hylian as his own
Teba flying over the plains of Hyrule, through the snowy winds of Tabantha, and sometimes even into the Hebra Mountains (or possibly even further), not really looking for Link but still using his keen bird eyes to try and pick out his familiar shape. Itâs not conscious at first but after a few times of stumbling across him, he starts actively looking out of the corner of his eyes for the HylianÂ
If he does seem him, he always takes the time to fly down and talk to him - helps him out with some monsters, makes sure heâs got food and medicine, makes sure he has warm clothes, always always ALWAYS offers him a safe place to sleep back in Rito Village. If Link takes him up on the offer of a warm, safe bed, Teba has no problem with the Hylian clambering up onto his back and him safely transporting him back
Link and Tulin being closer than peas in a pod - whenever Link visits Rito Village or the Flying Range (which he does often), he always wears little Tulin out by playing with him too much. A lot of the times, once night falls, they pass out together on Tulinâs bed with the little bird tucked close to Linkâs side. Teba just kind of shakes his head but feels like his home is complete with everyone there
Teba isnât really one for physical affection but sometimes, heâll stand by Linkâs side and drap his wing over his head and shoulders, holding him close to his side and squeezing him in a one armed hug. Link always leans a little bit into him whenever he goes that and it reminds Teba of how Tulin does the same. He also ruffles his hair from time to time (which is always a little awkward given the whole wings thing) or pats him on the backÂ
Teba spending a lot of time worrying about Link when he doesnât have him in his sights. He knows the kid is capable and talented but he canât help but to worry what he might be getting himself into. Saki is the one who always talks him down from that place, though he can always tell sheâs just as worried as he is. Despite him a warrior himself and knowing Link to be one as well, it always sends a shock of fear and anger through him whenever the kid shows up in Rito Village covered in bruises and scrapsÂ
Teba teaching both Tulin and Link how to make various kinds of arrows, how to repair their bows, what to do when caught in nasty flying conditions then looking on proudly as they grasp hold of everything with ease. Teba quietly teaching them powerful lessons of the warrior, guiding them with a patient, steady hand and encouraging them every step of the wayÂ
Teba being a calm, quiet presence in Linkâs life whenever things get too hectic. Link knows he can just show up in Rito Village without explanation, sit himself beside Teba wherever he may be and just stay by his side, working out whatever is bothering him by himself or hesitantly voicing it to Teba, who always responds in considerate, mature wayÂ
JustâŠTeba being the father that Link never really had, Teba treating Link the same way he treats Tulin and adoring the both of them, Teba teaching Link everything he knows and encouraging him, praising him all the time, Teba just being Linkâs stern but loving birb father, just <3 <3 <3 <3Â

I really enjoy the linguistic anaylasis and this just enriches the story so much
I saw this post by @danosphere91 and I was going to reblog it and just ramble in the tags for a minute, but it got way too long for tag rambling very fast and I figured if Iâm going to ramble I may as well just go ahead and let myself ramble for days.Â
âCause, like, Iâve been thinking about One Piece having different languages since somewhere around Alabasta in my first watch, and I always kind of low-key headcanon it as being a thing going on in the background.
Like, thereâs a standard language enforced by the World Government, but of course it gets tweaked a bit as the years go by and some islands donât have much contact with other islands, and then there are places the World Government doesnât control and itâs really anybodyâs guess whether or not the people there will be able to speak a language anyone recognizes. While most of each individual sea speaks the same language, most islands in the Grand Line have their own languages, since going between islands can be so difficult. One of the most notable exceptions is the islands connected by the sea train, which have agreed upon a shared language to make trading easier.Â
The Marines all speak the standard language, and officially thatâs all theyâre really supposed to speak, though most are aware that there are some circumstances that call for a language shift. A good early indicator of what sort of person any given marine is is how willing they are to cycle through languages and dialects until they find the one the person theyâre talking to is most comfortable conversing in. (Akainu probably doesnât speak anything but Standard.)
The East Blue group has a bunch of inside jokes that only work in the East Blue dialect, and sometimes theyâll try to make a new one and it just completely falls apart because the slang in Syrup Village is not at all compatible with the slang in Cocoyasi Village and then everyone is just speaking nonsense.Â
Luffyâs language skills are just a fucking mess because he learned some from Garp, and some from the people in Windmill Village, and the entire time Shanks was in town and for like two weeks after Luffy just practiced talking the way Shanks did, and then he learned stuff from the mountain bandits and Ace and Sabo and people in the Grey Terminal so itâs all just a mashup of different grammar rules and slang terms and everything else until heâs almost speaking a different language altogether. You know how he does that thing where, after having something explained, heâll go âah, its a mystery (insert thing here)â? Itâs partially because his standard isnât very good and, rather than try to cross the language gap, he just lets it go. He usually understands a lot more than people think, he just doesnât have the language skills to communicate it.Â
Sanji isnât much better; the fighting chefs come from all over the East Blue - to say nothing of all the language quirks Zeff picked up in the Grand Line and from his crew - and it shows. Heâs a little more aware of it than Luffy though, and can usually at least pick one style and stick with it for the sake of consistency over the course of a conversation. His ability to do this slips when he gets mad, and heâll also start adding in stuff from the language he spoke while living in the North Blue - his arguments with Zoro usually dissolve into physical fights around the time no one can tell what heâs saying anymore. Itâs even worse against enemies - Black Leg Sanji is known as âthat one Straw Hat who will scream nonsense at you while he kicks your face inâ. Â
All those verbal tics characters have? Heavy accents. Law, for instance, never really got the hang of speaking Standard and when he does it - as he usually does in the Grand Line - he does so with a heavy accent thatâs a mix of the general North Blue accent and the Flevance-specific one. All of the Minks have accents because of the way their mouths are shaped. âGarchuâ is a general greeting and carries a strong sense of community because they can all say it with pretty much the same pronunciation. Bepo lost his accent as a child from trying to sound more like Law, Shachi, and Penguin.
Speaking of Law. He rarely speaks Flevanceâs language, but he writes all his notes in it. If people see them, they often assume heâs being paranoid or planning something, so heâs writing in code or something. Really, heâs just trying to make sure this last piece of Flevance doesnât die before he does.
Big crews with people from lots of different backgrounds, like the Whitebeard Pirates, have to learn each otherâs languages in order to communicate, and the crew ends up with a language thatâs made up of all their different slang words and figures of speech. Youâre really part of the crew when you can communicate fluently in it. Ace isnât good at picking up new languages - Makino teaching him the proper dialect to be able to thank Shanks for saving Luffy was a nightmare - but the rest of the crew, especially the second division, helps him out where they can. Marco has a pretty heavy accent but heâs fluent in pretty much every language thatâs ever come onboard.Â
The language of the Celestial Dragons is holy and no one else is allowed to speak it. With the exception of a few slave commands and a handful of employees, no one else is even allowed to understand it (plenty of people pick up on parts of it, of course, but youâd better not let on that you can understand it where they can see you). Doflamingo still speaks it to himself or at other people sometimes, as a âfuck youâ to all of them. No one else understands it so no one realizes how heâs forgotten a lot of the grammar rules, how heâs lost the accent and now the words break on his tongue, how heâs never had - never will have - a vocabulary better than a ten year old child.Â
Brookâs speech patterns range between âposh gentlemanâ and âyour embarrassing grandfather who thinks itâs still normal to say things like âgroovyâ unironicallyâ.Â
Chopper had to learn how to speak human languages from scratch. He can read tons of different languages fluently, but he canât really speak any but Standard - he canât get the hang of pronunciation, slang words, or context clues. Heâs also not very good at tonal indicators or facial expression cues, since they werenât things little baby reindeer learn (this is part of why he never realizes when Usopp is lying about things like having 8,000 men - in addition to his naivety, he canât pick up on the tone shift that Usopp takes on when he starts telling stories).Â
Franky, in addition to whatever his biological parents spoke, Standard, and the language of Water Seven, can also speak some of Fishman Islandâs language. Iceberg used to speak it better, but these days Iceberg is out of practice because the government doesnât think much of people speaking it (yay, racism). Franky spoke it with Kokoro when sheâd come to visit, and would help Chimney practice it too.Â
And while weâre on the subject of Fishman Island, they probably donât get access to very good education, especially for the lower class citizens (*coughracismagaincough*), so the lower class the citizen the less likely they are to be able to speak Standard well, if at all. This is one of the arguments used for keeping them out of world meetings, to justify enslaving them, and so on - âlook, they canât even speak the languageâ. Those who can speak Standard usually do it with a thick accent, partially because of the education system and partially because of their mouth shapes.Â
Koala learned a decent amount of the Celestial Dragon language while a slave, and then the Fishman language from the Sun pirates. The latter is a comfort language; lots more positive associations with it than any other language. She relearns the Celestial Dragon language in the Revolutionary army to help translate things.Â
Sabo and Koala have some difficulties at the beginning of their friendship because Saboâs noble accent and some of the terms are ingrained in him and last past the amnesia and it reminds her too much of the Celestial Dragons and other nobles. He purposefully uses more slang and forces a more casual accent around her. He isnât sure why heâs so much more comfortable talking like that than he is talking like a gentleman.Â
So, yeah, I could go on for about a thousand years because Iâm a linguistics nerd, but basically languages and the cultural and social implications thereof are super interesting and I like thinking about them, can you tell.Â
What are your thoughts on the LGBT community and would you be willing to have a discussion about said thoughts?
This isnât a topic Iâve really written much about on this blog, and in truth, itâs something Iâve avoided. Not because I believe itâs unimportant but because 1) there are several Christians on here who have discussed this at length and I didnât want to just repeat what they were saying, and 2) itâs a very heated topic and I donât particularly want to deal with all the messages and anon hate I know Iâm going to get. Iâve gotten questions like this before (usually from anons who just want to start something) and I havenât answered them. The reason Iâm answering now is because it came from a blog that claims both the Christian and the LGBT title and has written about this topic a lot in attempt to prove that the Bible supports the LGBT lifestyle.
Before I actually get into writing my response, I want to preface this by saying that I donât mean to degrade or disrespect anyone from the LGBT community. My intention is to only say things that are backed up with Scripture. I understand that I donât have a full understanding of everything LGBT related, and while I know that the things the Bible says about this topic are offensive, it is not my intention to just be an offensive and nasty person. If I misrepresent you and your viewpoint on things, please know that itâs not personal, I just can only speak from my personal knowledge on this topic. I respect you as a human being and itâs my desire that you come to a full understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Feel free to ask questions or debate me, but I will warn you that I wouldnât be posting this if I wasnât already convinced that this is what the Bible says. I will discuss my position, but I wonât be swayed from it. Sorry for the long intro.
 Homosexuality:
When faced with the question of whether homosexuality is wrong or right (according to the Biblical standard) we have to first understand what Godâs intention was for relationships/marriage/love.
The Bible both begins and ends with a marriage. This is not accidental. The marriage in Genesis 2 is a prophetic picture of the marriage that occurs in Revelation 19. Genesis 2:24 says âFor this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.â This verse is quoted again in Ephesians 5:31, and then we see in verse 32, âThis mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.â The church is always referred to throughout Scripture as the Bride. She is to be the wife of Christ and He will be her husband. This is how marriage was set up from the beginning. And you can make arguments that âof course it said man/woman and husband/wife because it was a heterosexual couple getting married. That doesnât mean it HAS to be that way.â To that Iâd respond by saying that there is no passage in the Bible that was intended only for the historical characters in those passages. All Scripture is for all Christians of every generation. Secondly, if this passage was really only referring to Adam and Eve, there would have been no need to mention leaving his father and mother, because he had none. Clearly this was meant not just for them, but for those who would come after them as well.
The intention of marriage was clearly defined from the very beginning of Scripture, and it was done purposefully. A man and a woman, two beings that are different, come together to form one flesh. The woman was created to be joined to her husband, just as the Church was created to be joined to Christ. These are the parameters that Scripture has laid out. This is the Biblical definition of marriage. If God, who is not bound by time and knows the future, had wanted to leave the door open for same-sex marriages, He could have simply said two people come together to be one flesh. Since He didnât, we are not in a position to expand the definition we are given.
So how does this affect same-sex attracted people? It affects them because no matter how you try to translate or interpret the Bible, it does not legitimize a same-sex marriage.
However, I donât want to just limit this to marriage. What does the Bible say about homosexuality in general? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 list it among other subsets of what is considered the âunrighteousâ person. This passage is clear that those who practice such unrighteousness âwill not inherit the kingdom of God.â Romans 1, calls it âunnaturalâ (being that God did not create mankind this way) and âindecentâ. The whole passage from 1:21-32 compares same-sex acts with idolatry. V. 23 in the same way that they exchanged God for images and idols, v.26-27 they exchanged the natural use for men and women for the unnatural one. This continues to V. 32 where it says âthose who practice such things are worthy of deathâ. These two passages come to the same conclusion.
Now, I donât want to condemn people who have felt these desires but have abstained. We cannot control our feelings or desires, but we can choose to not let them dictate our actions.
 Transgender:
First, I want to say that there are no verses that directly talk about Transgenderism. However, that doesnât mean that the Bible doesnât deal with the issue. There are also no verses about environmentalism, gun control, or if itâs ok to speed and go through red lights.
So what does the Bible say that indicates its position on the transgender debate? Firstly, through creation we see that God made only two options: man and woman. He created them differently and with different uses. This was Godâs design for humanity from the beginning.
âDividing the human race into two genders, male and female â one or the other, not both, and not one then the other â is not the invention of Victorian prudes or patriarchal oafs. It was Godâs idea.â â Kevin DeYoung
Before the fall, before sin and decay entered the world, there were two assigned genders. Again, this was purposeful.
Yes, Iâve heard the argument that sex and gender are different and that you can be male of one and yet female of the other. And I donât want to be insensitive and try to deny the genuine feelings people have about this. Yes, there are men who believe that their sex is male and their gender is female. Those feelings may be real and come from some sort of legitimate place, but that doesnât make them correct. God has separated us by design and has placed boundaries on what men and women should be.
1 Corinthians 1:14-15 âDoes not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her?â
Deuteronomy 22:5 âA woman shall not wear a manâs clothing, nor shall a man put on a womanâs clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.â
This is totally counter-cultural, but the fact is that God is our creator and has every right to limit our uses of our bodies. He has purposefully designed us, and commands that we act in accordance with what He has made us for. This is non-negotiable for those who claim Christ: that regardless of what we feel inclined to or desire, we use our bodies for Godâs purpose. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
Why are sexual sins different than other sins?
Now, there is a sense in which sin is sin. All sin, no matter how great or small, shares the same penalty. And we know that we shouldnât judge others who have sinned âmoreâ or âworseâ because in the end, we have all fallen short of the same goal and offended God infinitely.
However, we should also remember that the Bible does speak about sexual sins (sins with our bodies) as being in a different category than other sins. 1 Corinthians 6 goes into this in great length. V. 13, says that the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord. V. 15 talks about how our bodies are members of Christ. V.18 says âFlee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.â Then V. 19-20 conclude the chapter by telling us that we are not our own, and we ought to glorify God with our bodies.
Common objections to the Biblical view:
âBut God says Iâm beautifully and wonderfully made.â Firstly, in the context of the passage, this isnât meant to be a âYouâre perfect just the way you areâ kind of verse. Rather, the writer is praising God for His creation.  Secondly, no one would take this verse to mean that EVERYTHING about us is made perfectly. Since the fall, we have cancer and broken bones and obesity and mental issues. Just because something exists within us does not mean itâs good. Which leads me to one of the most common objectionsâŠ
âI was born this way.â As Christopher Yuan, author of Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by Godâs Grand Story, so eloquently put it: âinnateness doesnât mean that something is permissible; being born a sinner doesnât make sin right.â Regardless of the things that exist in your life, Christ calls us to holiness.
âGod is love so he will accept me.â God is also Holy and Just and has laid out commandments that we should follow. Yes, He is Love, and it was in His love that He made a way for us to be accepted by the Father. But the ONLY way to have that acceptance is to be found in Christ. Godâs love and acceptance will not be extended to anyone who is not found in Christ. (Romans 5:1-8)
Moreover, God cannot accept sin or sinners. In fact, the Bible says clearly that God HATES sinners. (Psalm 5:4-6, Psalm 11:5, Proverbs 6:16-19, Jeremiah 12:8, Hosea 9:15, Malachi 1:2-3, Romans 9:13.) (References gathered by Steven Rohn, inthelasthour.com, Does God Hate Sin and Not Sinners? Revisiting an Old Cliché)
âGod wants us to be happy.â Yes, God wants us to have joy in Him, but that doesnât mean He wants us to be happy at the expense of holiness. In fact, God calls us to do things that will potentially lead us to have difficult and depressing lives. In Luke 9:23, Christ calls us to deny ourselves and our desires to follow Him. In many places in Scripture, we are also told to die to ourselves, that we might live to Christ. (Galatians 2:20, Philippians 3:8, Ephesians 4:22-24, Galatians 5:24) So yeah, there is joy in Christ, but donât think that just because something makes you happy means that itâs ok.
âEven if that was a part of the Old Testament Law, it doesnât apply to modern day Christians.â This is just a blatant misunderstanding of our relationship to the law. First, the only way to be freed from the Law is to be joined to Christ through His death. (Romans 7:3-4) This means that if you have not trusted in Christ and have not been cleansed by His blood, the curse of the Law still applies to you. You ARE under obligation to keep the Law. It wasnât vanquished when Christ died. It was merely fulfilled for those who are Christâs. Second, just because something was stated in the OT Law doesnât mean it no longer applies. The Law also said not to kill and steal and those are still 100% in effect. Also, you might have a better case if the same things werenât explicitly stated in the New Testament as well.
âWhen the Bible was written, homosexuality didnât exist in its modern monogamous, loving formatâ
First, the Bible never prefaces its condemnation of homosexuality by saying âIf itâs loving and monogamous, then itâs ok.â Itâs an absolute statement. Those who practice homosexuality will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Period. Â
Second, this isnât a new concept. Not in the slightest. Itâs become trendy the last few years, but these things have existed for a long time. A few sources for looking into homosexuality in the ancient world would be: Homosexuality in Ancient Greece and Rome: A Sourcebook of Basic Documents by Prof. Thomas K Hubbard. And Platoâs Symposium.
Now, I know that was a super long answer, and probably not the one you wanted to hear. The truth is that any attempt to pair Christianity with the LGBT community is doomed to fail because Christianity is first and foremost predicated on the truths of the Bible, and some of those truths come into stark conflict with LGBT beliefs. In recent years, I have seen a lot of people coming out as âQueer Christiansâ. I know these people exist and Iâm not trying to deny that. But the reality is that the Bible speaks clearly on these issues and any attempt to deny that is also a denial of Christ.
What makes a Christian? Is it someone who believes in God? Or someone who believes that Jesus Saves!? 1 John gives us a clear indication of what a Christian is and is not.
1 John 2:3-4 âBy this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, âI have come to know Him,â and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him.â
So to the people who claim both the title of Christianity and of the LGBT community, I ask this: In light of the Biblical commands to abstain from sexual immorality and homosexuality, and in light of Godâs design regarding gender, are you willing to submit to God and flee from sin, or will you continue to disobey His commandments? The truth is that if God says something is wrong and you continue to do it (and try to justify is as being just fine) you are NOT a Christian. You canât possibly be, because it is a defining characteristic of a Christian that when God commands, we obey. We canât cling to Christ and our sin at the same time.
But, there is forgiveness to be found in Christ. Itâs only by turning from sin and turning to Christ that we can be saved. We cannot have both sin and salvation.
If you are someone who genuinely believes in Christ, but has been taught that the LGBT lifestyle and Christianity are compatible, I urge you to read your scriptures and see for yourself. Christ offers us a life walked in righteousness, a life free from the slavery of sin. Donât be deceived, but rather read your Bible. See what God had created us for, and turn to Him.
This one will never not be funny.
Wonder how many years discharging the gun got him.
The bible is incredibly edited. If it fits together, which is heavily does not, it's because someone arranged it to be that way. Books that didn't match up were discarded. It's nothing more than a collection of short stories, cultivated in a vain attempt to convince generations of people to pass judgement on others. There's not a shred of evidence a word of it is anything more than personal delusion. Believing is just buying into that delusion.
Actually, the Bible is the most authenticated ancient text known to man. What does that mean? A lot of things actuallyâŠ
The Bible has the smallest time gap between the time it was first written and the earliest manuscripts we have. That is VERY important when we are dealing with ancient documents because it greatly increases probability of reliability. We are going to take a few moments to compare the New Testament to other ancient historical accounts that are considered trustworthy and reliable. I usually just link to this whole video but I felt like throwing in pictures this time because Iâm Extra like that
By historical comparison, the earliest manuscripts we have of the New Testament were written in a shockingly short time span from when the original document was penned - a mere 50 years. But there is so much moreâŠ
Every single manuscript out of the 24,633 we have of the New Testament alone matches up virtually perfectly, which means they were copied, not edited. They were not perpetuated like a game of telephone, they are true to their original content. How does that compare to the works of other ancient text? Look how many we have of Caesar, Plato, and Tacitus in comparison to the New Testament:
The next closest in regards to the number of manuscripts we have would be Homerâs Iliad with a total of 643 manuscripts
That still leaves the Bible leading by 23,990 manuscripts.
The foundational points of Caesarâs life, the preservation of the Iliad, and the reliability of Tacitusâ writings are considered rock solid. We believe those events happened, we believe the stories told are ones the authors wrote. So why do we doubt the Bible which is FAR more trustworthy than anything else we have? 643 x 38.31 to be exact.
So internally itâs accurate, but what about externally? How do we know it is not simply the writers perpetuating a lie? Glad you asked! Next slideâŠ
Apart from the Bible, we have 9 non-Christian outside sources and 33 Christian outside sources. That brings us to a total of 42 outside sources affirming the events and authenticity of the Bible. Compare that to the second place who would be Caesar of which we only have ten outside sources documenting his life.
We donât doubt the events of Caesarâs life, we donât say that there is no evidence to prove the words about him are true, we donât claim that these other books are so heavily edited that we can no longer believe anything they say is accurate. So why do we doubt the Bible is true?
The Bible blows everything else away. It passes every test of authenticity by a massive amount. If we disregard the validity of the Bible, we have to discard everything we claim to know about ancient history because the Bible is the absolute highest standard for historical accuracy. Thatâs a fact. (You can watch the whole video including why the four eye-witness gospel accounts are important here)
