Reblog this to ease the back pain of the person you reblogged it from
I'd rather wait another 10 years to see Kung Jin come back, because to see another different dude with a whole new personality, appearence, backsory and only sharing the same name and weapons... better see nothing. I miss him so much, yet his M1K version looked dissapointing
Kung Jin was leaked and practically confirmed since 2023, because there are real files and dialogues about him, alongside two other characters.
Regardless of the news, I'm happy, being a Kung Jin fan and not seeing him in this game makes me happy, what a weird sentence

NRS is terrified of portraying queer relationships in Mortal Kombat, having little representation in their games.
Mileena and Tanya are in love, but Umgadi rules forbid their relationship, so they can't officially be together. We get a few scenes of them expressing their attraction to each other and some intro dialogues about their relationship, but that’s it. However, in the Khaos Reign DLC, Empress Tanya is married to Emperor Rain in an alternate timeline. The two of them are heavily affectionate and express their feelings. NRS gave Mileena and Tanya rules restricting their relationship, but Empress Tanya and Emperor Rain freely express affection toward each other.
NRS changed Cyrax and Sektor, who were originally men, into women in Mortal Kombat 1, solely to have romantic connections with Kuai Liang and Bi Han. They could've kept them men and made them queer but made two of them women because it apparently would’ve been "too much." Even Hanzo, who is heavily shipped with Kuai Liang, was changed into a child while the former cryomancer is married off to Harumi.
Lastly, there's Kung Jin, who has never been in a relationship with another male character in Mortal Kombat. In the original story line, he was ostracized by his family for being gay. Currently, Kung Jin has been mentioned in the new timeline, but we haven't officially seen him and have no idea what NRS plans to do with him.
NRS is afraid of allowing their characters to be queer and having a few main relationships be LGBTQIA+.
