The idea of a smart city is imprinted in the technology sector’s viewpoint diverting technologies to innovate more in the domain. The cities are called smart when technology is incorporated into all fields, raising the level of ease with improved scope for research and development.

The adoption of these systems into the daily life of the people living in cities, making them healthier, safer, and more prosperous, is occurring at a slower pace than expected. The abrupt hike in artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, broader availability of low-cost IoT sensors, and distributed hybrid multi-cloud IT architectures have unraveled a plethora of opportunities in the development of smart cities. Factors that drive the growth of interconnected smart cities are: Read More

The Pathway for Retailers to Attain Better Customer Loyalty

The Pathway For Retailers To Attain Better Customer Loyalty

Today, loyalty programs have become one of the most powerful arsenals used by global retailers to incentivize consumers, ensure repeat business, and subsequently increase ROI. Recent surveys indicated that over 62 percent of these retailers plan on revamping their loyalty offerings next year, while many others are already battle-ready with offers no shopper can ignore.

However, to have a successful loyalty program in place, it is vital that retailers need to understand customers’ behavior and preferences. A global study across retail and hotels published by Oracle Retail highlighted the fact that many organizations have the wrong idea about the end-users’ likes and dislikes.

For example, 58 percent of the retailers believed that consumers would sign up for every program they offered, but in reality, nearly 70 percent of the end-users limit their participation. This shows that organizations need to first understand the mindset that drives customer loyalty perceptions and then develop engaging programs accordingly.

“Age is the most important single risk factor for the incidence of chronic diseases and ultimately, death. The mortality rate increases exponentially with age and doubles approximately every eight years, as described by the Gompertz law of mortality. The incidence of specific diseases, such as cancer or stroke, also accelerates after the age of about forty, and doubles at a rate that mirrors the mortality rate doubling time. It is therefore entirely plausible to think that there is a single underlying process, the driving force behind the progressive reduction of the organism’s fitness leading to the increasing susceptibility to diseases and death, that is aging itself. There is, however, no fundamental law of nature requiring exponential morbidity and mortality risk trajectories. The acceleration of mortality is thus the most important characteristics of aging process. It varies dramatically even among closely related mammalian species and hence appears to be a tunable phenotype. Here we follow how big data from large human medical studies, and analytical approaches borrowed from physics of complex dynamic systems can help to reverse engineer the underlying biology behind Gompertz mortality law. With this approach we hope to generate predictive models of aging and for systematic discovery of biomarkers of aging followed by identification of novel therapeutic targets for future anti-aging interventions”. What is Content Shock? | Vitamins Part 3

What Is Content Shock? | Vitamins Part 3

Past research shows that there are now more than 4 billion internet users all over the world. More than 3.2 billion of these people are active social media users.

This may seem like a good thing for marketers. More users mean a bigger audience for your brand, right?

We hate to burst your bubble, but this may not necessarily be the case.

Content Shock, as coined by Mark Schaefer, is an existing phenomenon that is rooted on two things: the astounding and exponentially expanding volume of online content that we have today and the audience’s limited capacity to consume them.

What Is Content Shock? | Vitamins Part 3

Yes, innovative technology in our audience’s lifestyle have increased the market’s capacity to consume content. However, this rate has been consistently overpowered by the rate at which content producers launch material online. Let’s take a look at these figures as examples:

> Youtube: More than 500 hours of video are uploaded every minute (this is equal to 21 straight days of consumable videos launched every 60 seconds)

> Instagram: As of June 2018, there were 400 million daily Instagram stories users (this is more than the US population as of 2018)

> Facebook: 350 million photos uploaded on a daily basis

Just imagine how long it would take a person to view all this content in one sitting!

What Is Content Shock? | Vitamins Part 3

Content has turned into one of the most valuable tools for marketers. However, at present, content is already commoditized. And what happens when there is a surplus of content supply against the audience’s demand for it? As marketers, it will mean that we need to produce valuable content that stands out and makes audiences want to interact with us. We need to find strategically creative ways to boost organic consumption; and we need to explore tools that we can use to optimize results.

What Is Content Shock? | Vitamins Part 3

At the end of the day, the power to choose which content to consume is in our audience’s hands. Thus, we need to produce engaging materials that will make them want to invest their time and attention.

Implementing Unique Technologies to Enhance Physician-Patient Relationship

Technological innovation in medicine takes place in a major area managed by knowledge inequalities and trust-based relationships. A legal framework of professional advice-giving governs these relationships.

It is assumed that this interaction is between patients and doctors. Introducing AI in healthcare challenges this assumption, though there is disagreement about whether human doctors will work with Artificial Intelligence or will be replaced by it.

Implementing Unique Technologies To Enhance Physician-Patient Relationship

Artificial Intelligence will not replace humans due to unresolved issues in transposing diagnostics. It will assist doctors with accurate information to provide better care to the patients. There is a significant shift in the patient-doctor relationship with the involvement of AI in healthcare.

Implementing Unique Technologies To Enhance Physician-Patient Relationship

Consumerization is an emerging phenomenon in healthcare where the role of the patient is changed as a reactive receiver of care. They play a vital role in managing their health, deciding their payment method, and in demanding the quality of service.

Patients can access their medical information in many ways. WebMD website is the leading healthcare information provider where its online portals, mobile platforms, and health-focused publications serve as better healthcare plans for consumers and physicians.

Consumers utilize this website because they trust that the answers to the healthcare-related questions are reliable, accurate, and easy to understand.
